Very interesting. I do not know why I did not respond before; however, I did respond to some commenters. Sorry for being late. Anyway, it is fun to show the comparison in a general way. Of course, there are so many variables and everyone is so different individually on both sides of the Atlantic. So here are my comments. 1. It is true most American men are more confident than British men but most American men still cannot “catch” women even if they are experienced. As I said before in another video, the woman has to ask the man out first. The reason why is because women have to screen out the man to see if he is right for her. She has to find out as much background information about him before she ask him out. Remember, she is looking for husband material. An old Irish lady once told me this “women chase men until they get caught”. This is very true. Most American men do not see it this way, unfortunately. If I touched an American or British woman lightly, I would be slapped. I guess it is just Hollywood. 2. American men asking a stranger on a date? This is true but not always effective. Be prepared for a lot of rejections and I mean a lot. Is love at first sight real? In my experience, no. Real love is for mature people who are responsible, committed, mature, well balanced, healthy and fit, flexible in hard times, respectful of different people (not always easy), and honest with their partner on what they want in life on the first date (i.e., does he want to have children or not, can he relocate to another place, etc.). He must also have a job that makes decent money. To find real love takes time. I met several couples who did not fall into what I described and they all ended up in divorce. 3. Asking questions is very true for American men but I noticed American and British women never asked about me. In other words, they are not interested in you. Again, be prepared for a lot of rejections. 4. True about most American women but I did not know that most British women were not that conscious of their appearance and other things. Good to know about British women. Who should pay on the first date? It should always be the man on both sides of the Atlantic. You only go Dutch when are dating after a few weeks. 5. True about income and it applies to both sides of the Atlantic and beyond. Do not kid yourself. No woman is going to date a man who does not have a job and does not make decent money. 6. Coffee or a drink on an invite? Well, I really have no experience on this so I will go by what you say. 7. This is from my other video. He looks, smells, and dresses as good as you on your date. Very true! And my exposure to British men that I met tend to dress very well during work and after work and on weekends. They just do it naturally. I cannot say that for most American men. This is one attribute American men should copy 100%. Brit girls are correct. 8. American men are equally committed just as the British men; however, that only applies to mature American men. 9. All American men go by good looks in women. So this is true. 10. Protocols? It varies from person to person. 11. It does take time, do not kid yourself. And I would not rely on dating applications (not apps because that is so 21st Century). You have to be careful on who and what is out there. Security/safety and privacy are very important.
Hi Larry, thank you so much for taking the time to watch this video and for sharing your experiences, thoughts, and perspective as an American man. I am going to pin your message so that others can find and read your very helpful comments too. We wholeheartedly agree with your last paragraph: safety, security, and privacy are of the utmost importance.
So true. I’m a Brit trying to date in America. It’s so different here. Casual dating here is like ‘playing’ bf/gf without actually being bf/gf. Very odd (to me) 🤷🏾
Thank you, Rich for your interesting feedback on the dating scene here in the US. Thanks also for subscribing to our channel - welcome! We really appreciate it 💖
I'm an American girl trying to date in America and I'm inclined to agree actually. That's something that changed in my lifetime. It's like now, you go on a date with someone and you can't date anyone else, that's it and that's all. That's been my experience anyway. And they're right I think about it being nice to have a laugh and be a bit self deprecating. Guys, at least in Philly from what I've noticed, can't laugh at themselves and that's a deal breaker!
I'm moving to England soon and loved hearing the comment on how they dress better for a first date. I was tired of American guys showing up to our date in a hoodie, sweatpants and flipflops. It's always a turn off.
Good luck with your move to England, we hope all goes well. We couldn’t agree more - we want guys to look like they’ve made an effort on a date. Please let us know how you get on!
Very interesting topic, even outside the context of dating. It gives us a lot of perspective about cultural differences between the 2 countries. Great video!
As an Irish-American I found this very interesting. What are some of the differences between the way a British man dresses or an American? I’ve always heard that notion, that British/Europeans dress far better on a date.
