Allthough things have changed a LOT since I started grammar school (1950) I can't remember I was taken to the dentist before I started in school. The teeth you get as a child, you lose at at 6-7, not much sence in throwing out a lot of money for dentalcare before they start growing "real" teeth, unless there is actual desease or/and pain. Dental HYGIENE is something different again, THAT should ABSOLUTELY been tought any and all children from the first tooth. THAT I remember my brother and I did religiously every morning and evening. I also remember we were tought both general hygiene and mouth hygiene at school, even in that day and age.

In Florida if you decide to homeschool you have the state and county school system both breathing down your neck till graduation day. In the UK, you don't have to follow the National Curriculum as taught in schools, but local authorities can check on the child's education, and issue a school attendance order to force the child to go to school if they think it's warranted.

To be fair now, he's been rather lazy over the past 40 yrs, because he hasn't visited anyone since 1975.
The FIRST THING I would do is change my clothes to normal clothes and cut my hair!

The sad thing is there are some good principals they teach: hard work, modesty, temperance, etc. but they are being taught with the end goal of control in mind.
