      @@patrickd8654 "They" can't be humans because if humans were not gonna survive in the first place then how could there be "Future Humans"
      Or to simply put, this means that no species on earth should ever go extinct
      because their "future intelligent self"" will come and save them.

    • @patrickd8654

      Side note: Most species on Earth will never have descendants intelligent enough to develop space travel.
      Main point: Futue humans creating the time loop is not necessarily a paradox. It would be possible if the eternalist view of time is correct, which the movie explicitly assumes to be the case.
      From a five-or-more-dimensional perspective, the past and future always exist. As Brand said when she was Blatantly Foreshadowing (as Nolan characters do), the future is like a hill and the past like a valley, and the five-d people can access them as easily as humans move around space.
      There was no "first place" in which present humans become extinct, because the future humans were "always" there to help them.
      Even if the wormhole builders are not humans from the future, the movie still requires circular casuality. Cooper sends a message urging his past self to stay, which past Cooper disregards. He sends past self coordinates to NASA, which past self follows up on. And he sends past Murphy data from the black hole (Murphy was about 90 years old when Cooper entered the black hole, but about 40 when she got the data he sent.)
      All three are unambiguous cases of future events causing past events.

      @patrickd8654 10 месяцев назад +2

      IF they are us from the future (a big "if") then present humans survive into the future precisely because the future humans helped us.
      The movie very explicitly embraces the "eternalist" view of time, with some of Nolan's trademark hamfisted exposition to make that clear.
      The premise is that the past and the future are just as real as the present, that they "always exist" and that five-dimensional beings are able to move between past and future as easily as humans walk up and down a hill.
      In other words, there is no "first play through" in which the future humans do not exist yet to help the present humans.
      To be clear, I don't agree with all the slavish Nolan acolytes who think the movie is clear about whether the time loop was built by future humans. All we have is Cooper insisting (via Argument by Assertion, perhaps the most obnoxious of all logical fallacies) that humans built the thing.
      But whether humans built it or not, we still have Cooper sending his past self messages, including the coordinates to NASA. So the movie requires eternalism and circular causality regardless of who built the time loop.

    • @patrickd8654
      @patrickd8654 Год назад +2

      Truly delighted that I am not alone in thinking that. I don't even necessarily think they are malevolent.
      But there is definitely a lot more we don't know about them than the average Nolan acolyte who thinks he figured this movie out realizes.
      My head canon: Contrary to Cooper's entirely baseless speculation, the wormhole and the time loop were not created by future humans. They were created by aliens who are native to the galaxy that includes Gargantua, but who have outposts in multiple galaxies.
      The aliens also created the blight, which is why it is so resilient, is so widespread and is able to rapidly evolve until it eventually kills every kind of crop, which would be kind of ludicrous if it were a naturally occurring blight.
      The whole thing is an effort by the aliens to force humanity to move to the alien galaxy, for some inscrutable motive that only five-dimensional space gods would understand.

    trust in the word of God, Matthew 7:24-27 Jesus says here, Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. Jesus saves, God bless.😊😊😊😊

    • @jollyroger2012

      That's a sound settings issue on your part rather than the movie itself. I had to play around with my sound system settings a bit but once I did everything was clear and the effect levels were still enough to blow me off the couch