It's so interesting you should ask, because we have a video on fashion differences coming up in the next few weeks! But in terms of men on dates specifically, we've noticed that there is a lot more sportswear or gym wear in the US particularly, and the clothing tends to be a lot baggier and looser which can be less flattering, and often keep their hats on at the table. British and European men usually appear to have put more thought into their attire. Let us know if you agree!
@@The_Brit_Girls I definitely agree with your perspective. American guys love to dress casual/comfortable. Pop-culture has tremendous influence on our culture.
I am a Mexican American who finds British/English men incredibly attractive. They seem to be more kept to themselves, conservative and intentional. Nothing beats a Mr. Darcy.
It depends where I’m the uk as you get up north things can get a bit messy 😂 I’m from the south and now live in the north like another species up here 😂
But you might be surprised with the Tom Reinhart character (from Beauty and the Briefcase movie). He is the composite of the bland and boring man that women secretly are looking for. The Tom character is what a lot of men are - totally opposite in what women are looking for (adventure, trips to foreign lands, accent, exotic foods, etc.) but in the end what women are secretly looking for.
I agree that most British men would expect something further if you’ve paid for dinner. However, I’ve always seen it as the gentlemanly thing to do regardless of where the date is going, but if they insist that they want to go Dutch then so be it! I also think the confidence thing is true, I’ve always been quite shy, even more so around a girl that I fancy! 😂 I think the whole committed after one date is something that is very true in the days before all the dating apps. I feel now, it’s commonplace to have multiple dates if you haven’t spoken with someone about being ‘exclusive’ for want of a better term!
Aw we think it's nice you want to be gentlemanly, Nathan 🙂 Aww I was always super shy around guys if I really liked too before I got married! You might be right about the dating apps changing things. That's a really good point! Thanks for sharing - this was super interesting!
I think a lot of young girls are very self-conscious, and confidence develops as time goes by. We hope you enjoy your first real date and that it is always special to you 🥰
Ladies this is so funny. Absolutely love this video. I just learned a lot about British men. When I was in England 20 years ago I met some British guys that were in their twenties. I would definitely agree with you I'm quite a few things you said just from my experience. Thanks for sharing enjoyed see you soon.
I’m an American man and I started laughing about Americans asking for a coffee date because that is exactly the kind of date I took my wife on for our first date 😂
@@The_Brit_Girls a coffee date at our college in Indiana! By the way I love this video. I want to visit England so badly. Would love to speak with English people. I’m curious if my accent is really prominent which I’m assuming I would stand out when I would speak to someone over the pond.
Lots of great things in this video! I will say that me personally didn't really care how others thought of my significant other, as long as I was happy, than that's all that matters. I remember I felt a connection when seeing my wife for the first time, and than it slowly blossoming to us almost being married for 4 years, coming this Sunday on the 21st. Thanks for making this video was a lot of fun to watch! Hope you guys had a great Valentine's Day!
Oh my gosh, Julie mentioned the British newspaper the telegraph and that was iconic. I didn’t know that was a real thing! You hear them talk about it in movies but you never know what’s real! On a separate note, I agree with splitting bills or like one pay the bill, other pay tip. And since we are talking about money, I think that employment matters like - we should both be able to hold our own unless jointly agreeing otherwise but to judge a person based on his/her income is sad. Not everyone can be rich. Love and kindness is much much MUCH more important than money in my Canadian opinion 🖤 awesome video guy! So many interesting points and thoughts brought up! :) definitely a great way to start a conversation.
Haha oh yes, it is real! Although probably mostly read online now. That's so fun that you knew it from movies! Yes totally agree with everything you said about money. Its good if people are on the same page with money right from the start otherwise it can cause problems further down the line. And yes, a good heart is worth more than any amount of money 🙂 so happy you enjoyed the video! Thanks for your great comments!
You girls are fabulous! I went on a date with an American guy (I’m in U.K.) and he was very full on from the beginning. He said things like what a great match we were, how much he liked me etc. It was all very positive, but obviously as a Brit that’s not what I’m used too. Do you find thats rather common in US guys?
