In Romania we have the same tradition of the hard boiled decorated eggs which we break with the dear ones in the heart of the family right on Easter Sunday. It's getting more and more exciting all the more the family is bigger! If the eggs are broken, we have to eat them. It's common to bake "COZONAC" which is a typical Easter dessert that looks like a roll filled with sweet cocoa, raisins, Turkish lokum and walnut. It's so yummy!!!! Great video, btw! HAPPY EASTER!!
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful Romanian traditions with us. It was so interesting to read. Thanks too for your kind words. Happy Easter!!
When you said Easter bunny in your lovely English accent it reminded me of the Vicar of Dibley Easter bunny episode. That one is one of my favourites!!!
In Poland Easter Friday and Easter Monday are free days. We don't give Easter Eggs as gifts. Kids play Egg hunt, but we don' t have egg roll game. In Poland there isn't an Easter Parade. People go to Church on Saturday.
Thank you very much for sharing your Polish traditions with us. It was really interesting to learn what you do for Easter. We wish you a happy Easter weekend.
Oh girls, this video has done so well! Was so happy to see you got a mini viral Vlog out of this! And it’s obvious why too. This was perfectly done, beautifully put together with the overlays and as always the wonderful banter between the two of you 🥰 Some great facts, girls! Xx
Thank you so much for your lovely message. It means a lot. We were thrilled to see the video do so well. We just wish we knew what the secret is - so we can do it again, lol!!
This is one of those videos of yours where I'm really struck by how us Canadians really straddle both sides of the fence... some things we do are very American, while others are completely British. I can't imagine this time without chocolate and hot cross buns! Thanks so much for this one Brit Girls!
It is interesting how Canadian traditions are a blend of both, you are right. Haha if you have chocolate and hot cross buns then you have two if the most vital British customs in our opinion! Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for sharing your Canadian Easter traditions. I love the idea of getting a new outfit for Easter! 🤗 Love all of the food choices too - yum! Happy Easter! 🩷🐣
It was a basket full of candy with a chocolate bunny for us in the States while growing up. I like the idea of chocolate eggs. We definitely do the hard boiled decorated eggs here too. Cadbury still has the same commercial for their chocolate eggs that has been running for decades, it's a great one. 📺💯🌱🌞🥚🍫
Nothing beats an easter egg hunt!!! hahah! That is by far the biggest part of Easter than I miss from my childhood! There used to be such excitement every year being able to go into the fields and forests surrounding my primary school to hunt them down! I wish they had a socially accepted adult version! haha!Great work as always from the both of you!
An adult-style Easter Egg Hunt would be a fantastic idea! In fact, we're making a video for this Easter entitled '10 Romantic Easter Date Ideas You Haven't Tried!' and this is one of the suggestions! 😁 Hope you both have a brilliant weekend! ❤️
Awesome video 👍 really cool you covered the history of Easter. I grew up with Easter egg hunts and eating a great dinner as well as going to church. My daughter enjoyed decorating eggs this year and spending time with family. Hope you and yours had a great Easter 👍
Thank you for sharing your Easter memories with us. I bet your daughter had a really fun time decorating her Easter eggs. It's always nice to spend time with the family. Mum returned home to Arizona after being away for 8 months, so we had an extra special Easter day this year!
You all are always so fun to watch !! I always learn so much !! Kind of surprised you all eat lamb for Easter, I’m not sure why. I’ll go watch your short next. I love hot cross buns, I had no idea they were associated with Easter. I also think in the US when I was little more women and girls wore bonnets for Easter and Passover. I know because my mother made me wear one and I hated it so much, not sure why I did, but I did. In our home my husband always leaves plastic eggs with clues and makes my kids go all over finding more clues until they find their big basket of goodies. This year my husband said he may even lead them outside the house to make it longer. In our home this weekend we are in an interfaith marriage. This year passover and Easter are on the same weekend. So we will be celebrating both this weekend. We hope you both have a lovely Easter.
