My pawpaw who passed away a few months ago used to make us grits every Sunday morning before Church and he always uses to say “grits keep you full because they stick to your ribs!”🙈😊Love and miss him always.❤️😌
🥰🥺
He was right!
Tim is so smart and talented and really great in front of the camera. I've never seen Miss Paula so relaxed and happy as she has been lately.
Tim is a delight. Loved this video.
when I was a little girl in a group home they serve me grits with sugar and that's how I have a love for grits I have never once had grits with shrimp ever but it looks so delicious I will go to the store and get all those ingredients just so I can make it I love you Paula so much I really hope you know how much we all love you and if no one told you today you are an amazing human being giving tons of hugs God bless and stay safe
I grew up eating grits with sugar too. Now it's just butter and black pepper.
❤
Invite Tim back to make She crab soup. I had it on my visit to the Creek House last fall and it was fabulous.
Thats a great idea!
Mmmm! Yummy! Please do!
Dearest Paula, if that stove is still putting off heat after you turn it off, it's not induction. It's a plain old electric stove with a piece of glass over the electric coils. Hopes that helps you adjust to it easier. ❤🌅🌵😷
An induction cooktop needs special pots and pans and I don't think your brand meets the qualifications.
I'm from New England, grew up outside Tampa, I eat my grits all different ways; with butter, salt, cheese, sometimes with milk or cream, sugar, maple syrup...and my cream of wheat I eat with butter, sugar, and milk or cream.
The shrimp sauce would be wonderful over rice. I will be trying this recipe.
Over pasta too.
I’d legit pay for cooking lessons in Paula’s home with her. She’s so fun and real.
He really said I ate an eraser once 😂😂😂 lmao I feel you buddy
“I ate an eraser once”😂😂😂
I really enjoyed watching Tim make the gravy, he gave me some tips I needed.
Great episode! I sure did enjoy watching Paula cook with Tim (he seems like a sweetheart) and a great chef! This recipe looks delicious, I usually do not eat grits, but I sure would try this! Thank all of you for sharing your time and talents with us. 😊
Guess what Eddie... it was me from Alabama that puts sugar in her grits lol😂😂 I put sugar in them if I wanted something sweet 🙄only me 😂 I love my grits all different kinds of ways guys😋
Try brown sugar & butter, my mother used to do that before she passed (gosh I miss her so) and said it’s really good!
@@Momma-angela Haha you beat me to it.
@@Momma-angela brown sugar sounds wonderful and even honey sounds good too 🤔
I had with brown sugar and with sawmills gray not with shrimp or sausage but going to try it thanks for sharing take care 👩🍳
Me too...
I love the gentleness you have with Tim, your a special lady. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I’m southern. I grew up eating cheese grits (big bowl), and I love them with butter, salt and sugar (small bowl). Tennessee native now living in Alabama.
That's nice, they are really good with butter,I'm also from Alabama
OMG, this looks absolutely delicious!! I need to make me some of that!! Thank you both for sharing!!
Ms Paula, Your Prettier now and happier than you were on Food Channel. Love & Hugs to you and all the family
Yes you can see her inner glow lol
I've been waiting for this! Thank you!
This is our family's favorite! Thank you for making this today!
Whew chile Tim is mighty cute. But also glad I stumbled across this shrimp and grits recipe because I've been craving it. Also from Alabama and never put sugar in my grits!
I’m from Virginia (grew up
In nC) & NEVER put sugar in my grits!! Just butter & Salt!! Yum!!🤗
Fellow Alabamian here, and I don't know anyone who puts sugar in grits. Just good old salt and butter. Mmmm!
New SHOW TITLE: “Country Kitchen Cooking with Paula; Eddie & Teresa‼️
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! THE SHRIMP & GRITS LOOKS FANTASTIC.
Oh my, y'all...I'm get'n ready for work and I'm so hungry now!! I'm definitely try'n this to make this one! Thank ya Miss Paula & Tim!!
The first time I ate shrimp and grits at Uncle Bubbas. I feel in love. I actually bought his cookbook to get the recipe. It has been my family’s favorite ever since. That’s for sharing.
I like stewed tomatoes over grits. I also like shrimp and grits. Thank you for coming into our homes and having fun teaching us to cook. ❤🥂
I remember making grits(cheesy) and shrimp for my northern friends for the first time, they were all over it like ugly on an ape!!!😱😊
Now I make it for them twice a month!!!
