I'm a carpenter, live in county where the US NAVY has a war college.
the college is on the west shore of a large island in a bay, to west of island, another good size island, mostly residential, on the west shore of bay, a US army supply base with an airfield.
one day around 2002 Old Man Bush flying in to hold speech at War college graduation. I just happen to be working in backyard of house right on the shore right across bay from college , RIGHT ACROSS....maybe a mile at most of water between me and it.....about 15 mins before Bush was supposed to take Helo from base to college, the Coast Guard and Naval boats and Helos all over the place.......1 CG Helo, flying the coast I was working on, stopped at about 100 feet elevation a cpl hundred yards off the shore RIGHT in front of me....could see the guy manning the 50 cal in the ope door and the pilot scoping me out with binoculars.....that 50 cal. was trained on me and my coworker.....held up my hammer and saw, pointed at Gazebo and waved.......they flew off......but yep, had a cocked and loaded 50 cal...staring at me..

And this pilot was chosen PURELY because of his talent and experience. Race had NOTHING to do with it.... yeah. And health care insurance didn't go up and we all got to keep our doctors and plans.
