The 3DS went from a console that I didn't give much of a damn about, to a console I cherished up until the Switch, probably from Dark Moon alone!
yeah when i fist heard youtuber talking about it i did not think anything of it thinking my ds is good enough till my friend she bought me a brand new 2ds with pokemon x preinstalled and a copy of super smash bros and man was it an amazing system
The 3ds got me into the amazing kirby series. I will already love it for that reason (poyo)

Bold of you to assume the 3DS will ever die. I’ll have you know mine has full battery.
Those things have such good battery life because of the 240i resolution. if it was like. lets say 360p then the battery would go out way faster. wich is why high resolution laptops have such poor battery life. [Mine is 1440p and only goes for like an hour and a half]
My battery died a couple of months ago. Just called up Nintendo and they send a knew one in the mail for a reasonable price. I was thinking of just ordering two and keeping one as a back-up because, compared to the switch, I'll probably be playing 3DS regularly for years to come
@@Ystijger I feel like mine sucks. When I play with the ds Lite I barely have to charge it but with my 3ds it feels like such a short time until I have to chrage it again. Or maybe I play too much lmao
THE BATTERY LIFE WAS ABSOLUTELY INSANE, I had my 3DS closed(not off) in the car when I was at the theater to watch a movie, don’t remember what movie, and it didn’t lose any bars of power(it was an hour long movie).
I have a bad battery life 2DS and it has never died
One thing that most people dont realize is that you can basically play all the pokemon series prior to switch on the 3ds, and almost all dragonquest entries published both on ds and 3ds.

You can play every Mario and Luigi game on the 3DS as well.
You can play the entire dragon quest series on 3ds and switch
Briston Reeves In Japan you can actually play all eleven mainline Dragon Quest games solely on the 3DS. The ones that aren’t available here (I, II, III, X, XI) are all accessible in Japan in some way. I am convinced VII and VIII were remade on the 3DS just so all eleven games could be on the system.
So many things were on the 3DS that should be on Switch. Folders, themes, badges, activity log, streetpass, etc.

@Tuffdude 77 I hate the folders on it. Like it's so much of a pain to get too that it's not even worth doing I forget they exist half the time. The only thing I've made was a nes folder for the old games which over never opened through it, if only they made actual folder icons on the home screen of the switch...
Miitopia became one of my favorite 3DS RPGs. It’s not good in gameplay, but any game that lets you have Luigi and Iron Man fighting Spongebob is a good one to me.
This game needs more love.
Miitopia is a good game, but not a good RPG really. I still like it, but you can only control the main character and the story isn’t very interesting normally. I like the music, how you can make the funny parts even funnier with strange characters, and all of the cool jobs.
In conclusion
Miitopia > Xenoblade
Ah yes miitopia the one game that allows me to make Fat Albert and Batman fight over Rem or Roy and Ike fight over Princess Marth
I don't know why, but i actually didn't enjoy that game, but at the same time i did. Still a genius concept that should be expanded upon.
Didn’t even talk about the 3Ds home screen themes (and lack of them on the switch)

@@Chlocean Yeah, I'm assuming Nintendo keeps meaning to get around to releasing themes for the Switch, considering it's right there in the menu. But I guess they figure we would rather fancy up our Switch by spending $80 for mismatched color JoyCons rather than $2 for a theme.
@@Chlocean seriously....I loved that bit of customization that we just don't have on the switch. I get they're trying to get people to focus on the games but I want my themes, folders, and to be able to change the size of icons like I could on 3ds to fit more than 1 row XD
I love the 3DS's themes with the scrolling and unique choices of music. The Switch makes me sad in that respect.
Hopefully they release a Pokémon sword theme cuz of the Pokémon sword switch lite coming out

Now that the 3DS is officially discontinued, I have to say, I LOVED the DS and 3DS series. They carried me through middle and high school and I will never forget the fun I had with them. I will never, ever stop loving this generation of handhelds. No matter what. It makes me so nostalgic and said that those easier days are over, as well as MANY amazing games no longer able to be legally experienced.

