- This video features the 2nd of my two models from Cozmic Scale Models, the 1/72 Starfleet Headquarters Airtram. The video begins with a brief look at the kit followed by the assembly which includes adding lights. I continue on with the building of the display base and diorama which includes 3D printed pieces for making the track and side wall. The diorama is also detailed with figures that were also 3D printed. The video concludes with a final review of the project.

Figures.....I drew from 2 sets. One is a link to the file containing over 200 figures. Many of the women figures were too dressy or too casual. So I also drew from a much smaller set of 7.

Cool idea for a display Oggie, great job on it! Marc's 3D stuff really added to it as well.
It was a fun project for sure. Thanks Boyd. Always great to hear from you
Echoing what has already been mentioned, you can turn the simplest models into something amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much Kevin
Awesome kit rondebary would be so proud of you and the work I've done for Trek fans alike 👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much for the kind compliment.
Excellent as always. That shuttle always reminded me of similar designs, like Ark II, The LandMaster from Damnation Alley, Supertain, and so many early 70's sci fi car designs.
Thanks Richard
As usual, Gene Rodenberry loved to reuse things as often as possible. The Air Tram is almost exactly like the Sub Shuttle from the two failed pilots, "Genesis II" and "Planet Earth".
@@martykarr7058 That too.
This build is awesome! So many cool details and additions bring it to life. Marc did a great job designing the track and wall, 3D printing is such a great tool to have!
Yeah…3D printing has certainly added a whole other level. Thanks Ken
Thank you Ken!
@@InterstellarModeler the nx-01 always looked more practical and well closer to our time than the future of 23 and 24th century.
Very nice Oggie! Looks amazing. Thanks for sharing. 😎🇨🇦
thanks Peter
Once again Oggie you’ve knocked it out the park! A really lovely kit and you in miniature too! 😂
thank you Derek
This came out fantastic, great work here! The base really sets off the shuttle and the figures and painting add to the diorama .The best parts are the figures of your self and Captain Archer-I guess there was more time traveling in Enterprise than we thought!👍👍
Lol….Thanks so much Bob.
Very nice build of this kit! The diorama really adds to the full effects of the first Star Trek movie!
Thanks so much
Hi Oggie, I love your channel and the wonderful builds you share of your differnt Sci Fi model projects! After seeing your build of the Cozmic Scales Starfleet Airtram, I had to order one for myself which I just did this morning. The size and detail are perfect. And your build with the Evans Designs and Brickworks lighting is great. Along with your great tutorial on the foam core base. And the great added figures, including your confused transported self on the cell phone. A nice Alfred Hitchcock-like touch! Please have a great day and thanks again for your wonderful channel.
Thank you so much Fritz for your very generous compliments. So happy you enjoyed this build. It was so much fun to create it all. Have fun with your build. Send a picture when it’s completed. I’d love so see it. Thanks again
Great work! Amazing the amount of different species in that Star Fleet HQ scene. Love the jacket also!
thank you very much
A beautiful model complemented by a lovely display base! This is definitely a unique piece to have in any Star Trek collection. Thank you for allowing me to contribute and for the shout-out! Well done!! 🖖
You're welcome.....thank you much my friend
Fantastic! I recently watched the remastered & restored motion picture. Great job in the details, capturing that scene which reintroduces Admiral Kirk.
Thank you very much
You do a great job of turning these relatively simple models into something special. This video is a great mix of kit review, build showcase, construction challenges, and techniques. Thanks!
What a nice compliment,
Thanks so much
What a great build, Oggie. The Andorian was especially awesome to spot. I Love the Star Trek ENT swag your sporting. How fun. Keep up the great work. Cheers - Virgil.
Awesome....thanks so much Christopher
What a beautiful build, great job Oggie! The base is really cool and a superb job done by Marc again.
Thank you Kenny!
@@MarcFraley you're welcome you always do fantastic work my friend.
Thanks so much Kenny. Always great to have a little help from your friends. :)
So satisfying! One of my favorite trek movie scenes thanks to the production design. Excellent work. Thanks for sharing, this my therapy. 🖖
Thank you very much....one of my favorite scenes too. Appreciate your kind words.
Not sure what I love the most, your work on the model, or your T-shirt a the start of the video :)
Lol....thanks so much....Logic is coming....I sure hope so. LOL.
