That serp belt has seen better days.😮
This is what I’m talking about. Right information!
Omg finally !!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT MY JEEP IS EXPERIENCING!!! And finally I found a video explaining it all!! 😆😁🫶🫶
SAME!!!! I have been stressing out thinking that I probably have to get a new transmission or rebuild the one that I have. Every time that I get a reading on the Engine light coming on, It always brings up a bunch of transmission codes. Have you gotten yours remedied?
Hey guys currently have the same issue, have you guys changed the PCM and the yellow wire ?? Or what’s the update
Cual es el cable amarillo?

Bro I hope this is wats wrong I got gjc Laredo same motor set up every thing and you just blew my gd mind I’m going crazy trying to fig out snd just cause ur video found out what limp mode was and why and that same shit happ to me I just saw it the other day about my wife’s rubbing right there too fml thanks bro
Well done. Gets me in the right direction.
Thank-you, I've had the same problem...
Can you give me a link to the dual alternator bracket? I am looking for one. Thank you. Great vid👍🏻
Trans temp high warning when the engine is cold tells me something is unplugged. It happened when I unplugged the ABS mod and turned the key on. The fan went into high and everything. Once I plugged it back in, it could see that nothing was broken or over temp. Not saying that its the ABS but something is unplugged.
Did you try it after you changed the fluid?
I have the same jeep and it plagued with problems. I have owned this one year so far I've replaced. Fcm, timing belt, transmission and now my speed sensor which I think is where the valve body is what a pain in the ass.
change to another repair shop for 2nd opinion
How do you have two alternators?
That yellow wire to the starter solenoid gave me the intermittent start and if it gets a bad connection while driving then the transmission over temp would light up on the dash, 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 limited 190,000 miles
Hey I really need your help I’m having the same problem
@@yrichspirit2350 replace the plastic female spade end on the wire or place a quick connect with a little extra wire and a waterproof spade on the yellow wire, use a scotch brite pad or fine sandpaper to clean off the terminal and use dielectric grease on the connection,
where i can find that yellow wire ?
@@xuchun5371 its on top of the starter, behind the front left tire, behind the inner fender plastic, you might want to remove the tire and get a flashlight
@@HondaRidea @ thanks , will try
Got a 2006 Dakota that has the temp. Light turning on randomly. Car starts to make a whining/moaning sound and loses power (press the gas all the way down and barely any speed) once the light turns on.
Can someone maybe give me some tips?
My 07 Jeep commander keeps STALLING randomly, and tbh sometimes it takes time getting power to go fast. My Jeep keeps shutting off at lights, or pulling up to the house.
Only lights that come on are oil and engine. Just replaced MAP and crankshaft sensor and it still stalls. Battery is very much alive.
Could it be the alternator???
same here... :(
Throttle position sensor and idel air control valve might be no good
I need to know how you did the dual alternators
Man I don't want to drive my jeep an be stranded somewhere 😔
I see your video and it seems interesting to me, the same thing happened to me with a 2006 Jepp Commander, when I braked hard the car turned off and does not start, I changed the starter motor and the sensors! but it catches my attention that it says on the board! transmission temperature ! My question is? Will it be the same case for you? Let me know ' !?
was you ECM corroded?? Also, I swapped my 4.7 engine out do you think the ECM needs to be programmed for the new motor?? Mine randomly stalls out and idles pretty badly as well
The infamous yellow wire, this starter wire must have plagued the entire electrical system, or are you saying the computer system was linked to the starter. How did this wire short out the computer. Is this unit called the TCM which shows up in the PO700 error code. Thanks to any who can help. cr
I’m having the same issue. I get multiple transmission codes and it goes on 3 when I ran the car and engine is warm: I have to let the car pretty much cool down so I can use D again.
@@josecostoya4316 Limp Mode, according to all the videos, this is limp mode. The transmission computer selects gear 3 by default when trouble is detected. This will protect your transmission from damage. The rule of thumb is to have it towed into a good repair shop. The other thought is going into gear 3 will allow you to "limp" home, or to the shop, so said the videos.
Copy that. What I meant is that I have no issues driving my car my vehicle to the end of the world when it’s cooled down, however when the engine is to temperature, and do a restart, my car goes into limp (3) mode.
@@chrisreeves8037pretty much I have to allow a significant amount of time to allow a “cool down” before I can put my car in D again without going into limp mode.
i had this exact issue and limp mode came on as i was merging on the freeway ;(
What's up with your extra alternator?
Mine will only say that in the summer time which is weird
Same here
Lol same
Hopefully y'alls don't die mine just gets a little harder to shift but other than that it rides fine
@@mattsimons2409 mine doesn’t want to get out of 3rd now idk what to do.
Hey there! I have the 5.7L V8 Hemi Commander but still 06 and I am experiencing my Jeep also randomly dying/stalling out on me and I’ve had 2 mechanics try to diag the issue. They’ve checked grounds/wiring shorts/connections/harnesses/sensors/TIPM etc. and everything is functioning properly and normal. The only thing they can recommend is that it could be my ecm/pcm starting to go bad and when it gets hot is failing and causing the cutting off. I have loss of comm codes as well and also have transmission overheating message too. Replacing the ECM/PCM is the only good solution I have currently otherwise I have no other leads as to what it can be. Do you think I should go ahead and do this? Does it sound like your issue? Thanks!
do you have the brake, esp, bas, tracs lights on also?
@@texfix yes
Did u replace pcm? Did it fix it?
@@patriotwarrior_556 Yes I did months ago! It runs like new
@@yankees4life612 What did they fix? What did they change?
Thanks so much. How do I check the transmission fluid?
if you don't see the transmission fluid dipstick in your car then you need people in auto shop to help you.
@@xuchun5371 alot of Commander models don't have a dipstick.
two alternators?
has the computer died out on you hows the vehicle running? thanks
Man where did u get the dual alt set up from? I have a js 320amp that runs around 14.8 -15.2 factory computers dont like it..would love to add my factory back in also..
i replaced my PCM from an ebay seller and same problem as before. Trans over temp message, limp mode in 3rd gear, ABS,ESP, BAS, tracs lights stay on. New problems at 65k miles: cranks but wont start. i jumped the fuel pump directly to the battery bypassing the TIPM and problem went away. now the jeep loses power to dash and radio and stalls out at stop signs. swapped back to original PCM and same problems. anyone fixed these issues with a ground wire? if so, where was the fault?
Hi there, I am having the same problem as you. Did you manage to find a solution?
@@ZiadAffara the abs/tracs/esp/bas light was a simple fix. i found that my abs connector on the passenger front side was loose. pull it out and pull on each wire in/out and look inside the connector. make sure the metal contact is not moving in/out as you pull on it. One wire was slightly pulled out and a simple push back in solved my issue. its just not making contact wit the abs sensor.
the loss of power with radio going out was coincidentally my battery was going bad. the crank-no start issue also went away around the same time but i never figured out what the exact cause was. i assumed the battery going bad was not powering the ECU and no fuel to turn it over.
the trans over temp and 3rd gear limp mode comes and goes to this day. i need to check the yellow wire by the steering yolk again. and possibly the same thing on the ECU connector as the ABS connector. push each wire into the connector to ensure good contact to ECU pins.
I have the issue where mine just dies. I don’t have the transmission over temp fault. I changed the PCM and the yellow wire but it still does it. I get the ASD automatic shut down P0688 fault.
@@gatorvision5148 The starter was replaced when I did the wire. I’ve bought new relays. And the ignition recall was done.
@@gatorvision5148 Thx for your help
@@gatorvision5148 your first ecm purchase what company did you get it from? hows the ares one? any problems? thanks
@@gatorvision5148 No. It still shuts off. And just gives the ASD fault.
@@gatorvision5148 No not yet. Someone recommended a TIPM hard reboot or a new TIPM.
hi there is your jeep still running with no problem?
Solve the problem, change the pcm
power