No no no, I LOVED the activity log. My favorite part, I also loved the step counter.
The 3ds helped me keep my sanity underway on a sub.
The 3DS is obviously the best handheld ever because it has the most Kirby games out of every handheld, and that’s the only thing that matters.
The main ones (TD and PR) were AMAZING Kirby Games so thats a super dupee plus

@@legoyoda3546 I'd suggest a switch lite since it's cheaper. The switch has been out 2 years, I'd say it has a decent amount of games right now but I guess it's good if you like the 3ds a lot.
the 3ds is by far my favorite console ever just because of all of the memories i have had playing it. i love my switch and all, but my 3ds will always be my baby.

I find it amazing that the 3DS is still one of the best handheld consoles Nintendo has ever made. Not only did I really like the backwards compatibility, but the many games that I owned and had a lot of fun with. Super Mario 3D Land, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Super Street Fighter IV 3D edition, Super Smash Bros. For 3DS, Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds, Resident Evil: Revelations, Fire Emblem Awakening, Mario Kart 7, THE MII PLAZA, the Ace Attorney games... I'M NOT EVEN DONE with most of my games and I can't wait to get back into them and collect even more.
I'd say one of the best hand holds period. Only vita, GameGear, and wonder swan can compete.

It wasn't worth a full $40.
It is one of my favourite 3DS games of all time, for the absolute fun factor. Growing relationships with your favourite Mii Characters, while watching them kick some serious ass down the line is so goddamn satisfying, not to mention the further you go, the more surprises you find, and it just doesn't stop even... so far, I'm 26 hours into the game, and I still don't even know if I've reached the end, yet. XD

@@ZimVerse I still need to get Ocarina of Time 3D. Super Mario 3D Land, on the other hand, was the very first 3DS game I played since I got it with the system.
I got mine from 2011 and lemme tell you you're lucky to have one at the end. Not to say it was bad but it was overpiced and -- obviously -- lacking games. The next games teleased were also 40$ + and for a liytle child as I was it was pretty hard. But I also had all the capacities today you'll might not find like StreetPass encounters (I have like 700 miis in my console). But you have a lot of games cheaper you dont have to wait anymore like Luigi's Mansion; fantastic remake I recommend it. It has its pros and cons but dont expect to be greeted and aurrounded by everyone for having a 3DS like in 2012.

Captain Shades I think it needs it less than TYD. Paper Mario doesn’t age badly, but the GameCube is older and less popular than the Wii.
The switch should also have other compilations and the 3DS Eshop. Nintendo we want to give you our money!

The 3DS was and still is the RPG Heaven. SO. MANY. RPGS. My favorite RPG and number one favorite 3DS game of all time was DEFINITELY Fantasy Life. That game was soooooo good and I sunk so many hours into it and I occasionally play it even to this day. I just wish I could experience it’s co-op.

Yeah, even though the 3DS is ending but Nintendo still has their ban hammer with firmware updates so trying to put homebrew and custom firmware won't happen anytime soon, same story with the Wii U
@@cloroxhammer3289 the screen resolution is perfectly fine. You could either fill the screen making the game slightly blurry or have it pixel perfect making it slightly smaller

If you're on New 3DS, you can play all the PS1 games at 60 fps!

My first 3DS games were Mario 3d Land, Pokémon Rumble Blast, and Mario Kart 7, and they're all really good, especially Rumble Blast, its a hidden gem
Y'know, the Switch really lost a lot of the charm the 3DS had. Such as Mii games being very quirky in a good way, MiiS ACTUALLY BEING USED- and that vibrant color scheme.
And a much weaker eShop successor.
Lol we need to get Nintendo to revamp the switch cause i want miis to be more relevant. Bring back warawara plaza! Remake the Wii U main menu and or tweak it! (you have to be honest: that menu was great) Bring back streetpass and spotpass to encourage users to take your switch everywhere! Finally, bring back games such as streetpass mii plaza, tomodachi life, and miitopia!
@@mps64 streetpass wouldnt really work in the switch as it is way harder to transport, yes, it is like a small tablet, but you cant really put it in your pocket and forget it is there, unlike the 3ds

Tbh, I had no idea that the Switch had Miis until I went into the settings and started poking around in there
4:52 I actually still use this Stand for the Switch. It fits incredibly well with the system and I can still plug it in with the charger unlike it's own kickstand.
I never stopped using it, i almost exclusively played kid icarus with it and now its just perfect as a cellphone stand or to watch lenghty cutscenes on the 3ds while i'm sitting on my desk or whatever
I never really used it, even with Uprising because my thumb resched everything just fine, but I DID use it a lot...as a phone stand. It makes a REALLY good phone stand.

