I sold quite a few Put options and I expect to be assigned but I’ve already purchased some shares to add. I see nothing bad with this stock although I do think the company could do a better job explaining to the general public how convenient and broad the platform is. I only stumbled on it after someone at work mentioned it.

This is definitely a common pattern among battleground stocks like SoFi. Good on you for taking advantage of the earnings pop!
The cost structure is very similar to jp morgan.1/3 of revenue cost goes interest expense and another 1/3 goes to sales and marketing.Doesnt seem like the technology has any benefits in it's cost structure at the moment but maybe when sofi scales up the effect could be more pronounce though I don't see much why the excitement about it is so high
Valid points, but SoFi is growing much faster than JP Morgan (aka taking market share from them) and SoFi is gaining massive operating leverage with margins expanding rapidly.
@@riyadosofian yes I believe the benefit of owning sofi now is that you're owning a bank at the early stages so there is much room to grow.Hiwever ,though they may be taking market share now ,again thery are bound to hit a brick wall without any moat or if things don't change .As a consumer,the only benefit I see to move to sofi now is due to their APY returns but that is at the cost of sofi interest expense .Not only that,the risk profile for sofi and Jp Morgan is quite different as well so I see it evens out.Having said that ,I don't think your thesis is wrong just pointing out the possible as sofi seems to be another stock that people put ther life savings into.
my concern w Sofi is the personal loans. Yes they loan to high FICO score people but no collateral, the risk of default is still there! Your Thought ?
