Today, I'm (Trevor James, The Food Ranger) traveling along with my wife Ting and bringing you in for a FULL ON street food tour of Melaka, Malaysia! This is the home of NYONYA cuisine and so much more!
Today we're bringing you in for 5 street foods in Melaka! And first up, we're starting off with a FAMOUS Malaysian breakfast dish with so many EGGS and ROTI, the EGG FRY NINJA Roti Canai!!! This was incredibly delicious, made with sambal, dal, roti, eggs, and also a very delicious NASI LEMAK!!!

We are going to keep creating videos for you in Malaysia after the semi-lockdown ends here in Kuala Lumpur, and for the time being are staying at home indoors. We have one more video from Melaka left and then we will maybe do a home tour video as we moved to a new place a couple of months ago and would love to show you! We also just got a puppy called Muffin, a corgi! Life is changing for us as we've spent the last 6 years as full time travelers and haven't had a real home life, which we are enjoying now while the pandemic is going on. After the world goes back to normal, we will continue traveling around the world and have a friend come stay at our place to look after our puppy :) That's the life update! Haha! Malaysia is soooo lucky to have you during this pandemic, you have a chance to promote so many food from Malaysia, and that is so wonderfull.
I believe it’s the other way around though...
Given the current circumstances, the choices and combinations of foods here in Malaysia are limitless!
When the pandemic is over and people are allowed to enter Malaysia, visitors all over the world will visit Malaysia again just for their foods, the nature and the Malaysian hospitality, definitely!

The Nyonya Laksa is amazing! Nyonya Delight is a real hidden gem of Melaka. Friendly aunty is a ex-hotel chef. Was a real challenge to find the shop but trust me guys, the journey was worth every bits. You get to experience the kampung area of Melaka, enjoy sea breeze and paddy fields. I miss Melaka!

It would take years to cover all types of Malaysian food and still wont be enough time. i have lived my whole life in Malaysia and yet have not tried many thousands of Malaysian food yet 😊 Btw Malacca is a World Heritage City, so very historical!

Oh yes you can. I've had it in KL, Selangor, and Melbourne, several times made for me by a Malaysian friend, or in Malaysian restaurants. I have even made it myself, and mine was pretty good.

it's so beautiful to see how talented these street food vendors are in so many different parts of the world...it's so effortless the way they make and prepare their foods, that's an art in and of itself...wow these street foods look legit...so yummy! Stay safe and safe travels as well!
meanwhile in USA fast food workers heat up frozen food in microwave, put it in a bag and hand it to you with a dirty look in their eye.
Locals are so lucky to have everyday access to such dishes that they can hardly imagine it!

2. The squid mee goreng looks yummy and seeing squid cut up like that reminds me of Japanese izakaya preparations of grilled squid.

Just a small little tidbit tip on Bahasa Melayu. In Malaysian & Singaporean Malay, the locals usually pronounce Terimah Kasih as Terimah "Kaseh". The strong "Kasih" pronunciation is usually only done in Bahasa Indonesia :)
It amazes me how quickly you could learn a foreign language and just speak it on your trips. You are so talented and respectful of other countries' culture! Your mouth can do so much more than just eating! I love your videos! Stay awesome!
