    No need to reply. For those that have a leak and are looking at the Water Inlet Valve--make sure your connections are tight before ordering this $60 part. I removed the component as per this very helpful video and found no damage or failure. So, I reinstalled it with a little Teflon tape - tightened the connection (not too tight but tight) and ran three cycles and no leak. Also, if you have the part number there are other outlets that offer a manufacturer OEM part for a lot less dosh--so shop around! Good luck and remember--they really don't make things like they used to.

    Before replacing the valve check it for continuity. If water enters the washer chances are the valve is good. It may be the filter screen is partially blocked. If you have already removed the valve simply clean it and reinstall it. Start a cycle and see if the upper arm rotates. if it now rotates, the water inlet valve was partially blocked and the water level was not getting high enough before the valve would close.

      " If water enters the washer chances are the valve is good." Definitely not true for me. Took out valve. Checked water pressure and no problem. screen had little debris. Cleaned thoroughly. So in my case, water entering the washer meant the valve was bad. Replaced value and it works like new.

    Hello and thank you for these videos, they have been a godsend on multiple occasions. I might have a problem that you may know of or have an idea for a direction I can take. I purchased a brand new Whirlpool dishwasher (model# WDP540HAMZ) about a year ago and we have had issues here and there with the dishes not coming out clean but for the most part it seemed to be working fine, especially when set to the heavy setting. However it stopped washing the dishes completely a few days ago, will just hum off and on like it wants to work but all we ended up with was standing water in the bottom and a bunch of steam.
    I pulled the unit out and so far I have cleaned the filters, checked the water line for adequate pressure which it provided, removed the water circulation pump which had no blockages in the impeller nor in its housing. Checked resistance and continuity which it has both and spins as expected. Pulled the drain pump and did the same, found a twisty tie stuck in the drain hose but other then that it passed my tests as expected. Checked the float switch for the *click* and resistance which it passed and I just finished pulling the water inlet valve which had no blockages found and hooked it up to a power source and the water line and it appears to allow a decent amount of water through with a good deal of pressure. So I am stumped at this point because what else could it be?

      I had to take all of my sprayers off…using repair clinics videos to learn how…they were disgusting…ending up taking all my inside the tub parts out and washing them outside. Many times my sprays have pieces of food/seeds in them…the reason I’m looking for another solution to the nasty junk in the tub/parts.

    Our whirlpool dishwasher will start up and sounds like it starts to fill then stops partially through a cycle, occasionally it will run a wash cycle then do that on the rinse. We figured it was the inlet valve but after replacing that with a new one the symptoms are the same. What would be the next step or possible cause?

    It appears my machine (one in this video) will only partially fill with water. There is only a little water in the bottom of the washer. It performs all other aspects of operation as designed. Electrical controls, drain, etc. Just doesn't fill enough. So I hope that is the issue. When it is done filling, the water isn't over to the float. Only a little water in the center area. So I am hoping the valve is the issue. If not, I'll just get another machine. Interesting though, not telling anyone anything they don't already know, but my first Kenmore lasted over 20 years without a hiccup. Since then, I am on my 3rd machine. It's a shame.

      I hear you! Our whirlpool washer & dryer 26 years! Granted, my wife replaced at least 4 different times parts thanks to these video's, but when the waterpump replacement project lead to the hose popping off and flooding the room, we called it... time of death... ;o) And the whirlpool dishwasher I'm working on now, is less than 2 years old... got it during covid and didn't get extended warranty... contemplating trying to repair this, or just save us years of aggravation and just buy a top of the line Bosch and enjoy it for the decade before we move...

    This looks like an easy repair. Here is my dilemma: before I spend $60 on this part--I would like to be a little more confident that this is the source of my leak. The symptoms are when the device runs full cycle--there is no leak. At the end of the cycle is when there is a leak. The source appears to be the Water Inlet Valve, but it seems odd that it doesn't leak until the end of the cycle--and it is just a slow drip. It drips for a long time and I would say approximately a 4-6 oz of water in total. Does this symptom sound like it is the Water Inlet Valve? Thank you for the very instructive and complete video. Of course I know any answer will not be 100% Any direction or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  9 лет назад +1

      +G. Levine It is odd that it would leak at the end. The water inlet valve allow water to enter the machine so you would think the leak would occur during the beginning when it is in operation. If you order with us (repairclinic) and it is not the problem the part can be returned.
