    Marco van Basten was one of the greatest center forwards ever. What a tragedy that injury cut his career short.

      He is very recognized by people who watched him play. Football is like that.
      You are young so you have never seen Romario play and you think Portuguese ronaldo is a better striker than him.
      Your current players don't impress us at all despite their records.
      We know what we saw is better and we know young players don't know

    When see his goodbye to the fans and Capello cry I can't keep my eyes dry too. So intense and emotionial. He was way too young to stop playing football. Who knows what he could win more with A.C. Milan and the Dutch national team. A true legend retired that day in San Siro.😔🙏

    Salvo el mundial de 1990 donde tanto individual y colectivo Holanda decepcionó,y nunca se a dicho que paso, por q realmente Van Basten fue una sombra,de Gullit no se tenía mucha confianza debido a que venía de un año sin jugar y su nivel fue en ascenso de hecho ante Irlanda y Alemania en octavos fue la figura, pero no tenía a su receptor estelar , para la euro 92 tampoco anoto gol pero fue mas por mala suerte que por capacidad, su partido mas discreto fue el.debut ante Escocia pero jugo mucho mejor que los 4 partidos del 90,en el segundo juego le anularon un gol ante la CEI asi como una atajada imposible en ese partido,ante Alemania una exhibición total y una volea de el no fue gol por q no quería entrar la pelota,ante Dinamarca lo mismo, lastimosamente en la definición por penales su fallo determina la eliminación naranja

      @@bulldogjoe1804 ah that was too early for my era. My first European Championship I saw was when Denmark won it 1992. But I do know Van Basten made one of the best goal in that 88 tournament. Was he "injured" when he made one of the goals of the century?

    • @bulldogjoe1804
      @bulldogjoe1804 Год назад +1

      @@SurferWilly No he just came back from an injury. Almost did not make the squad for the tournament. Luckily for us he did. The Kohler tackle did not injure him that time but it was the beginning of some murder attempts on his ankles. He was dead tired when he made that wondergoal. Thats why he took it on the volley because he was to tired to control the ball and continue the attack.