Wow - thank you, Emma! What a lovely comment! In our experience American men are like you describe. They are more positive, and full on than British guys, and more complimentary 😊
I'm a Filipino and it seems like the dating style of the brits are almost, "almost" the same as ours here in the Ph. Especially with the part when you said brits tend to overlook at the physique especially when they like the person a lot and also commitment with that person. Idk if anyone else feels the same. :) ALSO: I agree with the who should pay thing. I don't think it's the guy's obligation to pay for everything. It's safer if you both pay for your own expense to avoid expectations :)))
So interesting that things are so similar! Thanks for sharing that. And yes totally, we ladies have to look after ourselves and paying for ourselves is one way we can do that. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment 🙂
But most American men will pay for a date anyways (and we'll let them and almost expect them too), knowing that there is a BIG chance that the woman won't go home with them. I don't think most American men pay for a date with the expectation of something happening after the date unless it's like the 3rd or 4th date. An American man can correct me if I'm wrong but that's just been my experience as an American woman. Great video by the way! This was fun to hear!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience of dating American men. It’s good to know they are very gentlemanly on their first date. That has been our experience too (although we’ve each only dated one American man, and we are now married to ours, lol!) Thank you for your kind comments, we’re glad you enjoyed our video!
I love your accents and I’m a British lady ! I’m really starting to appreciate British culture and how we speak. My 12 year old son uses American terms all the time (from the net) like ‘pot luck party’ and I correct him and say ‘no we are British, it’s a one dish party !’ 😂😂
I love the details you place into this video! I’d 100% agree that American dates are bit more interrogative since people like to make sure you can keep up with their financial level and make sure you’re worth investing time into. You gotta be a provider first and lover second VS opposite with British approach! Dating in US is very high maintenance and since traditional marriage is still a top priority for many American’s, they make sure their partner is financially stable. And I think that effect US men’s confidence in approaching women since it’s still a patriarchal country men still have male ego in their favor to approach women more than some British Blokes!
lol it’s me again, I have to say that I definitely am confident now after this video BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO SCREW MY DATE WITH THIS BRUT UP so it’s nice to know that the internet is a kind place at the moment ❤
American veteran divorced and recently retired with long interest in old roots and history I hope to explore in the UK at length now. Seemed a logical step for me then, being single, to also seek a UK partner too. No luck with the apps though as even I have no interest in an LDR… This is how I found your page and found it helpful. I’m in Virginia, though committed, sold my home and figuring out the next move in what I hope is a good, if not eccentric, plan!
Welcome to our channel! You are speaking our language - we both love researching historical topics and family history. It is often difficult to connect with like-minded people, especially with a long-distance relationship. We have both experienced the latter, and it is not easy. For us, it was worth it in the end as we both married our American husbands! However, we did meet face-to-face and not through a dating app. Good luck with your next move! Sometimes it is worth taking a risk.
Haha, well don't expect a lot of details lol! And of course, all women are different, but it is not uncommon for British women to disclose that they are seeing others 🙂
I’ve always struggled to understand why British women say American men are more confident (including my own mum lol). I grew up and live in America but I’ve been around both British and American men (family and friends) and noticed that British men are genuinely confident and less insecure where as American men show a confident persona upfront but are very insecure behind closed doors, especially about their own masculinity.
Oooooh these are very interesting comparison! OMG Im so uneducated! what does this part mean? 1:23 it's so interesting how different dating is! I was interested to see how dating apps might be different, so I'm happy you covered that! :D
5:45 Yes, yes and yes! That summed it up right there, the amount of Americans shows that portray where you see friends/partners/lovers go for a coffee over a drink in the evening, it's almost uncanny And I agree that us Brits, we are straight into a lover relationship without meeting the parents, I never met the parents of my ex! Mainly because they were out when I went around her house but that's another story for another time haha
Thank you for these tips. It's my first time to date a british guy and i was surprised when he asked me to go for a drink and i didnt feel comfortable. So I told him to go for coffee instead...hahaha I didn't know it was just normal for them..I'll take note of your tips! Thank you!
