Yeah, I use to think this was rap & today it's something different but the truth much ain't changed except for style which then & now outraged the old heads. More importantly modern Hip Hop will always be for the kids whereas us old heads will always romanticize our era cus this was the times when we're were still young & fly. Essentially you've allowed yourself to become the very ppl which criticized rap when we were young. That said I still think this is golden era of Hip Hop.

One aspect of this masterpiece that always caught my ears was the trumpet in this and the sound that came after the 🎺. To me, it was the essence of East Coast Hip Hop in the 90’s. Mad love and respect to the artist of this decade💯

Greeno Yesss there are parts of the censored version I like even more than the explicit version! You don’t feel like you missing out with the censored version. Today the censored versions be sounding dumb. Like in the uncensored version of Big Ole Freak when Meg says:
“I'm a big ole freak, I love to talk my shit
And you must be a pussy boy, if you get offended”
But in the censored version she says:
“And you must be a *friendly* boy if you get offended”
Wtf lol it makes me cringe every time.

You know, I often flip-flop when it comes to my favorite Brand Nubian record, but right here - right now, Imma have to rock w/ this one. I'm going off of feelings and time. Them brothas was gettin' down on that microphone. And, that beat plays in my head all the time. 1993, my favorite year for music, overall. Lord Jamar acknowledged me in one of his live streams so that means we really are family. I love him.
