- This is some old throwaway footage I found in the bin from like September of 2020. Operator Drewski and myself went out on the GAW server in F-18s in pure AA loadout except for me who brought along a single HARM just in case. Well, we found ourselves quite deep behind enemy lines and had to fight our way out.
There is going to be some significant fumbling around as at that time I had gotten back to the F-18 after a short break and you know how it is with not keeping current.

This. When I was a Radio repairman in the Marine Corps, I learned in the field that liquid💦 copies were practically useless and the gas🌬 copies were completely worthless. 🤪😉🤣

@@ralfidude Problem is I'm from Europe so I got around 100ms ping on that server. Maybe it's less of a problem in DCS compared to other games though, I'll check it out.
Im also in the eu and hop onto the american servers all the time. Get 100ms of ping, but as long as you have a decent connection (and dont intend on any insane close formation flying), then you dont notice it 👍
Honestly FPAS page is such a godsend. Hornet is also quite fuel-efficient too, 2000 lbs is nothing to scoff at. I have definitely also had some butt-clench moments of making it back with less than 200 lbs of fuel left, almost running out while taxiing lol
So many people think the hornet has garbage fuel efficiency. and they get all cramped out of style when your indicated is only 250 if you follow fpas yet your gs is well over 500 if you're at altitude
I’ve had to glide 40nm before. Sometimes I even landed safely.
Speaking of which I literally touched down on the carrier with 10lbs of fuel remaining and ran out taxiing to the parking spot

I know this because that happened to me once, about 2 feet from the refueling hose.

@@MTBeYourself ordered my PC with CyberPowerPC and happened to jump on a Warthog HOTAS that was only scalped about $100 and didn't feel like waiting for some sites that have over 350 pre-order line.

Thankfully SAMs don't have Hollywood missiles in DCS.
Sometimes it feels that way with the SA-2… now if there are multiple launchers in that SA-2 site… yeah..
You would think “lower number means lower danger” but no it’s like almost the exact opposite. They name their mobile launchers SA as well. Like an SA-7 isn’t very dangerous at all, but an SA-6 is. Similarly to how an SA-13 isn’t that dangerous but an SA-12 is… like, cmon NATO wtf are you doing with your naming conventions?..

If no one already told you how TOO on the HARM works read through this: If you have a target selected in H-OFF mode, you won't be able to see other targets, because it then focuses on just that target.

Been seeing your videos on the GAW and PGAW servers and was wondering how you hide the kill feed, it kind of kills the mood for me when I play and instantly know what I've killed without having to confirm it.
Turn off Battle Damage Assessment in the options (under Misc.). GAW/PGAW allows it if you have it turned on. Some servers will also feed that into the chat (typically on PvP servers), which can be hidden by hitting Tab.

you'd have to figure that out. Free to play even ends on the 15th so you can try it now for free (Not on STEAM). Other than that, just go to youtube, and watch others play it and make a decision on your own based on that.

Hey, how do you set the warning range for AWACS like you did in the beginning? Never knew of this feature, I imagine you just call on 133.000Mhz?
On GaW they added an AI that you can talk too, like a voiceattack sort of thing that has a few features

Go to the correct frequency, I think 136, and then just ask what you need to ask.
Things like "Overlord, your name, request bogey dope"
"Overlord, your name, set warning 20 miles"
the name has to be in a certain format though, like DAGGER 1-1

Set labels as "Dot only" under options menu, may not be allowed on every MP server though

We hop on, but depending on the server it's just a fuck fest of bullshit. Last PvP server we took off from we were instantly shot down 20 seconds after take off because there were no air defenses left and they were just camping the spawns. In the other PvP servers, they had tomcats lobbing phoenixes from 50 miles away keeping everybody from even reaching the hunting ground. In another server..... it's just a fucking mess, I can't get any enjoyment out of it recently. I certainly can't stream in a PvP server because there is ALWAYS someone stream sniping. Maybe a string of bad luck but I'll eventually get a good PvP match in.
How did you get that woman voice at the beginning ?
AI bot called overlord that understands verbal requests and acts as an AWACS.
Can you do a tutorial on the system you use to actually communicate to AI using your actual voice?
Its probably Vaicom Pro + Voice attack.
Some servers also run the Overlord bot as well for AWACS, which you can use by talking to it over SRS on whatever frequency it's set to on the server. Your call sign must be simple enough for the bot to understand though.
No need for a tutorial, just look up some stuff on SRS for DCS or simple radio for DCS.
