Nice demonstration Steve pretty informative. Fishing in Los Banos Creek a lot more just to save the hour drive but I could use those techniques there. Still learning the GoPro. Thanks camoguy
I generally like to rip the bait on slack line when fishing jerkbaits. Gives a more erratic action from a dead pause rather than the bait slightly moving and then twitching. Especially important with certain deep diving jerkbaits like the 110+1 but still a technique I use with most shallow depth suspending or low float jerkbaits.
I always learn from your video! thank you for putting in the time and producing high quality video for the Delta!!! it has been a few days ago but we caught 41 and the next day 45 LMB on Jerk Baits... yesterday was very slow...
I stay jerkin it, love the vision 110... ive got a few ive modified bills on, i also like the shadow rap and f11, mostly used for walleye right after their spawn...dont forget wbout the loop knot aka rapala knot, one of the most important parts of using one.
Hey Steve, great stuff! I really appreciate the insights on working through submerged vegetation. I was out yesterday with Jerkbait and Senko all day. Looks like the bee that followed me all day found you. Be safe out there.
Great video Steve. I was just out Sunday doing most of what you talked about. I do need to modify my retrieve out of the vegetation. I pull it through hard lol. Definitely trying your method. Started out slow but picked up some quality fish.
Great Question Dozer, I think you gave me an idea for a video so be watching for a "How often should I be pulling up vegatation" video. Here's a short answer. The answer would be different if you're fishing in a lake but this is the delta answer. If you are in, or very close to vegetation, you are usually around fish. If I am hanging up every other cast and catching fish, I stay. Usually if the veg. is clean and crisp you may come up with a foul hook every 4 or 5 cast. Thats OK. If you are coming up with witches hair thats not good, I move or adjust to a bait that will not run a bite more shallow. Remember, you may not need to move far. Make sure to take a good look up and down the bank to see if there may be a section that is catching some current, head to that section and give it a try before bailing, this mat be a short section of bank that is clean and holding the lions share of the fish. Hope that helps, this will ba question that will be easier to explain in a video. Thanks again for the question.
@@indeeponthedeltawithstevec5997 Thanks for your quick response. I like your insight on the jerkbait being fouled by vegetation when fishing the Delta. I fished the Delta for over 35+ years but I mostly targeted stripers. I will keep an eye out for your video covering this. Thanks again for answering my question.
Nice! Keeping contact is the juice. I know very little about jerk baits, but with the frog I find most missed blow ups are because of slack, wasted space between me and the frog, not keeping contact. (Or it’s a small who just didn’t get it) It’s something I need to pay attention to. I’ve made my own adjustments to increase my hook up ratio but I appreciate your technique.
Hey Steve, thanks again for the great video and all the great information. I was hoping you would land a toad while you were demonstrating. Would you recommend a loop knot or tie right down to the eye?
Thank you thank you thank you. That all made a lot of sense
Thanks for watching Dave, you just made my day.
Great tutorial
Thanks
Thanks Joe, go out and catch some fish-good luck-thanks for watching.
Appreciate you sharing your knowledge 👊🏽🙏🏽
Thanks Reel, Really appreciate your support, good luck and have a great holiday season.

The Damn Gopro.
Thanks you Steve for your lesson on how to used jerk bait and it helping me catch more for. Thanks you again.

Yea, I'm with you, forgot to mention how important the slack line is in the jerk and twitch retrieve.

Walleye? Where you watching from? I'll take a few of them extra fillets.
Great teaching video. Thank you.
Thanks for the support M, how you go out and get some.
What reel was used during the demostration? The white one.
That is a Lews Speed Spool CGISHL 150 size. Nice small fit in your hand reel.

Yea, can't get away from the bees this week. Have a great holiday season.

Long time Richard, thanks for tunning in. Thought you would be up at Clear Lake smacking some cats.
Hey Steve how often do you find your jerkbait hook fouled with vegetation on it after you break it free?

Only the megabass 110 Baits have balls. 😂

Hope your getting out and catching a few. It's been a fun Fall for me. Sure beats last spring and summer.
I was up there a few weeks ago. (Video coming). I'm eager to get some fall action on these new baits for these bass.
I'll be watching.

I use a Palamar knot, I landed a really good fish the morning after I did the edit. You'll see it soon. Thanks for watching.
FIRST!
Let’s get jerkin Steve!🎣
You're number one, let's get jerkin.
