Hands-on: expression on the new Ableton Push

  • Ableton has improved the expression on the grid of pads on the new Ableton Push hardware. Here, recorded in standalone mode, is a quick demo of what it's like to play Tension and the new Drift, plus a look at the expression parameters. (no talking)
    There are intentionally some mistakes and "out of tune" notes left here - this is like learning (and practicing) a new instrument. From our first few days with the hardware; more to come.

    That Tension instrument sounds incredible. It's interesting to hear it change and come to life when you change the MPE settings.

    0:39 They need to tweak something to stop this "dying cat sound" that Stimming also noted in his review.

      @@TilliKommunikation In general I would agree, but in this case it seems like it could be tweaked to prevent this undesirable behavior. It's a digital instrument, not a violin. No need to keep it responding this way if it can be helped.

      @@user82938 AFAIK you can tweak every instrument to your liking in Ableton. Don't you?
