It looks like the party has no way of debuffing foes or moving foes away from vulnerable allies, which causes most of the battles to devolve into what i call 'punching matches' which in D&D terms is trying to hit the enemy for enough damage to take them out before the enemy does the same thing to you. It can very effective, but in the long run the saminess of the battles make it kind of boring.