Best times ever🤗
Oh no.....no sugar!! I am a Midwest girl but raised by my very southern grandma from Alabama. I was raised on grits and all I ever added was salt and butter. Brings back memories every time I eat them😋😌
Paula, I am from Ocilla GA and i love you so much! I still love and use my PD cookware every day! I have the red and teal sets!
Paula really shone in this video...she looks so happy and relaxed. Must love being in a smaller space for sure! Tim was awesome too!
She shone out for sure, picking up a shrimp off the floor and putting it back in. What a chef.
I’ve never made shrimp and grits. I can’t wait to try this! I’m one of those damn Yankees that puts maple syrup on my grits. Lol the only place I’ve had grits is Cracker Barrel.
My husband was born and raised in Louisiana and he will only eat sugar on his grits 🤣
Good to see you with a fellow chef cooking your great recipes.
Great banter!
Bacon instead of sausage makes the best white southern gravy too Paula! I have cooked your recipe from years ago so many times for people who love white gravy and they always look at me crazy when I use bacon grease and chopped bacon instead of country sausage but then when they taste it, THEY LOVE IT! One of my top 5 favorite Paula Dean recipe’s ever. Bacon beats sausage every time!❤️
Good Morning Y'all..Happy Monday Paula , Eddie, Teresa and Tim .I have made shrimp and grits since I was 16. My momma taught me how to cook this dish in Louisiana when I was young. It's to die for . If I had a spoon.. I would get a taste through this phone yum. Wonderful recipe Paula this makes my mouth water. Guys have a wonderful week... love you bunches ♥️😘
Butter and sugar in my grits. Yummy
@@kathyhazelwood6621 im sorry kathy thats cream of wheat, lol
I love Paula Deen! Country folks are cool as hell! By the way I am country as hell as well!
So happy to see this recipe. I know nothing about grits and seems like you covered everything about them. My favorite meat is shrimp so have to try this. Thanks for the video. So happy you’re doing them. I can watch whenever I have time.
Made your recipe tonight and added cheese to the grits. This is so delicious...thanks so much for sharing... highly recommend!
Loved this video!!! I actually had the Shrimp and Grits at Uncle Bubba’s and it was so delicious❣️
I had never seen so many Types and flavors of Grits until I spent ten Days in Georgia and had to go to the Grocery store. We ate Grits growing up, my grandma was from Oklahoma, but usually was a breakfast item eating with Butter, salt and Pepper, Or Butter, sugar and a little milk. Going to make this for dinner tonight. Long story Short, I thought about buying a giant suitcase and buying one of each flavor of Grits and bring them home to Oregon.
Thank you for sharing this recipe!!! It looks delicious. Tim seems like a sweet guy. Enjoyed this so much. 👌
OMG this was amazing everybody loved it !
Beautiful! I enjoyed the true southern hospitality in this video and will def try this recipe
Love this recipe! Thanks!
Wow! It made me so hungry yum! I never had grits so I would like to try it too! Keep cooking! ThNks!
I’m with you Paula. I have an induction stovetop and I hate it. It’s harder to get a feel for how hot and even your food is cooking. But, induction or not, this recipe is a “must try”!! Thank you for sharing!
What a fun video. Tim, you rock! I'm glad I saw this because I really don't know how to make this dish. I've been looking for grits for some time now and can't seem to find them. Once I do, this will be on the menu at my house! Thank y'all. Have a wonderful day!
Good morning beautiful friend ..hope you have a wonderful week ahead love you♥️😘
Look in the cereal aisle in the grocery store. You can find them in a box and sometimes, Quaker Oats has them in a cardboard tube. I love the tube because you can open and reseal it. I hope that helps.
@@barbaravance6774
Thanks, Barbara. I'll check it out. 😊
I love you Paula. This is one of my favorites thank you
Oh thank you, thank you! I have been requesting your shrimp n grits ever since you started the quarantine videos! This looks so super delicious, my mouth is watering! I can't wait to make this dish. Paula, and Tim... You made my day and a great start to the week. Thank you! 💕💕💕💕💕🐾🦃😋🇺🇸. Hey Eddie n Theresa! I am so happy to watch this video. Yayyyy!
