Hey, I've recently been thrown into being the stage manager for my school's show with very little prep (mostly a run through of what doors to be unlocked before a rehearsal). This series has been a god-send for me and I'll definitely reccomend it to my fellow students that are interested in backstage work!
Enjoy seeing what different stage managers do. I stage manage for a fairly small, but mighty! Company. We all kinda pitch in. I’m not a performer, but love helping a show come together…I’m on my 20th show overall ( various volunteer tech positions, first job in theatre was follow spot..still a fav tech job. Im glad I live in such a rich community and professional theatre company scene. I’m on my 10th stage managing gig, each show is a new adventure. We do kinda have a core group of actors but each show also brings in new faces..it’s fun to see how the chemistry works with the actors. I like tech. Except props mistress, won’t do that job again…I’m glad to be back doing a show, after a year in lockdown. We are following all covid protocols

The videos I've seen, (and of course, I've been taking notes!), are so full of awesome information, humor, and fun, that you have given me the confidence that I needed, to better prepare for and be a decent SM (if called,...) As a high school stage manager who's training several underclassmen to take over when I graduate, I find your videos invaluable! Finally, someone who can explain why the week before anything has actually started always seems to be the busiest...
