I only found out about the old one because I was singing “bk, have it your way” and my mom asked me how I knew about that commercial and I told her that there were all these new Burger King commercials but she told me that it was a really old song

I actually had no clue Have It Your Way was BK’s motto.
That was their motto because if you went to some place like McDonald's, they'd just say, "oh sorry well we don't do that here." That was why it was seen as so much better to go to Burger King in those years.

@@theslaya1576 I went to some ratched ahh McDonalds close to the outback and they had these terminals where you could choose each ingredient. I used it and get a burger with no tomato on it even though I didn't take out the tomato. When I ask for my tomato slice the worker dead ahh tells me that I didn't order tomato as if I hadn't just gone through a list of every ingredient before finishing my order. Even if there was some mistake with their computer can't he just give me a damn tomato slice? I'm not asking for a new burger. I got of the road after driving for hours, finally coming by this place to eat wich wasn't even busy. Anyway I didn't particular like McDonalds to begin with and the burger sucked even when I got my tomato slice. It was my last time going to McDonalds.

Well the thing that stuck out to me is that the employees are more likely to be teenagers who can be paid less (at least where I’m at)… and the wage wouldn’t be much better than back then

I personally like both of them. The old one is very wholesome because of how nice the workers are and it just feels good. The new one is actually catchy, sure the dude is just saying whopper a hundred times, but I personally think it’s still cool.

There is a different between the font from the remake logo and the original. The original font had more of a groovy look while the remake reused the font from the 1999 logo.
@@retroryan838Nope, they actually didn't use the font from the 1999 logo. The logo font is a readjusted version of the original to make it more square-ish and less "imperfect".
The commercial itsellf uses a 70s styled font as well. I really like how they made a 70s branding look modern tbf.

The old version just screams better, it just has more of a charm to it to see a family get excited to eat some grub at BK while still having that "Have It Your Way" song. Plus, the woman listening to their orders while still singing that jingle just was that nice extra detail that beats the new version.

Well to be fair, having custom orders like that was unheard of at that time. Any other restaurant would have said "no sir". Burger King really took the step forward for us.

If it wasn't for this I wouldn't have realized they made the new ad in tune with the old one. That gave me chills when I started recognizing the tunes on the old one towards the end of it.

Retro advertisments are a treasure that need to be preserved.
Both versions are good. The older version has more dialogue and the lyrics are catchier, and the newer version sounds like they just took anyone to sing the song which makes it sound funny, also it’s upbeat and the audio sounds cleaner. I understand why they wanted to recreate it.
I wouldn't mind longer commercials if they were this wholesome
I like both of them and also there is one common thing in between both of them if you listen carefully when they start singing you might hear THE SAME music in the current whopper ad which is eerie in a good way!

I think the new one makes BK actually look good, I mean that patty looks so juicy, and the old one is a bit longer, it could be better if it got straight to the point, but it probably took a long time to make the old one, so i’m not gonna be picky
The entire old commercial was the point. This was back when McDonald's assembled and packaged entire burgers well before you entered the place so they could hand them to you the instant you ordered; additions or subtractions from the standard version meant you were either outright denied or asked to step aside from the line and wait for a whole new burger to be made.
People have different time spans nowadays, back then things used to be longer.

Back then having it your way was new, it had to be advertised.

Ahhh i love the 1973 my favourite just sounds cool, and groovy wish music and everything in general was like that.
i find it really interesting that the values back in the day are so different from now. like commercials back then usually focused on family ( i.e: the family going inside of the burger king together ) because the norm back then was that you had to have a complete nuclear family to be accepted in society's eyes. this also comes with the husband having more "control" over the decisions the family makes ( i.e: the being the one to initially speak for the family while giving orders ). today commercials are more focused on trying to grab your attention ( which burger king does by creating this catchy jingle ) and make the food look as appetizing as it can be ( compare the burgers shown in the first ad vs the one in the second. while the burger in the old ad still looks pretty well its more focused on the actual "story" of the commercial than with the newer one being focused on how well they can make the burger look (( and the song obviously )) ). just something neat i noticed