I just Love Shrimp & Grits ❤️ I will try this 😊
Tim is adorable!!! One day I’ll get to the Creek House from NY! I hope thats the day Paula stops by! Id be squealing like a kid on Christmas!!! That dish had me drooling! 💖💖💖
There you are hope you are ok.. haven't seen you in awhile my friend. I have missed you. Have a wonderful night love you ♥️
Oh he's such a gentleman! 😊
I think you should call your show Good Food and Giggles with Paula as that is exactly what you do. Quarantine or not, keep the recipes and Q&A coming.
Yes!! Midwest LOVES grits, but, we also LOVE cream of wheat!! It's for breakfast, adding sweetener, BUTTER, & milk. I've been eating cream of wheat for 58 years! Add a piece of buttered toast, too. 😋 A fantastic breakfast when it's winter, snow on the ground. But, we also eat grits, here in VERY southern Indiana.
When it comes to
fork/spoon grits, most love FORK grits. LOVE adding some cheese, cream, pepper. Today is Monday, November 9, 2020. ❤💖❤💖
My grandparents are from the south. Lol. Yes we put sugar in our grits 😋. And I put a sunny side up egg with garlic, pepper, salt and hot sauce on top 😋. Yummy!! But I myself make them savory also. Gonna make some now.
I had shrimp and grits at the Blue Marlin in Columbia, South Carolina in 2004. I’ve never forgotten and have never had them since.
thank you! now i'll be sure to make this authentic dish.
Paula Deen knows exactly what seasonings to add to make Southern Food kick. Gone grrrl.
Yes baby
My husband always hate grits and sunny side up eggs for breakfast, and my six kids were raised on a bowl of grits with scrambled eggs. I put a little bit of butter in the grips along with a little bit of sugar oh, and they age that pretty much every morning.
Never had grits in my life but I’m going to now! I grew up eating the boxed cream of wheat on occasion with sugar, butter and milk. I love shrimp but it’s that gravy I’m going to have a weakness for.. the entire combination looks delicious, I can’t wait to try this recipe. Tim is delightful, he and Paula make a great team. 👍🏼😊🌻
Paula I use quick grits also I cook them for about 30 to 40 minutes as well I grew up on grits and I love them. As a child my daddy always put cheese in his grits and I thought everyone ate them like that but to my surprise a lot of people didn’t . Also as a kid I would always put sugar in mind if we did have cheese...🦋🦋🦋
Our family loves Tim. We are Savannah natives. We moved to Charlotte for my husband’s job in 2015 but when go home for visits my children love eating at the creek house. You can’t find good seafood up here like at home.
You always do Southerners proud discussing our food culture and history.
Our favorite breakfast is to scoop up a bowl of grits and add to it: 2 over easy fried eggs, chopped bacon or breakfast sausage, chopped tomatoes and, if we want to get indulgent, shredded cheese. So dang good!!! And, if anyone gets a hankering afterwards, they can scoop up the leftover grits, sprinkle in some sugar and a splash of milk. Yum!
That looked delicious! I was so happy to see Tim make the Shrimp recipe. I grew up on grits so that I can make! That was so funny when Paula talked about people that put sugar on their grits. My Mother was raised in the south and I can not even imagine putting sugar on grits! What in the world!
Love Tim. This shrimp and grits looks great. Cooking it soon!
I'd suggest maybe adding the cream slowly or you're gonna seize up your flour mixture. But it looks delicious and I'll be making this asap!
So yummy 😋 😍 can't wait to try ...
West Tennessee born and bred here. Just to let yall know, in our house, morning grits get butter and sugar and evening grits get cooked like y'all did here; salty and savory.
I love this recipe I love me some grits and I also love shrimp so thank you for sharing this recipe🤟🤟🤟👍👍🧡💛🤩😍🥰🍤
Tim Turner you are so nice. Paula is lucky to have you! I ate this recipe when we visited Bubba's years ago. Hope to return. Paula, keep the videos coming. Do you have a favorite pie recipe to share?
I'm from Tennessee and I grew up eating sweet grits. We'd add sugar while they were cooking and once it was in the bowl we'd add syrup. Eat with buttered toast.
Me to friend it's wonderful 😁
Great recipe...great young man! Coincidentally, I am making shrimp and grits this evening!
Joe has asked that I cook him some shrimp and grits, so this is perfect timing. So glad you didn't do a tomato base.
How would you do a tomato base? By adding tomatoes to the sauce, or tomato paste maybe? Curious. Thx.
