We all get "the feels" from this... isn't it amazing how songs work?... it never ceases to boggle my mind how 3/4 minutes of sounds put together can pierce your soul and make you happy, sad, nostalgic, angry... in some cases all at the same time. 🤔

  • @KerryNelsonART

Ah, I love this song so much! Interesting factoid; thi song is a collaboration with David Foster and Dianne Warren. Foster heard David sing SOS on the Conan show and wanted to do a collab with him. Dianne is a master song writer. To my knowledge, Uninvited Guest has not been performed live yet ... a real shame. (Thats the tragedy of a band with too many hits to squeeze into a 2hr concert!) Pleas react to more Disturbed, please ... perhaps another unsung, unperformed live and incredible song, Already Gone.
Perhaps you would like to go the other direction and hit up some really hard driving Disturbed, A Welcome Burden? How about a juxtaposition between a hard, gritty song and a sweet ballady song of the same artist and do both those suggestions in the same reaction. I'd be there for that!

"Remember" It's an amazing track from disturbed, its not as..intricate as their newer stuff, but the raw sound to it is so fun.
That, and the cover of "I still haven't found what I'm lookin for" from the asylum album is fun too. Really fun in fact.

If you haven't yet, you should react to Stricken by Disturbed. It's one of their older songs, so it's more metal than this or Sound of Silence, but it has always been one of my favorite Disturbed songs.

I really love Disturbed! They have sooooo many good songs. They have a light, acoustic song called "Hold on to Memories" that is just beautiful. "The Vengeful One" has a powerful and political message that's pretty great. "The Light" is an uplifting story and all those are on more recent albums. Their older stuff is still amazing too! I could make an entire playlist of just Disturbed songs and never get sick of listening to it.

    • @Warlundrie

As much as I love their newer stuff, the older stuff is just so damn good, I feel it's safe to say every Disturbed fan wishes they could discover Disturbed for the first time again, I still remember the first time I hear Stricken, The night and Perfect insanity. Oh to discover them for the first time again, it would be so damn amazing

In my humble opinion, one of the best bands ever. All of the members have perfected their instruments, their craft and delivery. Dan Donegan, lead guitarist's talent in composition has bloomed into such foresight and creativity, that when you puit David and him together, magic happens!
    Forever a fan.🎼🎶🤘🥀

David has the most amazing voice with phenomenal range and dimension.
The lyrics you're looking for that David runs together are " Guess you haven't LEFT IT YET" and at the end during the last chorus it is "Guess you haven't left it yet, haven't left me yet"
I have been following your channel for a few months now and I love how you pick apart and explain how the songs and vocals are arranged.
I have a lot of favorite Disturbed songs but my absolute favorite is Hold on to Memories. Please check it.iut and let your followers/fans know what you think.

Nicely done analysis. Disturbed is a group that I only recently discovered and have come to think of them in much the same way as Pink Floyd: musical story telling and arrangements that offer both great drama and melding of vocal styling and instrumental accompaniment with really moving lyrics. Never tire of hearing my favorite PF songs, and now I think Disturbed joins that short list of performers. Appreciate your work and all the best as you continue.

Ken...."overdrive"...lol....I like it! I've heard it called many things....rasp, grit, distortion, and vocal fry. As I think you mentioned....only doing it with the vestibular vocal cords will prevent damage to the true cords. Nobody can do it like David Draiman imho. So glad you were "converted" ...lol. Love this song....Uninvited Guest.....thanks Ken.

You got me started watching "reaction" videos, but geez, you've got the best patter and production values of any of them all. Not to mention you recognize and understand ... and EXPLAIN vocal techniques. I always learn something...thanks!
"Uninvited Guest" reminded me one called "Past the Point of Rescue," written by Mick (rather, Michael John) Hanly and sung in the US by Hal Ketchum. I first heard it by Irish singer Mary Black. The RUclips videos of Mary's concert videos leave out the heartbreak verse ...
I swore I'd never fall like this again
Fools like me never win, came to my knees again
Can't close the door on likely hood
Things might be just as good, I always believed they would
Gotta let your love invite me, baby do you think it might be
No you don't, but I do
Here's Ketchum and Hanly's version, live at a bar in Dublin: ruclips.net/video/3kxOBrJQxS4/видео.html

Try "Dead Inside" with David and Nita Strauss.....a bit heavier than this....lol. No Ken, they don't tour with an orchestra....the songs you picked just happened to have them. In my opinion, no one does it better than David Draiman....what an amazing voice. The man can sing anything. Can go from clear as a crystalline bell to vocal fry and back on a dime......sooo impressive! Also love the tonal properties of his voice....have never heard any like his before!

DISTURBED 4 ever. I know, I sound like I'm still in high school, but I am an ageing 57 year old mom. 7 years ago my life fell apart. I heard their song "The Light". I bought the CD and just HAD to hear more from this band. A band that I had never heard of up to this point. Somehow they totally eluded me. Well within 2 weeks, I had all their music. I guess they came along at the right time, because I can guarentee that if it weren't for them,I wouldn't be here. It seemed as though every song had a meaning I could relate to. They were an outlet for me. Hey gave me a place to vent, to get angry, to laugh & to cry. Yes, I would go hop in the car and drive for hours listening to only them cranked up so the whole car shook & boomed. I shit you not when I say nothing else was played in that car for a good YEAR! Sometimes I would get some funny looks, i think because of my age. Younger people didn't expect to see someone like me seat dancing to "Stricken". I even caught one guy filming me on his phone. That's ok, maybe I am on a video somewhere, lol! Sorry, I wrote so much, but DISTURBED is worth every moment of my time, anytime. 🎼🎶🤘🥀

This album has many more ballads than their previous albums, and I really love that. If you REALLY want to get the feels though, check out Hold On to Memories or A Reason to Fight. They're both incredibly emotional and powerful songs from this album. The first is about life after losing someone you love, and the second is about addiction and depression.

Big Disturbed fan and new to your channel and enjoy your reactions. Have you done any Creed or Alter Bridge? The lead guitarist for both bands is Mark Tremonti and Don't know if you know of him and the song writing prowess he has in him or that he is considered one of today's top guitarist. But was wondering if you might consider doing a reaction to a song by his solo project called Tremonti, go figure. They have 5 albums out and the most current is Marching in Time which came out in the fall. Please consider doing a reaction to a song off Marching in Time. There's a couple of videos on RUclips. Marching in Time is one, A World Away is another and If Not For You is a great one to do. Mark also has a new album coming out that is for charity called Tremonti Sings Sinatra. He worked very hard on this and deserves some love from reactors. He really knocked it out of the park with this and he has several videos of him doing this with the surviving members of Frank Sinatra's touring band, so this is a big thing if the family signed off on this project. Take a look and react to I've Got You Under My Skin please, you won't be disappointed in any way. Thank you for your time.

Are you familiar with the Gothic Meets Klassik concert series? It's in Leipzig and they have goth/industrial/ebm bands perform with a symphony orchestra - they're fantastic! One of my favorite bands, VNV Nation, went on to do a full album with the Babelsberg Film Orchestra called "Resonance". All the songs are amazing but "Beloved" and "Illusion" are really beautiful
