WOW! AMAZING! I came here to thank you cause now my wife is making her own clothes. She is 5'6 230 pounds. She made that dress from our thanksgiving tablecloth. I got new curtains from Bed Bath Beyond cause she used the old ones for a skirt and turtle neck shirt (shinny red and green) with socks and half gloves. I still buying my clothes at Armani's store, I told her, she is only great making big girls clothes, plus she can use our old bed sheets, I'm thinking of buying new ones for our guests

I would only offer one suggestion. When you go to put the elastic under the bust line, do it BEFORE you sew both side seams. Sew one seam, attach the elastic, then sew the other seam. For new sewers, that makes it easier. Having said that, this is a cute and quick dress. :)
I am so jealous of you!!! You have the talent of making your own dresses any time you want! I mean you mite see a dress some1 is wearing or the TV and make one of your own... Sigh, i wish i could do that. would have made things so much easier for me. You know what! no more moping around! i am going to buy a sewing machine tomorrow!!!

hey can you show us how to make a corset dress? like its like a corset at the top with strings to tighten it and its ruffles at tge bottom and its basically sleeveless. a little thicker than spagitti straps tho.. do you know how to make that?