@@stacey5925 in Louisiana we don’t do a cream-based sauce, but it sounds delicious. Our is more like a shrimp scampi, but with bits of sausage, bacon, mushrooms and chopped tomato. I make it for Christmas Eve.
@@sallieannwestbrook9769 that sounds so very good. I like the idea if tomato and mushrooms, etc. What time is dinner? 😂
Beautiful & So True Stavos333!! Love this post!! Would you Please send this to me?? I don’t know how to copy & paste from here!!

This Paula Deen's Creek House Shrimp and Grits recipe looks so delicious Paula and Tim.
Shrimp and grits. So comforting😋
Paula, I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and I have deep country roots on the maternal, paternal, and in-law sides. I've been eating grits since I sat on telephone books in a chair. For a breakfast cereal and snack, I like butter, raw sugar and milk in my grits. I like them thick for a fork or creamy with a spoon. With fish, I want gravy or cheese on my grits. I like fork grits with bacon or sausage and eggs; egg yolks taste good mixed in your grits. Grits are good with anything... jalapenos and grits... hot sauce and grits, etc., etc., etc.
“Home Sweet Home Cooking with Paula”
Ohmyshrimpandgritslovingheart! That looks divine!
I glad I ran across this video. This will n my FIRST attempt to make this. I hoping it taste good. I havent had grits since a child. Mom's used to put butter & hunt of brown sugar in it...Soo tasty!
Paula I have tried so many times to make this dish, and although I have very Cajun relatives, this is the southern dish I cannot seem to accomplish!!!!
I ate at your Creek House last week while my brother was in town. I had the crab legs, and they were the best I've had in many years!
Hi Miss Paula. Tim is such a nice young man, it was nice to meet him. Nice video. TFS. God Bless.
I'm jealous not being with you to try this recipe. I want to make this soon for me & my husband! Thanks for the recipe!!
*CAST IRON SKILLETS*
March proudly in the kitchen when everyone is asleep. Everything is far better tasting when prepared in a cast iron skillet. Mmmmm. 😋
That’s for sure - especially fried chicken!
@@Momma-angela
YES!! The number one food made to perfection, only in a cast iron skillet!! Nothing else can even compete!! Nothing.
@@mddell58 YES!!!
@@billiegoodman4872 when is the next fried chicken night at your house!?? I’ll be there!! Haha jk, but I’m really sure it’s good!
I love Cream of Wheat. I add butter and brown sugar. My mom always made them. She's originally from Pennsylvania. I didn't have grits until I went to college in South Carolina. I like both.
My grandma always makes butter cheese grits she uses a half a stick of butter 🧈 then half a cup of Gouda Cheese 🧀 or more depending on how grits you make! And my grandmother does the holy trinity mix of vegetables just she doesn’t add celery and replace the celery with bacon and bacon grease paparika and salt and pepper!
I went into the Army in 1975 and had grits when I went to Korea for the first time and never stopped eating them. Butter, salt and pepper then some more butter😉
My son goes to your place all the time ! His favorite is shrimp and grits!
Ok that looks absolutely delicious..definitely going to fix this .. as soon as I lose another 10 lbs..🥴😉🥳
West Tennessee here, I love cheesy grits and grits with sugar!
Paula reminds me of Flo on sitcom Alice, “Whatever flips your switch”, lol and I’m a southerner, born and bred in Charleston South Carolina! Lol
Paula, you need to get on Magnolia TV with Joanne and chip Gains network and get your show back on tv
I've never heard of putting shrimp in your grits but it sure looks good. I'm going to give this one a try.
This is one of my husband's favorite meals. Shhh🤫 don't tell Paula, he likes it with Andouille sausage and cheese grits. But, I'm gonna try these this week.
I live in north Carolina and i grew up with grits for breakfast and always put butter and sugar in them. we always put sugar in grits, oatmeal, rice, and but only at breakfast .Savory grits were at lunch and supper.
Can you PLEASE do a quarantine cooking video on a humming bird cake !!
We have a whole debate on whether folks out salt and pepper or sugar on grits. I honestly love BOTH! It depends on the day
I've never had shrimp and grits, but I want to try them so bad. I eat my grits with salt pepper and butter and red eyed gravy if there is some made up
Cinnamon, butter, and sugar with butter toast to dip in the grits😁 childhood favorite...
I still put pieces of toast in mine and no cinnamon. Yum.
Looks yummy.
Look so good!
Spoon grits all the way!! This Tennessee girl LOVES shrimp and grits!!
