Internal combustion pornography right there. I've been left for dead by Tom's creations many a time! The XJ12 race car seen on the dyno is a real stunner- when you meet that car on a straight it feels like you're going backwards, I'm convinced that it's not out-accelerating other cars but in fact reversing the earths rotation and pushing the whole race track out from underneath it's wheels!

Big thanks for posting this brilliant behind the scenes workshop of Toms. Top guy and also thanks to him for allowing the video being made. Organised and methodical, the only way to do a proper job. Just subscribed and looking forward to more of the same.

Yer he really is a top bloke. And wasn’t sure at first about the camera being waved in his face. But you can see he takes it all in his stride and it ended up being us chatting cars and looking at interesting stuff which seems to work well in these vids.

I remember talking to the jenvey guy at the NEC classic motor show when the heritage TB’s were first out, I was trying to convince my dad to put his fulvia zagato on a set and ditch the temperamental dell’ortos.
    Top work geez 👌

    • @mikefpe
      @mikefpe  2 года назад +1

Thanks Ed, really enjoyed filming and editing this one. The heritage tb’s are ideal for a classic so you don’t lose the original look. But gain the drivability and reliability. Not cheap tho 😳

why not just fix what is wrong with the Dellortos? I always preferred them to Webers for road use, they're a great carb and far from temperamental in good fettle.

Fantastic👍 Love Jags. Reminds me of being an apprentice and replacing the rear cage mounts on E types and XJ's. Seem to remember that we used to buy many parts from his Dad back then in the late 80's. Good to see such quality work. The E type is such a beautiful car and only second to the Muira for me. Lovely MK10 (or is it a 420G?). Really nice setup Tom has there. His skill and knowledge shines through in the vehicles.

if you remove the bell mouthed weber ram tubes and put rolled full round ram tubes i can say another 45 bhp on your v12 = and a big torque gain with top end big improvement = try it you will be shocked !

  • @BillyBoy444

Really interesting piece and nicely put together..... does he do anything with the later Jags like the S-Type / X Type with the 3.0 V6? Would kind of tie in with Fords, as that's basically a Mondeo engine with VVT I think..... I know Mountune used to do race versions of the 3.0 Jag V6 and they were about 375 BHP...... Always loved Jags though of any era.

@@mikefpe Thanks for the reply. Note this is all constructive info below, and not being a jerk, but want to help seeing as you politely replied to me. Thanks for that.
Sorry if I was a bit rough on you, but watch it yourself like you were some real car guy who has a serious interest in that sort of thing, (like me), and notice how hard it is to actually hear what he had to say. and to focus on anything with the camera shifting all the time.
Now there were some slow shots done well, and that was good as we can see detail. That looked professional.
Now when you get into doing something new, watch videos with a critical eye and see how the best ones are done.
Some dummys still hold the phone like they were taking selfies, and that is really horrible. Especially if they are trying to sell something on BaT that they really want to get good money for.
Also before you do an interview talk a while with the person and get some info that you might not know, so you don't ask a questions or make a statement that make you look like you are the 'usual uninformed reporter'.
You see that a lot. Best to take a buddy with you who knows what he or she is doing, and run through it a bit before starting.
Doing it segments is helpful and you can merge them later and cut out what you don't like.
This way he can get both people talking and can get in a position so the viewer can hear both without straining their ears.
Also remember when you are using a phone/camera you really can't see the scope of thing when you are trying to carry on an intelligent conversation, as you are trying to do too different jobs, and that usually doesn't work well if it's an interview.
Here is an example of using the phone wrong.
I had my helper who used his phone like people always tend to do, and see how much is lost.
      Even with full screen. ruclips.net/user/shorts5BLdTqlxelM
Here's a very short video I did of a coffee table I sold on BaT this week. They showing how easy it was to take off the wheels to make it stationary. It was the first of a series, but
      You get the idea. ruclips.net/video/CeRGO6VjNtk/видео.html
Here are two videos take of Mia playing the same song in different places with two different phone positions.
Big difference if you are watching on a 'real screen' like a computer.
If watching on a phone it really doesn't make any difference as you can't see squat on a phone.
      studio.ruclips.net/user/videoQd1zBlHut2g/edit
      studio.ruclips.net/user/videowTdb4_cjGas/edit
Hope I have helped, and not just criticized like most do and with no worthwhile suggestions.
We see that all the time in politics, but we won't go there...
      Cheers!