Hi Sonia, thank you so much for your really interesting comments. Firstly, we personally do not eat lamb, lol! Just the thought of it is too much! Yes, Hot Cross Buns are so delicious. How lovely that your husband always hides Easter eggs with clues for your children. It's so special carrying on these traditions. Very nice for your family that this year Passover and Easter are on the same weekend. Have a great family celebration!
Dolly Madison was a good hearted woman. Not just the "Easter Egg Roll," but she also works from sun up to sun down making her snack cakes for everyone to enjoy! Better than Chocolate Easter Eggs, we enjoy biting off the Chocolate Easter Bunny's Head here! We enjoyed your Easter tradition video. Have a very Happy Easter, Julie and Lucy.
Lovely video ladies...We always's colored eggs for Easter...this year I paint poured some fake eggs instead...worked out well, the Grandchildren now teenagers loved them! Happy belated Easter!
That was interesting I am surprised the States don`t have the Monday as part of the Easter Holidays I was`nt sure of Lamb for Easter Sunday but my Mom has just confirmed it to me lol, I am hoping to do Hot Cross Buns this week at some point but i like the idea of your Hot cross scones less work for me haha have a good week ahead
Yes, agree. We were surprised Easter Monday wasn't a holiday in the States. Thanks Andrew's Mum for confirming lamb is an Easter dish! We're looking forward to watching your Hot Cross Buns video! Thank you very much, Andrew. We wish you and your mum a good week too!
There were a few things that were similar to the US. I grew up putting on my Sunday's best and going to church. There, it would be a very loooooooong service! Afterwards, we would enjoy an Easter dinner. I no longer subscribe to those traditions anymore but I understand why some people still do.
That's so wonderful & informative video about Easter.🌼💛 Thank you Julie & Lucy for sharing such awesome content & beautifully explained, presentation too.👌💥 Absolutely enjoyed watching it with big thumbs up.😊🎉
Happy Easter weekend! I enjoyed hearing about the differences. For us here in Canada Good Friday is a holiday but Easter Sunday is not. I guess the governments only wanted to mandate one holiday for the month. I enjoyed learning about the hot cross buns.
Hi there!! So so happy you enjoyed it!! Very nice that you get Good Friday as a holiday. We miss that here in the US! That makes sense. I have noticed the UK has a lot more holidays that most places! Hot Cross Buns are the best with such an interesting history! Thank you for such a great comment!
That was very good research and very accurate. Yes, we eat ham for Easter but also eat a lot of pasta, rice, or potatoes. It is nothing like the US Thanksgiving but enough to stuff us for the whole day. Just to let you know, there are only 11 US federal holidays but Good Friday and Easter Monday are not one of them. Also, we used to get off during Easter week in the school year and called it Easter break or Easter vacation (back in the 1960s) but that was changed to spring break. This was done to not offend non-Christians.