Hi Veronikka! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. Yes, it is quite normal to go for a drink on a first date, but that being said, if you don't feel comfortable with that, you should suggest something you feel more comfortable with. Which you did, well done! We wish you all the best with your new relationship. Best wishes ~ Lucy & Julie
@@The_Brit_Girls yeeyyy thank you for your response and for your support.. more powers to your channel! I am looking forward to seeing more dating vlogs from you 😙
I’m an American with the last name of Hensley, what sets me apart from from most men in the world is that I’m fearless nothing scares me I’m 6’2” 230 lbs and in shape. Not bragging just the truth looks are not my thing I care more about personality and someone’s integrity more than looks! I’m half Swedish quarter Irish and quarter Native American! Think about the possibilities. Oh yeah I live in Alaska
Hi Daniel, thank you for your great feedback! I agree, personality and integrity far outweigh looks. How wonderful you have such a diverse mix of heritage - and that you live in Alaska! How cool is that!! 👍😎
Hey, big bonus. I just subscribed from this personal account to you guys. Whoo hoo. I'll head to Ryne's next although let him know we WANT MORE VIDEOS! :-) Just kidding. We know he's probably crazy busy this season as I recall him saying he's an accountant.
That's so kind of you, Theresa! Thank you! Ryne's very happy too! Yes, he's certainly ridiculously busy at the moment, but hopefully not for too much longer! We all really appreciate your support! ❤
as for "who should pay" honestly its whoever asked out who on a date. Generally yes the men pays first date and later on a couple months of dating later It'll start to become splitting the bill or make deals like Ill pay the movies>she'll pay for the snacks then it just becomes whatever> your both are there to have fun.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on who should pay. This sounds like a very good and fair arrangement. We really appreciate you watching our video. Best wishes ~ Lucy & Julie
I do believe in love at first sight or rather I believe in the "he's caught my eye" at first meeting which could lead to love. Every single person I dated I do remember the moment we met and one fellow I even started dating a couple of days after we met. I actually met him & my husband at the same exact time - I chose the first guy because of age appropriateness since we were both still in HS and my husband was 4 years older (which isn't a lot, but when you're in HS and the other person isn't it's a huge deal). It wasn't a huge deal to me if my guys met my parents. I maybe should have been more ramped up about that, but to me it was like "Meet my parents." I was MUCH more nervous to meet the guy's parents. Who should pay? My husband & I are very much traditionalists in that we believe that the guy should pay which works out for us. However in college - I frequently offered to pay or at the very least reached for my wallet before the guy would say, "No I've got this." The funniest bit is that prior to us starting to date he picked me up for breakfast because I was home for a wedding. He wanted us to get together before I went back for the semester. I told him where to pick me up and left the computer lab. When we went for breakfast on September 21, 1997 - I pulled out my wallet and he responded, "I've got this." I didn't want to cause a scene so I let him pay. When I returned I got the email he had last sent - "You know if I pay it's a date." Sometimes we joke that our first date was when I was dating someone else. PS: I did break up with my boyfriend that night and the next day he asked me out for real because he had been waiting for me to be available to date for about a year, but I was oblivious.
Totally agree! Some people do just catch your eye, don't they? And that attraction can grow. Oh yes, four years is HUGE in high school, which seems so funny when you are a little older and it's nothing! I also get nervous before meeting the parents lol! Its far better to not make a big thing out of it. Aww that first date story is so cute! You just made my heart melt. You should tell that story on your channel. I think people would like that 🙂 Thanks for sharing! It was interesting hearing your thoughts 🙂
Then there's those of us who have been in America for a long time, but who have maintained the British sensibilities and manners! We behave how American women would expect all the while being seen as proper and gentlemanly. American women seem to love the British accents... they work like a charm!
