    Dyslexia is a funny thing.
    Throughout the video my brain substituted Passive for Prelude (both P words and the Prelude actions are passive in a sense).
    Additionally cities Provoke Outrage when destroyed as opposed to Revolting (the term I used that thematically fits my brains picture of events)

    Love it!
    I'm not sure why you're calling Prelude actions passive actions. But just to be clear, you can gain and spend newly acquired resources during your prelude. As you said, you cannot spend newly acquired cards, and cannot regain resources you just spent in your prelude.
    7's only seize the initiative if they are surpassing. (They have to be the same suit)
    One rule we were confused on is outraging before using your keys. You can outrage relics, therefore throwing all relics away, and then use your keys to still steal relics after that. It's an order of operations thing. .

      Haha, I knew I was getting that term wrong while filming - I just could not grab the right word.
      I have dyslexia. So my brain will substitute words at times while reading or speaking. Even if I 100% know the right one. On top of that - it’s 5am in the video, so I’m sleepy :)

      Just a slight tip, if you steal a guild card from another player by taking a battle action in your prelude phase, you can use the prelude action of that guild card in the same prelude phase. The restriction on using prelude effects on newly gained cards only applies to cards you've acquired directly from the court deck 😊

    I feel like all of this is explained well in the rulebook. Errata seems like the wrong word for the document. They could call it further explaining rules, but not actually errata.

    • @Quackalope
      @Quackalope  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, but easy for players to miss. This is not about the errata - these are rulebook rules that are easy to overlook.

    Surpassing with a “7” seizes the initiative, unless it was already seized. Seizing in this way is not optional (p.10). Surpass: Play an action card face up of the lead
    card’s suit. Its card number must be higher than the lead card.
    Which means 7s do not alwyas seize the initiative it must be the seven of the lead card's suit. You can only surpass with same suit.

  • @HubertusBrandemburg

    *prelude not "passive". This is just one example. Please make sure you use the right terminology or you might cause more harm than help. Especially if you use a made up term that already is part of the fame's terminology but for something else. (you said relics allow you to secure a card that you have "dominance" on. Dominance is something else in this game so it's really confusing when you word it that way.)

    You can’t raid if you have no ships left, but you can still raid if all buildings have been completely destroyed. That is a jarring design choice. Seems to me that if the city is destroyed you’re not going to be able to recover intact loot from it.

    • @Quackalope

    You probably understand the rule correctly, however when you explained "dice choice may vary," it came across a bit confusing/misleading. "The only limitation is having 6 [dice] of one color," and "my maximum amount of dice can be 18." You can only pick up ONE die per loyal ship in the system where you're attacking. Since you only get up to 15 ships, I don't think there's a way to use all 18 dice.

    • @Quackalope
      @Quackalope  5 месяцев назад +2

      Some leader and lore abilities might add dice to the pool. However, you would be absolutely right - rolling 18 dice should not happen.

    • @dublao7
      @dublao7 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Quackalope I didn't even think of that, but yeah there are cards that let you roll extra, or even raid dice when you normally wouldn't be able to. Someone on here will likely comment with the exact scenario where you COULD use all 18 dice. For the newbs though, this would be an extremely rare situation. The attacker would have had to build all of their ships, move them all into one system, have some special cards, and use them to attack! That would be.....weird.
      You get as many dice as you have loyal ships where you plan on attacking. So two ships, two dice. The point in the video was that you can pick up a mixture in the color of dice up to the count of loyal ships. This makes it a statistics mini game. (edit: this part is in the vid too) My tip: blue skirmish to get their ships to be damaged before rolling red (if you can) because those intercept symbols can totally ruin your plans. If you can damage all the ships first, they can't intercept. So it takes a lot of the danger out of the red, and orange dice.

    One correction for ya though, you mention the "passive" actions in the third section of your video, but they are called "prelude" actions. Could trip some people up if they go digging for the wrong keyword!
    Edit: Also to add one more thing. You discuss cities "revolting" when they are destroyed, but this mechanic is called "provoking outrage" and "ransacking the court" for anyone needing to look up the mechanics
