You don't realize the impact of having a hundred thousand people show up in a small town of 500. The eclipse is passing through mostly very small towns that are going to get stampeded by tourists.

In 2017, small towns in Oregon handled the influx of tourists coming to see the eclipse very well. Traffic was heavy, but only for those unprepared enough that they came in late and left early. The event itself was wonderful.
All those people need to stay home to protect their properties

People please, take care of your kids. Don't lose sight of them, no matter their age. Keep them close, hydrated,snacks , and safety plans in case of an emergency. And don't trust anyone. Always use your sixth sense. Be careful,stick together and be kind with your kids and be patient, be prepared also if your kids have special needs. Anticipate things, predict and have more than one plan. Teach your kids your phone number. You can put a little paper with important phone numbers and the name of the child in their pockets. Don't forget medicines and put a small backpack with essentials on your kids'backs. Hope you all enjoyed it. And God bless us all. ❤

So people getting together is considered a disaster now? Our infrastructure is so frail it can't handle an eclipse? I was in Oregon for the 2017 eclipse and it was not insane like they're acting like this is going to be. And they didn't declare a disaster before it happened either.
