Great video! I let Blue Compass talk me out of a third party inspection on my Brinkley. It was a mistake of epic proportions. Had I had a inspection there is a good chance I would not have bought that unit. I am now a RV inspection evangelist. As a matter of fact, I am retiring in 8 months and am considering becoming a RV inspector.
Hi Mike. Sorry to ear about your problems with a Brinkley RV. Generally, they build a very good product. But I always advise getting an RV inspection on any new RV purchase, even if it was built by some of the better brands. Congratulations on your retirement, and I hope your plans on becoming a certified RV inspector work out for you!
@ Thanks Duane. The good news is Brinkley has gone above and beyond to fix all the issues. But it just points out it does not matter who the manufacturer is, an inspection is money well spent. I am the minority in the Brinkley customer base, I still love my Brinkley
@@mikewadams1 I'm glad to hear that Brinkley's customer service has been good for you. That is one of the reasons I recommend them highly. I hope you have lots of great adventures in your Brinkley RV!
I agree 100 percent of what you're saying. We bought a new RV last year. We were charged $1200 for PDI and nothing was inspected or done on it. After we bought it, we pulled to to our campsite but there was so many issues with it. After waiting over 6 month they finally got all the problems resolved. Terrible service. Please do not buy or listen to the sales person before calling a inspector that will go through your new camper. the sales person cares about his commision and nothing else. After all the stress it caused us, we did learn not to listen to a money hungry business.
Excellent advice. We’ve been through the process many times in almost 40 years. This past summer we traded in our class A for a class C but did online and in person research for a year. We live in Phoenix, spoke to our bank ahead of time, and visited all major dealers in our area. Yes, some sales people were not to be trusted, but some were reasonable. None balked when we informed them we would have a pre delivery inspection and I think your channel and others are helping to change the environment. We did NOT go with the biggest dealer and I doubt I ever would. The dealer we went with was very accommodating, worked with us to make sure our RV was set up with fuel, propane, electric and water for the inspection. It was a good experience but we also stayed in constant communication with them during the inspection process. So much so, that they had a pre-delivery tech start repairs to some items immediately after the inspection. Two days later we took delivery. Thank you for all your valuable input.
I'm glad that you had a positive experience with your purchase Anthony. Not all RV dealers and salespeople are deceptive. But there are enough of those that it pays to be forewarned. Thanks for watching!
I think you could have said it more strongly. Any dealer that won't allow an independent inspector is telling you something critical: "We want to lie to you and sell you a piece of junk that you'll strongly regret buying,"
Did you have to break down a mental wall to get the truth out on this subject to focus on a negative? This is a vital video for those who consider the salesman the expert!
Very good advice for anyone who is looking to buy an RV. Your comments on dealers and independent inspections are spot on.
Hi Robert. Thanks for the positive feedback. It's much appreciated!

Very important information, and I'm glad you discussed lot rot. It is something most people wouldn't be aware of, but can be a very expensive mistake!
Lot rot is a hidden danger for buyers of new RVs, so thanks for watching and leaving a nice comment about it!

Just like any other purchase, careful. Do your homework, research, use your common sense.
