It is important to note that Rode did NOT buy Mackie, but the Parent Company to Rode, The Freedman Group, purchased Mackie. Which also owns APHEX, Event and SoundField. Mackie had 15 years ago mostly been sold to another Capital group who then sold to Freedman.
I'm liking this style of reportage. Good format, you pull it off well. I think covering "updates" to already released products is just as valuable as covering product announcements. (especially considering they are computers underneath #amirite?) And timely as all get out (good always to have the editors on hand to get these out quick). 👍
that's technically true, but they put out the press release as "RØDE Acquires Pro Audio Leader Mackie" rode.com/en-us/about/news-info/rode-acquires-pro-audio-leader-mackie
@@aaronpk But still kind of misleading on their part. They put a spin on it since no one knows The Freedman Group. But in the grand scheme of it who really cares.

It's interesting that the press releases wanted to phrase it that way! mackie.com/en/news/all/rode_acquires_mackie.html
@@aaronpk I know some things about this but not going to say them publically. If you want I'll send you an email

Thanks! Ironically I ended up editing this myself because I filmed it last night and my editor doesn't work on weekends 😆
Thank you Aaron. All good info.
Actually Rode did not acquire Mackie but The Freedman Group did. The Freedman Group owns Rode, APHEX, Event and SoundField.