My british date always serves me his english tea and now that is far he sends lots of it to prepare myself. Love him dearly, even if he say that teas from my country are cr*p. 😄
Aw, that’s really sweet that he sends you English tea❤️ Do you prefer English tea or the teas from your country? Thank you very much for your comments 😊🌸🌺
Let's face facts, everyone is firstly physically attracted to someone in someway and with that you then find out if you're compatible, the only people who can skip the looks thing is the blind and that's what happens when you get drunk 🥴 😉
American woman also go Dutch on the bill too when going on dates. I’ve been single for the past 5 years, and believe me each woman I went out with insisted on going Dutch. In fact my last girlfriend who was from India, insisted we go Dutch throughout our relationship and we dated for 3 years. So I’m guessing it’s an Indian thing too. 🤷🏻♂️
I met a British man from Facebook. He is kinda fast approaching about relationship. He said its love at first sight. I am from Philippines by the way. We are dating online. He said and plans many things about future with me.. and now im still confused whether he is true to his words or not. Plans of coming here this November and settle down with me. To see is to believe like the saying. My American ex fiancé when he says something instantly he is providing actions not only his words.. and Americans are consistent in communication when you have relationship with them.. all day you are updated. British??? Im still observing. We are talking then suddenly he is out without saying anything.. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Hi Jenna, thank you for sharing this with us. We would say, regardless of nationality, you should be a little wary. He is saying one thing but behaving in a different way. We wish you good luck and hope you find someone who you truly deserve. Take care and be safe ~ Lucy & Julie
American guys it’s like if we see a woman that’s attractive we definitely not gonna miss the boat on her. Because you may never see her again so we taking shots like MJ in the 4th qtr
So I have a question because it’s so different only way or the safest way to date over there is I have to know someone who is in both social circles. So the straight approach won’t work right
@@Mr.Burton17 The straight approach may work because it's so refreshingly different. At least the person knows exactly what you're asking! Good luck and please let us know how you get on!
Very interesting differences! Great video ladies! So I don't believe in love at first sight, but I do believe in lust at first sight. Funny, I didn't like my husband AT ALL when we first met!! He truly is my soul mate, and I definitely didn't feel that on day one, or two, or three. 💙
Haha we agree with you with "Lust at first sight"! How funny that it took you a while to like Kenny!! Isn't it interesting how it comes on slowly sometimes? Thanks so much for sharing! ❤
Based on what you say, it seems like I am more like a Brit. I don’t judge a partner mainly on looks- it is more about personality to me. Thanks for sharing this video- interesting to see the differences.
Hello Ghost Girl, thank you very much for watching our video and for your feedback. We hope you get the opportunity to meet a nice British guy one day 💖😊
I'm an American woman and I have no problem going Dutch. I'm not the norm as far as American women. In America we are often judged by our looks and weight. I'm not this way. I'm more interested in how I am treated. I won't date online. I want to meet face to face.
Interesting topic. In Canada I think we are in between what you describe. We go Dutch and we want the parents to approve but if they don't it is not their decision.
Haha, we often joke that, had he been British, he would have had that hand slapped away 😂😂🤣 but because he was the suave American with the extra confidence it worked!
As an American, one of the problems I have with dating apps is that some guys want to meet up way too soon. 😅 Like, I've never met anyone I've only talked to online in real life, so I don't know how long it'd take me to be comfortable. However, I'd guess it'd take, at least, a few weeks.
Hi Ms. Kitty, thanks so much for your feedback! Yes, I agree with you. I’d rather get to know someone really well before actually meeting up with them.
@@The_Brit_Girls You're welcome! Exactly, because they're total strangers. I'd want to, at least, have a few phone calls with them and run a reverse image search on their photos.
Not all Americans lol I’m American and I give it a good month of seeing if who I’m talking to is crazy or not before I ask them out, no matter what culture your from everyone is different.
@@williamreece5763 That's really a good idea. Honestly, though, sometimes, you could be dating someone for a long time before you find out that they're crazy. ._.
i can see the differences for sure i know back in 2016 i met a girl on a dating site that was from derby uk and was living near where i lived for some sporting thing and the bar we met up at was considered a dive bar to her so it seems like they betters tastes on where to go for dating and everything for sure
Hi Tony, thank you very much for sharing your story. Haha, certainly sounds like she had good taste - in where to go on a date, and in the choice of boyfriend!