I watched a video recently talking about the original studio model and how it was modded and used as several different shuttlecraft and transport ships. this model would be a fantastic start for a kit bash
Interesting info…thanks David
Absolutely gorgeous job.
Thank you
I'll NEVER GET THAT SCENE JAMES T. SHOWED UP AT STAR FLEET.... I WAS BACK IN 1979, ABOUT 20...
JUST STARTING OUT
IN LIFE....THE ENTERPRISE WAS NEW...AN SO WAS I!!!
amazing how much time has gone by
Above and beyond once again! Really excellent job on this!
Thank you very much
Loved the Andorian and Archer figures. I often wanted to put myself into a diorama. Thanks for the video. Keep it up. John S..
Lol….Thanks John
Awesome!
I recently ordered a 5 meters roll of COB LED strip for a similar continuous light on an upcoming project. Basically tinier SMD modules in such short succession that there are no longer gaps in the strip. Learned about those from Bill Krause after he started to use them in the nacelles of his ships.
They are great . Thanks for the compliment
Oggie what an awesome job; I love the way the project turned out. Your Easter Eggs made me laugh 😄 Cheers!
Thank you very much Dale
Very nice diorama. Unique subject I haven't seen done and you did a great job.
Thanks so much
Awesome job
appreciate it, thanks Lewis
This is the perfect channel for a project I have been thinking about doing. I was thinking about making a diorama that recreates the scene from Star Trek 2, were the Enterprise refit is hunting down the Reliant in the nebula.
That sounds awesome. Thanks for watching
I really like your videos, you did a fantastic job on that model! A small suggestion for the internal improvised styrene diffuser - i have used the protective caps from paint brushes to great effect for similiar projects. They come in various sizes, opaque and also clear. They can easily be cut to shape and are readily available.
Great tip thanks. Will definitely look into this. Appreciate your kind compliments too
Awesome build! Always a treat watching your build videos.
Thanks so much Nathan
Great build and very nice and helpful tips Oggie! Take care!
Thank you very much
Pretty sweet! Love all the lighting. The whole thing turned out awesome!
Thanks so much DJ
Wow, looks great! Well done with the model and diorama scene!
Thank you Fredrik
Loved the build and all the detail. Really cool.
Thanks Shawn
That airtram reminds me of the shuttles from V the miniseries from the 80s. Construction paper also works in many cases for light blocking purposes.
It does resemble it for sure. Appreciate the tip thanks
Very nice build, might watch The motion picture tonight in fact...thanks for sharing and stay safe!
Thanks Jean...I love the latest remastered version too
@@InterstellarModeler I'm amazed at how they held true to the original theatrical release with the new CGI effects, even kept the grain in the image quality, I'll have to tell you about when I first saw TMP when it came out originally...quite a story!
AWESOMENESS OGGIE!! Nice work sir! Bravo!!
Thank you David
I love that movie, I love that scene, and I love YOUR work…!!
Thanks so much
This is incredible Oggie! I absolutely LOVE THIS!!!
Thanks so much
Fantastic looking diorama!
Thank you David
Hey Oggie
Great outcome, I really like your people on the platform...actually thought of Enterprise when I saw the back figure, cool you added yourself as well. I like the Enterprise jacket you are wearing.
Take care of Yourself 😊
Thanks so much Tim. Always a pleasure to hear from u.
@@InterstellarModeler
You are welcome and very kind of you to say🙂
Absolutely Amazing! It looks beautiful!
thank you Mark
Thank you Interstellar Modeler. Wonderful work and cheerfully presented. The enthusiasm is positively influential. FYI The girders under the tram in the original matte painting appear to show it is hollow underneath going down to a much lower level. It creates the sense of greater depth to the landing. Best wishes on you and your channel. Cape of Good Hope Peninsula South Africa
Thank you Matthew. I really appreciate your kind words. Great hearing from you
You have improved, I'm very impressed.
Thank you
Really nice job. Marble floor looks excellent. Just one point - the amber light on top is a beacon not a siren 👍
Really appreciate it, thanks
It looks so nice as diorama! Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome, Thank you very much for the nice compliment
If you want to shift light color from warm to cool, you might want to pick up some "CTB" theatrical gel. You can get it in a variety of densities depending on how much color shift you want. (CTB stands for "color temperature blue".)
To shift from cool to warm, you commonly want "CTO" (color temperature orange) gels.
These get used by photographers regularly, specifically to modify the color temperature of lights.