Link Between Worlds, the Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask remakes, Samus Returns, Dragon Quest VIII, the DS backwards compatability, the Virtual Console... Man, the 3DS was amazing!

I agree. I like the remakes like majora mask 3d.
As good as the Switch may be, the biggest thing the 3DS had going for it was the charm it had compared to the Switch.
From something as simple to gradients, to ambient music in the menus, to the *Mii Maker and Eshop having music* (with the Eshop using unique music every few months!)
The Switch, on the other hand? Flat colors, silent everything, *only 2 themes*. The best way you can remedy most of these issues is if you dive into the world of Homebrew to install themes and the like, but even that has consequences. Got my console banned because of it, though I never really used online all that much.
I loved this thing it introduced me to one of my favorite games Mario and Luigi dream team I’ll miss this thing.
Dream Team: Best M&L. Probably just nostalgia, though.
The 3DS is my favorite console of all time as I have the best memories with it. The Switch is awesome, but 3DS just reigns supreme to me.

The 3DS has to be my favorite system ever. So many fantastic games, DS backward compatibility, and a fantastic design all come together to make a great little handheld
God as much as the switch is objectively better, my heart will still always be with the DS/3DS lines
That game library (both cartridge titles and, as Ant mentioned, the eShop) and even all the silly goofy charming things like Streetpass, the spinning menu icons when you blew in the mic... these levels of charm and pointless silly fun just aren't on the switch anymore

Odyssey, Wonder, SMM2, Metroid Dread, Forgotten Land, Pikmin 4, Splatoon 2 and 3, Ultimate, some of the best Nintendo games out there.

Matthew Dunaway If you import some games and are relatively adept at hacking, you can have the entire series on 3DS. It’s arguably the best place to play DQ for sure.

I hated the e-shop because every category always had the “new!” banner whether there was actually any new releases or not. They still do to this day, with nothing coming out. 🤷🏻♂️

I honestly think the 3DS is one of the best handhelds out there.
Of course, that might just be because I'm biased for Kirby and Planet Robobot is my favorite game ever, but still, it's a good system.

Robobot was amazing, it would be my favorite Kirby game but Super Star Ultra gets the crown
TBH, as purely a handheld I think it's better than the Switch. I think it's because of the really good battery life, especially if you get a larger battery from online. It helps that it also has much better virtual console support and you can fit so many games on the SD Card. Overall, the Switch is better, but when I'm travelling the 3ds is way more reliable.

My back catalogue of 3DS games is a bit insane. It has some of my favorite games I have ever experienced. Bravely Default and Second rekindled my love for tradition turn based RPGs. Pokémon X/Y made my head explode seeing Pokémon in 3D. Seriously 3DS is probably the greatest consoles of all time once you included the DS backwards compatibility.

The highlight of the 3DS for sure was Xenoblade Chronicles. It has become my favorite game and the 3DS allowed me to experience that. Thank you Nintendo!

@@TheElectricRaichu At the time I got it, I was under the impression that the wii version was hard to get. Whether or not that's correct, it was advertisements for the 3Ds version that caught my eye and sold me on the game (along with Shulk's inclusion in smash).

@@battlepower777 It's a "new" 3Ds exclusive, since it needed the extra power. Seemed to run fine for me, just a bit of a graphics downgrade. Though the visual style and art direction of that game makes up for that I think.
Nah man, Fire Emblem Conquest and Echoes do it for me.

Monster hunter 3 ultimate, monster hunter 4 ultimate, monster hunter generations and dragon quest 8 are my fav 3ds games their the ones I played the most.

