Just like to say I love Turkey. I first went there in 83 for a year tour of duty on the Black Sea. Great country and great people. I've been back a couple times since, but nothing beats living there. O to be young again.
We’ve only been in Turkey for 3 weeks so far but have fallen in love! Really wish we could get up to the Black Sea but that may have to be for next time! Great video guys!
Hi Matt and Julia 👋. Thanks for showing us this beautiful and friendly city of Rize. Understandably, Turkey has such varied geography but I was so enamored with the lush green scenery. ❤️🏞 I have mentioned to you before that you seem to "bring out the best" in the people that you meet. It must be the "aura" of kindness that you project. 👍🤗🤣. Take care, friends and enjoy your time in Georgia. Have a pleasant and rewarding weekend. 🤗❤️🙏🌎
I was taught Turkish, back in the mid 90"s by the wife of a boss I had. He taught, as did she, at the University of Michigan. I will always remember Muge. ( strange pairing of a couple, she is Muslim, and Charlie is jewish. Go figure!) I barely remember any of it. But I was able , back then, to order lunch at a turkish cafe here in Ann Arbor. The owner would try to chat me up, but I had to explain that was all I knew. She would hug me and thank me for trying that much at least. Matt, you still sound a little hoarse (no, not like a pony). Keep drinking that tea, it will help your throat. Good to find out that those two condiments, the red and white ones, probably originated in Turkey. Any idea how many thousands of years ago? I will try to research that on line for you. Again, fantastic camera work, love the scenery. Be safe, get better, Love you guys!
Another beautifully shot vlog, never been that far north in turkey, but was lovely seeing the city of Rize, looks like plenty to see and do there, was very nice of them to open the town museum up just for you, your breakfast/lunch looked amazing, looking forward to seeing your time in Georgia 🇬🇪, as always enjoy and have fun on your travels
What lovely and friendly people the Turks are! ❤Everyone greeting you while walking on the sidewalk and that friendly lady you "talked" with! The kahvalti looks so appetising, my heart yearns for it, long time since I had the privilege 😥😋 I love your briefing on those exotic genuine Turkish condiments Matt 🤣🤣 I sincerely hope that it was not the actual tuvalet I saw in the background of the footage at the station? 🤢Thanks for the lovely video and go well! ❤❤
Thank you so much Johan!! 🥰 Couldn’t agree more, they were all just so incredibly friendly! 😍 So glad we could share more of Turkey with you! ❤️ I can confirm it was most definitely the actual tuvalet 😀😅
Again, loving the videography - the coach trip shots and music are awesome; your food shots during your long-awaited meal are also super arty and cool. And also, really liking your people-watching style shots. You're both smashing it!
How good these views of Turkey !! I see that in a few weeks we will see more of that country in this channel! Looking forward to your videos when you arrive in Khachapuri....I mean Georgia !!!
That was a meal and a half for sure...LOL!! Rize has a charm about it and the people seem very friendly. That always makes a place so much more endearing. Lovely video...I could see myself living in such a small city. Can't wait to see where next you guys end up.
Fun idea with all the shops shots letting the imagery speak for itself. If you watch any Jean Pierre Melville movies this is what he did to tell stories. Works every time..
What a great video, I am looking forward to exploring more of this beautiful country with you, hoping you visit the towns and cities where my family lives ❤️
You mean when Armenians rebelled, allied with Russians and tried the same bs Russians are trying in Ukraine now? Those "vile" Ukrainians, they have no shame like Turks.
As I look at your film this place, everything that is happening next door, especially on the other side of the Black Sea, reminds me of one thing. This is what a certain aviation general, one of the air aces who fought in one world war and then in another, said. A few hours before that, he shoot in his head he said to his grirlfriend: "We should get married and have kids, not fight in some fucking wars." Especially, managed by old Ali Baba and his 40 robbers.
half of the video is merabaaa :D the lady was sayin "my adam (husband) goes there(england) soo much and he is deceased(you know dead) now oldu hadi have a nice day kolay gelsin(has no translation) :)
It must be so hard to change when you have a bug it takes a lot of re-arrangement. Well done . Do you take and medication to help yourself if there is a problem?😝😝😝
omg the conversation between that lady and you was incredibly entertaining. Lady: Where are you from? You: England. Lady: England? My husband also went there once, very long time a ago, but he died later. You: Thanks! Lady & You: Görüşürüz!~ (See ya later~)

I'm very impressed with your energy levels, I would need a day just to recover from a 12 hour bus ride. Turkey is a beautiful country, lots to see.

It certainly mucked a few of our plans up but I guess you can’t help these things 🤷🏽♂️ Just the usual paracetamols and ibuprofen 😀
