  • Visit www.miriamlavelle.com. Ms LaVelle had a fleeting, uncredited appearance in this film - but she got to dance with Gene Kelly, albeit her routine pales agains her usual vibrant acrobatic showcase. Ms LaVelle looks more mature in this film than in Seven days ashore, where she looked sweet and girlish. They were both released in 1944, and, one assumes, were in production in similar time frames. Unless Seven days ashore was one of the RKO flicks Howard Hughes made and then sat on for several years.

Miriam Lavelle dances with Miriam Nelson (in the pink/orange dress) who was married to Gene Nelson and is a reknowned Hollywood Choreographer. 2 dancing Miriams in one number!
