I travelled to Ethiopia back in October, '18, and it was one of my favourite travel experiences. I really have a craving for their food again, some fish fir fir mixed with Injera bread, or the Shiro paste. It's a seriously under rated foodie destination, with a tragic irony that most 1st worlders associate it with famine
They say he was on some kind of weird medication (prescribed drug). Also he was away from his family a lot and the majority of his life was spent in a hotel/travelling. These journeys/recordings are awesome to do but once it's over your basically a lonely guy in a foreign hotel.
Yeah that's what part of the medication was for. But yeah he was depressed and went to a therapist. However sources say he that although he was depressed there where never clear signs he was suicidal. Thus they think the drugs basically "took over" and gave inserted an "urge to kill himself". Apparently for some reason the medication can make them go darker way more than the actual depression, they simply have no control. Not trying to pretend I know what happened: but that's basically what i tried to explain in the first comment.
Ethiopians are such wonderful people. Lived there for 6 years and miss it.

median age is under 18. I am 45, then I must be a dinosaur compare to them. I am also concern about their healthcare system.
That's why it really is a concern. Can't expect living in longevity in Ethiopia. But I must admit, though, Ethiopian cuisine is delicious!
Fun fact the median age of the worlds population is under 30
