    Well done; pallets are so handy. I lay them down and cover with clear plastic to warm soil, and later start seeds under; put hoops over for low tunnel. Grass or leaves could be stuffed in the space between the wood slats with an outer cover (vertical built) to make a cold frame. I’m burning some for bio char today. Helpful video, yes!

    Great video, I recently built some raised beds out of pallets- I had very large pallets (roughly 6x5'). I had broken those down to individual boards and rebuilt them into 5x2x1' beds. Very laborious. With how little time I have these days, I think I'll be making a few of these beds next year.

    Great video. I have used discarded rolls or scraps of roofing fabric that our local roofers dump after finishing a job site. As you know these are thick so that they help line the raised bed to keep the soil within. Yes, pallets are a great source of material that is cheap and useful as raised garden beds. And the 4ft by 4ft dimensions of these beds seem ideal in size for the small yard that I have at home. Keep up the good work.

    I'm a fan of using stuff around the place that would otherwise go to the dump. I have old corrugated galvanised sheeting that I'm bolting together. I've also got a stack of pallets, but my concern is that they'll rot after a few years and I'll need to redo

    • @LifeWithQueenii

      @@bluegtturbo I mean if it rots it didn’t cost much to make but I haven’t experienced that as of yet. The pallets were free so it doesn’t bother me but I understand what you mean

I'm reading up on Hydroponic lettuce. Maybe eventually will try that. I did notice yesterday I have a tiny rabbit that had found his way into our back yard 🐇🐰👀👀🤣🤣.

    Would the roots grow through the fabric. I made a small pallet bed and made the mistake of putting in holes so that the roots could extend into the soil and now I get weeds(beneficial, although I dont use it) but only tend to grow during the winter, I did not lay down cardboard. This year I plan to build more beds not with pallets because I want them longer in length. I am very frugal and rather not spend the money but I am going to suck it up this time it may cost me about $50 for the wood for two 4x12 beds. Happy gardening.

    • @LifeWithQueenii
      @LifeWithQueenii  6 месяцев назад +1

      You can put cardboard down before the weed barrier, but please remember there are weed seeds in soil even the soil we buy… it happens

    • @tiffanyvanlengen4393
      @tiffanyvanlengen4393 6 месяцев назад

      I only covered the bottom of my pallets in my pellet garden if I'm doing them vertically. I actually cover the ends that are completely open with the weed fabric in staple it on. Then I just lay the whole pallet down. You don't have to create a raised bed with it you can use the pallet itself as a raised bed and double it up