The eshop on the 3DS is so good. I am so happy that you brought that up. I spent a lot of my 2013 and 2014 playing that stuff. Gun Man Clive was so good. Remember Harmoknight!!
I also liked the street pass games, which is I think were underrated.
My soul is crumbling at The Denpa Men not being mentioned in this video. That series was hands-down my favorite set of 3DS games, as well as _RPG games,_ and I’m sad as hell that there doesn’t seem to be much of a fanbase for it outside of Japan.

At this point, just mod your 3DS. It's stupid easy, and adds so much missing functionality. You can have custom home menu themes and you can even inject GBA games to use the VC emulator the ambassador GBA games used. I used this to play Rhythm Tengoku and it's godly.

The risk of bricking is like a million to one if you follow the instructions exactly, and I messed up a couple times in setup of mine and my 3DS was fine and is now fully set up with CFW.

The 3DS doesn't have a gba emulator. It's playing them natively by using the ds hardware which has gba hardware. This means while the 3DS has full gba compability, any features of the 3DS (or even the DS) are locked out and you can't really get the typical features of an emulator. I think the new 3ds is compatible with a decent gba emulator though
I would do this... Until Nintendo stop doing that stability update.

When he showed that small array of DS games, my heart lit up at Drawn to Life. While I have not played the Wii version of The Next Chapter, I've played both of the DS games. I still to this day play the DS version of Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter, and even have found a wonderful assortment of glitches from how much time I've put into it. Thank you, Antdude, for even that tiny shoutout to a beautiful series.
Triforce heroes was so good wth. Played that game to death and had so much fun playing it with friends

Great video. I know people hate the 3D but that’s the one thing that makes the handheld completely unique to me. I love the depth perception. And it has a great library. They can kill it off, but I’ll be playing mine for decades too!
3DS was awesome! I still play those GBA Ambassador games! You also aren't alone in wanting the playtime stats on the Switch. I was looking for them myself recently!
Did you ever take advantage of the 3DS camera to take 3D pictures? So many little novelties that added up to a phenomenal console. I remember thinking that the telescoping stylus was such a cool idea!

The 3ds was awesome. Loved collecting hats and puzzle pieces using the plaza. All the games I spent soo many hours on including: pokemon, fossil fighters frontier, puzzle and dragons, fantasy life, animal crossing, mario kart this is just off of the top of my head and the list goes on.

I want a Pokemon Conquest sequel on the switch so bad.
I would have to say without Pokemon, I would've stuck to the DS. It was Pokemon X that got me hooked. I then stayed for Fire Emblem Awakening and Echoes, both Bravely Default games, Generations 6 and 7 of Pokemon, both N64 Zelda remakes, A Link between Worlds, Dragon Quest VII remake, an RPG Maker and a huge swath of NES, GB and GBA games. It was a very good system that got countless hours of enjoyment from me.
theres so many rpg's that i found just by looking in the 3DS virtual shop with titles like stella glow a game with some dating sim aspects and radiant historia perfect chronology a adventure where you travel to different time lines to solve puzzles.

If your talking content wise, then I'm pretty sure that title belongs to Xenoblade Chronicles 3D. Yeah, the 3DS (or at least the New 3DS) could run Xenoblade flipping Chronicles. That still blows my mind. And then they took out the Jukebox and Model Viewer in the Switch version. WHY!?

What I was referring to was the file size of the game. The American release is *massive* because they didn't believe they could sell multiple versions (Red/Blue/Yellow) and just have us a amalgamate of all three in one cartridge, with all the DLC

This video brought back some good memories, I remember when my buddy Estan got me one as a gift, good times. I still play that thing, then the street pass and making sure I got walking points all the time, plus those puzzle pieces. Dang I love this thing!!!

(6 years ago)At my summer camp i saw a group of kids playing with pokemon cards, i thought they were really cool at the time and since i had the 3ds, i asked my parents for pokemon x for christmas. I played the game for hours and to this day it is my favorite pokemon game, as future releases came out, i got every single game along with the ds games and the game boy games, now im 14 and i still love the franchise, ill never forget the 3ds because of the amazing memories it brought me
I just bought Ever Oasis after it finally went on clearance at my store, and oh boy, it was worth the wait. I love it so far.
