Thank you, David. Great tutorial: well organized and easily transposed (for my bass voice). For the rhythm change ups, I wonder if the Travis picking pattern would be a better option.
Sorry, I listened to the intro and I think the plucking pattern is bass-2-3-1, but thanks for effort of doing this tutorial.

It was a good lesson, you know the song, but I was really confused with the D to Bm lick...in the chorus...over the word Love, it's a beat each of D C# D C# (the D chord followed by C# note, open D note and C# note) and then into the Bm chord? Is that it? I watched it over and over, I couldn't quite tell - I am finger picking the chorus so that does not help either.
And from the Bm to the G "in the morning" the lick is a Hammer-On from A to B, picking up the G chord starting on the open D string afterwards?
The first bit at the start of the chorus, that is just two beats of A and two beats of A/C#?

Great tutorial yet hard to follow due to the amount of cuts that make it seem to skip around. Just do a damn play through and stop people from guessing. I have an ear and just needed help, yet I felt like I unlearned and had to re learn when I was correct to begin with. Over complicated for no reason.
I looked up how to play this on tab and most are playing a 4-2-3-1 fingerpicking pattern, but after listening to the recording that doesn't seem quite right. I think you nailed it--just a straightforward picking pattern. Thank you for showing how it's actually played!

Play the whole song through with the chords/notes on the corner of the screen then when done break down the song with picking/strumming patterns, etc..

not a great tutorial for beginners i dont know what half these things mean. but thank you anyway
what is it you dont understand if you dont know how to make or the names of chords then your not ready for 99% of how to play videos you need to look up how to play basic chords and their names Start there. if it was the key remark then do a search on music keys and how they work. It would also explain alot that will help in your learning

The song is by Loggins and Messina. Not Kenny Loggins
Kenny Loggins WROTE it, as a a wedding gift to his brother Danny cause he had no money to buy a present. Messina was his musical partner afterwards. Logging and Messina broke up a long time ago but Kenny Loggins still performs alone and plays this song.