First date/meeting is usually just a drink, so buying a lady a drink wouldn't be expensive and if she liked you could then buy the second drink, if either of them didn't like the other it's just a drink and could leave after the first drink, unless he bought a pitcher then that might be awkward, so perhaps that's why American men do lunch time coffee because it's cheaper and easier to escape. Once you established how you may feel towards each other then you could arrange the true 'first date' with terms and conditions.IMO
Ladies if I had to do it all over again I would've dated & married a British lady instead of marrying an American lady then getting divorced in July 1992. I love your accent too. So cool. I'm an American by the way
One diffrence is population density- i live in a little town in the US- I would have to drive 30 miles to meet somone suitable, according to this dating app im using. Now if i lived in a major city, of course it would be different. Doesn't britian have a bigger population density overall? Does that make it easier? Also, since people in Britain mostly date within thier circle, how do dating apps work?
That's very interesting. In the US, in the country, you are very spread out. A friend of mine in the UK has dated guys in London, which is 100 miles away from where she lives! It really depends whereabouts you live. Overall, it probably makes is easier in the UK, unless you are living in a big city in the US. Dating apps in the UK are very popular, just like in the US. Thanks so much for your feedback and your questions, Meredith.
Commitment from date one, yikes, never heard of that. And going to a coffee shop on a date !. Thought that something that only happened in soppy romcoms.
Haha, really? I have definetly had guys assume that a date meant I wouldn't see anyone else so I became very direct about the situation BEFORE going out so no one got hurt. Although, as someone else commented, dating apps maybe changing that a little. Sadly coffee shop dates are very real and absolutely terrible! Thanks for your great comments as always!
I would love to say thanks so much now i have an idea of the man i am going to meet soon because he’s a British man, the Americans are surely different from them so i am glad i watched your video here. I will watch some of ur videos from now. Have a great day
Thanks very much for watching and leaving a comment. I think a lot of British women are looking for someone with a good sense of humor. They need to be kind, respectful and optimistic 😊
You're correct, it isn't common for American women to expect to pay, and for me and my friends, you got the reason right: if you can't pay for drinks and dinner/an activity, then you must be broke. I would be extremely offended to be expected to go dutch. And I don't mind saying no after he pays if I want to!
In US, if the guy doesn't pay for you it means he is strongly disinterested in you; like you aren't even worth the common courtesy. Even if the match has no future, the guy still generally pays. The other side of the token is that many American women get very gussied up for a date (hair, nails, outfit) and since that all costs money, they see it as a fair split when the man then pays for the date since they've invested into it ahead of time. I personally align more with the Brit approach of "come as you are" - but have noticed that women in the more stereotypical "high maintenance" areas of US act as if a date is a payment and they are a product to be bought. It's quite sad actually.
Ugh, I hate that the English actors have sort of influenced my perception of English guys. I am madly obsessed with Eddie redmayne and I assumed most were like that, but they most likely aren’t 😂
Oh, I love Eddie Redmayne too! Haha, no not all British guys are like him! Hopefully, you'll meet one who is...you never know! Thank you so much for your fun comments! 😀💖

No. Women do the real chasing. Again, men cannot chase women to save their lives.
So true. I’m a Brit trying to date in America. It’s so different here. Casual dating here is like ‘playing’ bf/gf without actually being bf/gf. Very odd (to me) 🤷🏾

Thank you for your insightful comments and for the compliment! Much appreciated!
Hello from New York City! Love you two together, so adorable. You two made me laugh about the coffee/drinks comparison. I'm subscribing :)
Hello Sophia, and welcome!! Thank you so much for your fabulous comments and for subscribing to our channel! It means a lot to us 💖
I just came back from LA, having gone on a few dates, it was the biggest culture shock. I agree with most of what you said!
Oh my, that's very interesting to hear!! LOL!! Thanks so much for sharing this with us! 😀💖
Darcy.