Appreciate the tip, thanks. I tried paining clear blue onto some aluminum tape to see if it would reflect a more cool temp but didn’t do anything. Will keep that in mind for the future.
Looks real good and spot on. Thank you for sharing.
Your welcome and thanks for watching
Wow she looks amazing
Thank u Travis
Complimenti per i tuoi progetti, molto belli. (Congratulations on your projects, very beautiful.)
Thank you
Very nice indeed.
Would love to see you tackle a Dinosaur kit one day (but I’m biased with those kits).
Will need to save up some pennies before getting let loose on that site.
thanks lain. Dinosaurs definitely look like fun....just no room for another genre of models Lol.
Turned out awesome
thank you
This was fun to watch. very nice.
Appreciate it Brandon, thanks
Great work!
Thank you
I DON'T CARE WHAT SOME OTHER's SAY ...
I THINK STAR TREK
THE MOTION PICTURE,
WAS AND IS..ONE OF
MY MOST FAVORITE ST PIC's.......
I agree. It is an outstanding film. Unfortunately it was rushed out of production and the editing suffered as a result. Tainted everyone's experience for sure. The new version is a completely different movie and is now what it was meant to be. Thanks for watching
OMG Oggie, What a fabulous diorama ! I can only expound ( TIMES TEN ) all the other comments already here. Love the whole thing, especially the paint work on the figures... Excellant ! Maybe to fragile to go to Wonderfest, But I think you should consider it, Also where did you get the wire cutter and the NX-01 Enterprise and a big thank you to Mark & Keith.
Oh hey...thanks for reminding me to place the link about the wire cutter. I will see if I can take to wonderfest. I have an idea on how to pack it. As for the Enterprise uniform, I purchased it from an Ebay seller who has become quite the hit with the Trek Cosplay community. I'll place the link to that as well. Thanks for your kind compliments as always.
Great job. Very cool
Thanks
I've been looking forward to this one. Nice job!
Thanks so much

A great scene for sure
HAVE A GREAT

Great Job Oggie.
Thanks George.
Love it, great work! But I think you may have Admiral Kirk's uniform wrong. Although it does look greenish in your reference photo, I think you'll find if you do more image searches, that his uniform is white and dark grey. The greenish tint is probably an illusion, maybe a product of lighting and film distortion over time or something.
Hi Dyson...thanks so much. Regarding Kirk's uniform, The Making of Star Trek the Motion Picture notes the uniform was actually a color called Loden Green. No doubt it's one of those colors that can appear different as lighting conditions change. Thanks for watching
@@InterstellarModeler Oh! Interesting to know, thanks! :)
Fantastic!!!! I love this!!!!!!
Thank you
Beautiful 😍 🤩 👌
thanks so much
I love the Star Trek enterprise uniform. Is it a jacket? or the full uniform?
Thanks Tom...its a full on jumpsuit. Awesome .
Thank you
Came out great! Did you have a link to the cg trader figures?
Thanks and yes I just added them. I meant to do that but forgot. One thing to note, the crowd of 200 figures is great but couldn't really use a lot of the women figures for starfleet. The woman in the shuttle came from a smaller set. both links are now provided. Thanks for asking
It kinda looks like a shuttle from the original series of V, back in the 80s.
sure does
Is there a Sidney class Model kit out there?
No idea but it would be cool
AAA
How can one contact Comic Scale Models for their product line, please?
Best to visit their website….www.cozmicscalemodels.com
A siren would infer sound. A light would not emit sound??
Yes true i failed to come up with a better description there
Hey, how come you have more NX-01 clothing/gear than I do !? That seems...wrong...🤔😏
Lol....just lucky I guess.
@@InterstellarModeler Luck has nothing to do with it! You wanted it and got it and, unlike me, didn't leave all the fun stuff I collected working on the shows in a storage facility somewhere in California...oyy..🙄
OUTSTANDING!!! FANTASTIC work, as usual a beautiful replica!!!!
Thank you very much
😮 🖖
Thanks
DU !!! Proof reading is always strongly recomended ----- NX-01 Enterprise JACKET !!!
Was there a spelling mistake I missed? Thanks Michael
This is a awesome model. However your uniforms are not totally accurate. Kirk's uniform was not Green and white it was Grey and white.
Thanks…some sources actually point out his uniform was a Loden Green. No doubt one of those colors that can be easily affected by the lighting being used??? Appreciate the comment thanks
Starfleet bus LOL
yep
