I always thought maroon with a reddish brown… Which is what I expected when I ordered this color. I was pleasantly surprised even though it wasn’t the color I expected, but it is more of a Violette/plum purple brown color. Daniel Smith described it as sitting somewhere between permanent violet and manganese violet. Beautiful color… Thanks for the color mixing examples!
Interesting to see how much this differs from Perylene Violet.....it looks a lovely colour..but as it’s only available in the large tube, it’s expensive.......
I did a little searching online. It looks like this paint in only available from Daniel Smith in the 15ml size. However, it is a Series 1 color meaning it is the least expensive of their pigments. But I get it....it is still not cheap!!
I'm using my Dugato #4 Round Squirrel Hair brush. Squirrel hair really holds a lot of water. I have a video about them here - ruclips.net/video/6UMWq-GLGtw/видео.html