Ooh yes, totally agree - nothing beats a Mr. Darcy! 👍😀 Thank you for your great feedback, Kat 😊
It depends where I’m the uk as you get up north things can get a bit messy 😂 I’m from the south and now live in the north like another species up here 😂
@@benjones1180 here's a song I wrote about a British man. ruclips.net/video/QvavzNemorU/видео.html
I love your accents! And yes, I agree that American men have no shame asking a perfect stranger out on a date! 🙂
Thank you very much for your great feedback! We appreciate really appreciate it! ❤️
That is great no shame!!! British way to cold or lack of confidence 😝
I think the whole committed after one date is something that is very true in the days before all the dating apps.
To me going Dutch looks stingy and is not shyness is pure coldness emotional constipation 😫
Aw, this was so informative and fun to watch! I have to say this is pretty accurate too!😆
Thank you for the fabulous feedback! Glad to hear we're pretty accurate with our research, lol! 😂
As an American girl, I'm very self conscious and honestly, I've never been on a REAL date 🤷🏻♀️😪😅🤦🏻♀️

Thanks Angela - we're so happy you enjoyed it! Great too that you could agree with some of the comments we made about British chaps! Lol! 😀😍

Thank you for your really nice feedback and your very interesting comments! Happy anniversary on the 21st and hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day!
Thanks for the great video! :) Really spot on!
Alicia, thank you very much for the great feedback! So glad you agree! 😀
@@The_Brit_Girls you're more than welcome! :)
Some American men put on a facade in exposing their so-called positive side. Be careful.
Generalizing maybe, but I think you got it pretty right! For men and women
That’s great, thank you very much!
I'm a Filipino and it seems like the dating style of the brits are almost, "almost" the same as ours here in the Ph. Especially with the part when you said brits tend to overlook at the physique especially when they like the person a lot and also commitment with that person. Idk if anyone else feels the same. :)
ALSO: I agree with the who should pay thing.
Thanks for your fun message! Haha, need to keep up with the 'proper' British terms! 🤣 Thanks also for complementing our accents 😁 You're very kind ❤️

Thank you so much for your lovely message. It means a lot 😊💖
Hi Aya! Thank you so much for your insightful and interesting feedback. We agree with your synopsis. Thanks too for your kind words ~ Lucy & Julie
That was an interesting comparison for sure!

I was once told by an American girl on a first date that if her dog didn't like me that it would be a deal breaker.
Lol, I'm sure that dog was a very good judge of character! Btw, did you pass the test?

Hi again, Ross! Thanks for your message. Take care 😊😊
I really want to believe that a brit girl on a date will reveal her romantic meetings with other men!))
Thank you so much for your perspective on this. Interesting observations. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts we us.
100% in agreement with this. Americans portray a false persona as soon as they step outta that door
It's not common in American culture to laugh at yourself. In Britain it's part of the culture. I'm an American married to a Brit.
That is a really good point. We totally agree with that. Thanks so much for watching!! 🙂
I like the age gap here- it offers slightly difference of perspectives. (Most channels like this are 2 girls or guys at about the same age) ❤

as for "who should pay" honestly its whoever asked out who on a date.
It was interesting hearing your thoughts 🙂

i can see the differences for sure i know back in 2016 i met a girl on a dating site that was from derby uk and was living near where i lived for some sporting thing and the bar we met up at was considered a dive bar to her so it seems like they betters tastes on where to go for dating and everything for sure
Hi Tony, thank you very much for sharing your story. Haha, certainly sounds like she had good taste - in where to go on a date, and in the choice of boyfriend!
Haha seriously
First date/meeting is usually just a drink, so buying a lady a drink wouldn't be expensive and if she liked you could then buy the second drink, if either of them didn't like the other it's just a drink and could leave after the first drink, unless he bought a pitcher then that might be awkward, so perhaps that's why American men do lunch time coffee because it's cheaper and easier to escape. Once you established how you may feel towards each other then you could arrange the true 'first date' with terms and conditions.IMO
Yes, good point about the coffee date. Much easier to escape from! and sort of like a pre-date. We hadn't thought of it in those terms. Thank you.