how has the computer held up? thanks
i think my cheroke is in limp mode i have no clue whats wrong with it it supposedly just got a new engine after the last one blew new ones got 76k on it supposedly i say because i got it back and its as bad ad it was before if not worse i cant go past 2k rpms till im going like 40 and if i try and push it the car will kinda jump a bit then go past 2k and it jerks so bad sometimes when i go from park to reverse or drive sometime when i put it in drive it acts like its in neutral for a bit till it jerks out and when i hit like 70 the car shakes horribly if i start letting off the gas or keep pushing it so im driving this piece of shit slow asf everywhere help lmao
its a 3.6 l v6
Check your recalls people
...what is that accessory between the A/C compressor and the alternator? I don't have that on my 06' 4.7
I've had this problem today
My 06 5.7 does this and today it flashed the electronic fuel control and won't crank
i just replaced the pcm and the problem persists tomorrow i will check the connection to the starter solenoid and the abc sensors if the problem is not resolved i will throw my jeep into a ravine
Did u fix your problem
@@h22eh6 Hi, yes, although I no longer have the Jeep, I solved the problem by simply replacing the TCM module that is under the dashboard and the car worked normally. I remember that I bought it on eBay already programmed for $60.

Hmm, from 2:22 you said you fixed issue but you said that after fixing wire it immediately went into limp mode, and you said it did not fix issue, so what fixed it?? Then you said don't go out and buy computer and so on, but never said what fixed it
