This is my take on the original welcome music, touched up as how I would have imagined it would sound if it were made today. Enjoy :)

XP is still the best OS ever made but unfortunately in the Technology world old age automatically makes something obsolete no matter how effective it is. I don't really care about developers either as developing for XP would only increase revenue for people that still use it.
As if the original music wasn't nostalgic and beautiful enough, this one just goes straight into the feelings and penetrates them, perfect work dear uploader.

Nostalgia overflow. Some of the best late night gaming sessions I've had were under trusty 'ol XP. This song reminds me of taking a break at 3am, going outside for a bit of fresh air while staring at the stars.
Who knew I would feel such strong emotions for a few thousand lines of code.

NT 5.1 had nothing to do with windows Xp. Xp is a merge between the windows neptune and windows odyssey who were projects made by Microsoft back in 1999. (Fix me if i have a mistake).
Back in the day when Microsoft put huge effort in to there operating systems, back in the time when they cared about giving there users and fanbase an amazing experience. Windows XP was one story of an OS that had massive effort put into it, and moved the future of computing forward, when they tried different things and tested the outcome. Windows NT for consumers, amazing look and feel (at the time), and ease of use without dumbing everything down like Mac OS X does... It's a shame to see that modern versions of Windows seem like byproduct, small modifications of Windows Vista, bye Innovation, Bye, the Microsoft, and Windows we once knew and loved, it's gone now, because of lack of innovation. Rip Windows XP: 2001-2014, Rip Microsoft Innovation: 1990-2005, later builds of Longhorn ruined the future of Windows. please Microsoft, make the next Windows 10 update as legendary as Windows XP, you will never be forgotten Windows XP.

While i have heard of it and even used it the day i was able to get it, if you read on a little bit more, Microsoft is afraid of taking a risk and if it does not turn out to be good, they will heavily modify it, people did not like Windows XP on launch, neither did they like 8, but Microsoft stuck with Windows XP and it became popular. Windows 10, although has noteworthy things within it, does not try to take any risk's that benefit the company or the user (the one os for all is kind of a cool idea though).
Windows 8 just ruined everything. Windows is just now an OS with uncreative visuals. I think Vista is nice, it was just to ahead of its time. 7 was really nice. I don't know about Windows 10.

Hello, I am a 19-year-old guy, I write this message from 6 years in the future, to tell you the future of Windows.
Today is November 20, 2025, today marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Windows 1.0
In May 12, 2021, Windows 11 is released after almost 3 years of development, and includes this wonderful masterpiece while it is installed.
Windows Server 2022 was also launched in March 30 of that year.
The day Windows 8 support ended, Microsoft has already announced that Windows 11.1 would be released in December, and that they are making the first plans for Windows 12, OS that would be released on February 16, 2025
Today Windows 12 40th Anniversary Edition is finally released. I was one of the first to try it out, and it has all the Windows themes, from 1.0 to the current version. I chose the Windows XP theme as the default theme, because it brings me a lot of nostalgia and is one of my childhood symbols.
To finish this message, Microsoft announced that Windows Server 2026 will be released in a period between April and May of the next year

Actually to all the people sad about windows xp losing support its not fully out of support theres the posready 2009 registry hack which will get you updates till 2019 so that's exactly what I did with an old computer I had and its working surprisingly well

One of my best memories ever mixed with the style of modern music just feels oh so amazing.
Such a beautiful piece of music, nostalgic and relaxing at the same time. Windows XP has been the best operating system. User friendly and easy to configure with a very nice user interface. Not as the awful minimalistic interface of Win 10 which also is a nightmare to configure. I still use Windows XP and Windows 7, the best! 👍

I really miss using xp. By far the most stable OS made by Microsoft. Windows 7 is great as well, and will be with me until it's support dies. I refuse to use Windows 10 due to stability issues, even if it has new features.

Basically, it's a small registry hack that fools windows update into thinking you're running Embedded POSReady 2009 (itself a slightly modified XP) and essentially gives you security updates until april 2019.

If Microsoft ever do make a new Windows, it should be like Windows XP. No more re-hashes of Windows 7 (8, 8.1 and 10 felt too similar to Windows 7, even though I really like Windows 7). I honestly don't care if they remove stuff like Cortana, the built-in shitty Xbox app that only allows you to change your name for free once etc. They should even put some music in the out-of-box-experience (OOBE) screen as well. Windows 10 was just too buggy for me; start menu sometimes doesn't function, the shitty Xbox app that says it allows for more than one account even though it doesn't, missing textures and lighting errors in some games, games run in 4:3 instead of 4:3 stretched with no way to change it and so on. I hope they stop using numbers and go back for monikers (like XP) again. They will never do that though.
NinelivesBobcat Windows 10 is the new Windows. They're not doing the old thing anymore, I think they're following in the footsteps of Apple and just releasing updates to that operating system instead of releasing an entirely new one every few years.

Though it's been a while now, Windows XP & Server 2003/R2 will always be around. Some of us use it on some XP-era retro type builds (like myself), along with some businesses using it still. Know of a place that uses XP still on the cash registers, which makes me happy to see it in the wild still.

My first pc was gifted, I think it had something like a 750mhz cpu and probably 256 of ram 🤣 man them days were such a learning curve breaking and fixing it, I learnt a LOT about xp and the os in general back then lol I was constantly being asked to fix my friends pcs and laptops, good times

This is an amazing remix to one of the best Startup Installation to an operating system I can remember, and I'm kind of old being 36. Tons of memories and times long gone, but not forgotten due to this musical Gem. It might even be close to say that this is better than the original, but no it has it's own charm to it from the original. Peace out, and there's always, always more to explore!

I am not sure why everyone says that the original to this piece was from Win XP. I know it was used then but I first heard it in 1995 on a Internet Explorer install disk. The IE logo was spinning in the background when it was loading. I have VERY STRONG memories of that tune and playing it on loop all night, every night back in the day on my first computer I ever built. It was for sure 1995.