Ladies if I had to do it all over again I would've dated & married a British lady instead of marrying an American lady then getting divorced in July 1992. I love your accent too. So cool. I'm an American by the way
Hi Michael, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Thanks too for your kind words 😊💖
Thanks so much for your feedback and your questions, Meredith.
i feel like this is more of America vs the whole world

@@The_Brit_Girls aww~thanks, you too girl :)
Then I dated an american and I never realized it, he invited me for a cup of coffe and he even paid OMG!!
Haha, very nice indeed!! Thanks for your feedback!
No real man would ever let a woman pay for anything on a date.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate it very much.
Having never dated an American, you definitely have the upper hand ✋
Thank you for bowing to our greater knowledge and experience! Lol! 😃
@@The_Brit_Girls I don't know about knowledge but definitely experience 😏🙂
I would love to say thanks so much now i have an idea of the man i am going to meet soon because he’s a British man, the Americans are surely different from them so i am glad i watched your video here. I will watch some of ur videos from now. Have a great day
Oh, how wonderful! Good luck with your future British man! Thank you for making our day! 💖
So fun 😆❤
Thank you so much! 🙏😊
Lol this has been the complete opposite for me. British men have been way more bolder along me out than any American guys 🤣
Oh my, that's funny! Thank you for letting us know! 😀👍
Very interesting video... taking notes. Lol.
Haha, hope we gave you some extra material - not that you need it at all!
@@The_Brit_Girls I knew a lot of it but hearing some of the differences between us and British men was interesting but not shocking.
So what do you think would be #1 on the list for British women?
Thanks very much for watching and leaving a comment. I think a lot of British women are looking for someone with a good sense of humor. They need to be kind, respectful and optimistic 😊
@@The_Brit_Girls Thanks! ❤️
Loved listening to you ladies. I am going to England and rather like the man paying for everything. I guess I was raised that way.
Thank you so much, Diane. Hopefully, the man will be a perfect gentleman and insist on paying!
@@The_Brit_Girls I am sure he will. I will be staying t Cliveden Country club. I am learning British sayings.
@@dianepinkyharman1346 That's wonderful! I'm sure you'll blend right in and be "chuffed to bits!" Have a lovely time.
😂 well Starbucks is a very popular 1st date place here in America
It is convenient, we can see that for sure! Thanks for stopping by, you guys and Happy Valentine's Day!
I couldn’t not pay for things eActually if I asked her for the day
That does seem like a nice, gentlemanly thing to do 😊 Thank you for watching
I’ve got to ask - what did it mean that the Brit man would just do a Mickey (instead of touching your leg?)
Ohh probably should have elaborated on that! It means to tease or make fun of someone in a playful way 🙂
@@The_Brit_Girls because you KNOW in America slipping someone a Mickey is VERY bad.
It is?? What is that?
@@The_Brit_Girls A "Mickey" is a drug slipped into a drink. Also known as "Date Rape Drug."
It may help you understand the meaning of ' taking the Mick' and it's origins if you look it up on Wikipedia 🙂👍
Funny episode us English men 😂
Gotta love em! Haha! Thanks, Mike 🤗❤️
It may not be Dutch courage🇳🇱💪, it could be beer goggles 🍺🥽
Oh, good point! 👍🍻😆
You're correct, it isn't common for American women to expect to pay, and for me and my friends, you got the reason right: if you can't pay for drinks and dinner/an activity, then you must be broke. I would be extremely offended to be expected to go dutch. And I don't mind saying no after he pays if I want to!
Hi Rose, thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and experiences. Well said!
I'm from Britain and i sound more like the american from your viewpoint
That's very interesting to learn! Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate it.
I'm American and feel the opposite lol
Seems to be a lot to like about dating British ladies....but what does "take the mickey" mean?
Oh yes, absolutely! 😀 "Take the mickey' means to tease or make fun of someone in a playful way 🙂
Hi, it may help if you look up 'taking the piss' on Wikipedia 🙂👍
For really i want to marry a woman from Europe or America
We hope you get your wish. Thank you very much for watching our video.
