Today, I'm (Trevor James, The Food Ranger) traveling along with my wife Ting and bringing you in for a FULL ON street food tour of Terengganu, Malaysia! This is the home of delicious GIANT seafood and incredible Malaysian cuisine!!
Today we're bringing you in for 7 street foods! And first up, we're stopping at perhaps one of the most famous street foods of Terengganu, the Nasi Dagang!!!
►Restaurant name: Nasi Dagang Atas Tol, Terengganu, Malaysia
After this , we're bringing you in for a famous Malaysian street food, a little similar to roti canai street bread and curry, except here it's made in a unique shape and texture and colour that you need to see, the roti jala style!
►Restaurant name: Roti Jala King, Terengganu, Malaysia
And then after this, we're going to a FAMOUS Warung AKA street side restaurant to taste some incredible east coast Malaysian food, including the BUDU fermented anchovy paste and ikan patin tempoyak fermented durian fish curry!! And of course kampung chicken curry!! And it was full of delicious seafood too like the ketupat sotong stuffed squid!

Oh how I miss Malaysia. The great shopping, wonderful people and THE best food in all of South East Asia. BBQ frog legs, Fried Stingray, LaLa, Chee cheong fun, Laksa, Nasi Goreng, Mee goreng, char Kway teow. Where I live in Australia we have some great attempts at many of these dishes but never as good as what you find in Malaysia.

I'm Malaysian and I love Indonesian foods too... we are different in similarities. I just discovered in Indonesia (Palembang) there is dish called "Laksan" which the ingredients are almost like our iconic Laksam in Terengganu ( 05:56 in this video).

each states in Malaysia have their own 'trademark' foods and cuisines based on their people and geographically itself. In terengganu itself, fish become their main ingredients in few signature cuisines like keropok lekor and nasi dagang because of their geographically area that located near the coastal line . @@bobhensem3425 being born in the east part of malaysia , im definitely more used to the sweeter curry. even my family can't really tolerate much heat when it comes to some of the west side of malaysia but the sweeter drinks makes up for the spicy food!
I used to bite the fresh birds eye chilly during my meals when I was in my thirties. As age catch up, my stomach cannot accept the chilly anymore.