Thanks very much, Larry. It's always good to enjoy a feast of goodies over each holiday season. Thanks too for clarifying the number of US federal holidays. Oh, interesting about the changing of the name of the school break from Easter break to Spring break. Have a great week ~ Julie & Lucy

Easter memories as a child in 🇳🇱. Church on Good Friday , the service commemoration the crucifixion and at 3pm the church bells would toll and all would be silent for 2 minutes. Easter Sunday, table laid with 'special occasions' table cloth and after Sunday Mass a lovely breakfast including soft boiled and also decorated eggs, the Easter loaf with almond filling inside and lots of cups of tea to wash it down. I know we painted eggs and I vaguely recall the egg hunt. In 🇳🇿 We learned about Hot Cross Buns. As an adult I became more involved with Easter celebrations. Went to the Blessing of the Holy oils Mass Wednesday evening to be followed on the Thursday with the service washing of the feet and last supper. Walked the crucifixion walk with the parish community on the Good Friday. The Resurrection Mass at Midnight on the Saturday ( Like midnight Mass at Christmas). Once home a hot cross bun and cuppa before retiring. Sunday a feast meal with all the trimmings and yes, lamb. The lamb is symbolic - Lamb of God! Connected to the Exodus. and the freeing of the Israelites. Easter is the No.1 religious celebration in the Catholic Church ( the new beginning) although you can't have Easter without Christmas. Happy Easter to you and your families. 💖 🙏 🇳🇿 🙋♀️ 🇳🇱

Ah that was so nice, loved the editing and info. But no eggs given out at Easter?? That's terrible 😀 You asked for our Easter traditions, well in our family Holy Week started today with our church Palm Sunday Service and then we will go to a Good Fri Service and Easter Sunday service. Hello my Lovely, thank you for sharing your family's and your country's Easter traditions with us. Haha, I agree...if the egg's not made of chocolate, I'm not really that interested, lol! I remember when I was young (this is Julie) and my little brother found where my mum had hid all the Easter eggs and he opened and started on ALL of his - AND mine!! I've never gotten over it!! 😫 Lucy and Katie always loved Easter eggs and wearing their Easter Bonnets! Lot of love - have a wonderful Easter! 🐣🐰❤
It’s very interesting that the US don’t have the Easter weekend as federal holidays… like you said, for a very Christian country it seems a little odd. My Easter traditions were hot cross buns toasted with a little butter or jam for breakfast, a roast mid afternoon and then a finger buffet in the evening… plus an Easter egg hunt, followed by eating more chocolate than I should have 😂
We agree Nathy. One of my American friends told me today it's something to do with the separation of church and state, but it sound more like am excuse to keep people working to me!! 🤣😂 Oh we LOVE your Easter traditions. Ours mostly evolve around sweet treats too 😋 thanks so much for watching!!
Good Friday and Easter Monday are not legal holidays in the United States because of a constitutional principle known as separation of church and state, something embedded into our constitution as a result of its framers being informed by the experiences their forerunners had of not being able to worship freely in their own way in Britain. There's no reason for you not to know that, so don't pretend you don't.
Thank you for your feedback. According to research, Christianity is still the most prevalent religion in the United States and the UK. We really appreciate you watching our video.
In Brazil we have the big egg shapped chocolate in the supermarkets to sell like the USA but we do not have the tradition of egg hunting or any of those things, ( this is not the reason for it) but in brazil we have many cristian churches that do not celebrate easter is it is because we belive when Jesus celebrated the holy super the easter were abolished (terminated) so we do the holy super insted once a year, but of course catholics do celebrate easter in Brazil.
Thank you so much for sharing your Brazillian Easter traditions. We LOVE the sound of the big egg-shaped chocolate! 😋I hadn't realized that some Christian churches don't celebrate Easter but instead have a holy supper. Very interesting. Best wishes ~ Julie & Lucy 😊😊

Happy Easter from Pakistani Christian
Thank you for the message. Happy Easter to you too 💛🐰💛
Good Friday and Easter Monday are not legal holidays in the United States because of a constitutional principle known as separation of church and state, something embedded into our constitution as a result of its framers being informed by the experiences their forerunners had of not being able to worship freely in their own way in Britain.
There's no reason for you not to know that, so don't pretend you don't.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We appreciate your visit to our channel.
great video, very interesting. And alittle shocking that easter eggs is not a big thing there. 🙂
I know, right? A big shock to us! Thanks so much for watching! 😊
What surprises me is that Christianity still exists in America and UK and Europe. Aren’t those countries buddhist or atheist ?
Thank you for your feedback. According to research, Christianity is still the most prevalent religion in the United States and the UK. We really appreciate you watching our video.
@@The_Brit_Girls and I appreciate you for making this . Happy Easter ❤️✝️
@@The_Brit_Girls any chance England and the states would revert back to their roots in faith ?
