Thank you to anyone who found this video and gave it a quick watch. This was me pouring out my raw feelings and emotions about Rooster Teeth, I needed closure and wanted to say my thanks and this felt like the best choice for me. I hope anyone who enjoyed RT can share their memories in the comments and find peace and solace, good things will come.
It's like watching a family member pass away in hospice. They've been a shell for a long time but you're happy to finally see them at peace and you can reflect on all the good memories. I'm happy I got to be there when they were at the top, and I'm happy that I wanted to work for them, even though I didn't end up working for them and dropping out of college. They got me to where I am in life with a job (firefighter/emt) that I love.
Just like a family member it still hurts, but you can reflect on how you spent 21 years of your life with them and feel some sense of closure in that. Also same about wanting to work for them, their old videos made it look so fun in their office.
It was expected, but its still sad to see it. While i lost interest in them, i still hold the memories from before close to my heart. Its truly a shame
What a story of highs and lows, man. Their first error was deciding to market their image as one of hyper-progressive values while housing some people that directly violated those values, doing some pretty heavy PR damage. Their second error was introducing large investment from outside bodies who didn't understand what they had purchased, leading to rampant misdirection and mishandling of their resources and output. Their third was being too steadfast and unmoving in modifying the content they were producing to match the ever-shifting algorithm and public taste. They were always a company from a certain internet age, but that age had passed a long time ago. To be fair, they had no control over the decline of gaming's prevalence in the RUclips algorithm. A lot of gaming focused channels are feeling that pressure now. I have to imagine that seeing no growth/possible regression over time in your analytics has to be pretty heartbreaking. I don't know if we'll miss it because we miss the content, or if we miss how the content made us feel when it matched our sense of humor. Or maybe we just miss being younger, less constrained by responsibility, and what we found humorous back then. In the end, you still miss it regardless. Like a friend who you drifted away from over time, but still hope they're doing well, only to find their obituary in the paper.
A few years ago I would have been pissed and crying over RT being shutdown. But with what RT has become, with all the mismanagement, controversies, show quality and just toxic things they've done I'm not really bothered. They brought it on themselves. This is deserved.
They weren't able to adapt to the new generation of people and their preferences, they really pushed the envelope of being an inclusive yet faceless company. I feel they only did this because so much had come out about being a toxic discriminatory environment and wasn't genuine. Because of all that has happened now 150 people have lost their jobs and I feel for them.
@@punkyard. yeah, I disagree with that guy above they didn’t deserve this. Yeah, it hasn’t been the same over the last several years. I kind of agree that they weren’t able to adapt to the changing times But I have to ask the preferences of the new generation what are those preferences or were?
The part of you that left is where you where at that time, for some they were young and full of joy. For others it was a darker time, don't let the end of their channel change who you are now because its better than you were before. They raised you up in the darkest of times and now that you're doing better their job is done and their time is up.
It was my brother who introduced me to RVB and Roosterteeth. Afterward, I saw Let's Play Minecraft and theirs others LP, RWBY, X-Ray and Vav, Death Battle, Camp Camp, Nomad, and RWBY Chibi I'm going to miss them for what they done for those of us who survived Covid. 😢😢😢 I also have a tribute for them as well. But I don't know if I can do it...
I got a lot to say I haven’t been a super fan in years but I have been fan since 2005 I am angry at Warner Brothers for doing this My whole day was ruined when the news dropped Did RT have a shitty side? yes I’ve come to accept and acknowledge that this was more or less part of my childhood and it’s really fucking messed up to not just get disbanded, but not even on their own terms, but because Warner Brothers was too cheap with them. But we have to remember this… rooster Teeth won’t be gone it just won’t be there
It was pretty darn hard to make this video, you can hear my voice grow weak at points and when editing I had to step away a lot when putting together the montages of RT 🥲
Its sad to see them go i used to watch the gaming videos and the rooster teeth podcasts a lot back when i was a kid in school and also when i was in college and then i got a job and watching youtube videos just fell off. 2 years ago i tried to get into watching the gaming videos again but it was a different crew and the comedy just was not there anymore i felt like.
@@punkyard. Honestly i only watched achievement hunter/ let's play, the RT podcasts i used to LOVE it when gus, gavin, barbara and burnie were all on together and maybe a few slow mo guys videos.
It’s a sad state, I went to go buy something before they closed the doors for good but, after looking at their catalog. It was dog water it really showed how they changed. I couldn’t find but 1 shirt that had the old cock bite logo. There was no tower of pimps merch. A lot of low quality RVB appreciate. And to me the worst thing that I saw was the “just be nice” RT jacket. Unless it has a joke with it, it seemed like the most polar opposite of what rooster teeth was. But yeah as time moved pst 2014 they lost their edge
I got some pretty sick lookin' AH swim shorts. But other than that no nostalgic merch (which I imagine was phased out long ago sadly) or anything really good that stood out. Their merch game was never really too good
Yeah, I believe that companies should remain neutral. A lotta people didn't like when Jack would get political and regardless of his opinions it just made me uncomfortable and I'd rather see his points on his social media as he's more likely to have more fans that agree with him there. Though I feel he was right to tell off haters during the livestream as 150 people lost their jobs.
I think you need to take the picture in your thumbnail and put it next to a picture from the crowd at the last live stream. The response to that would probably be, thank Christ this zombie is dead. BTW, you didn’t blur out Ryan’s face in the thumbnail. I guess you’re trying to make a statement (which you don’t need some editing gesture to be clear about), but be at least be consistent.
Yeah, doesn't feel right thanking him for the memories as he's tainted a few plus i never was a big Ryan fan. I also didn't want to upset anyone who holds even worse feelings towards him.

Super Best Friends is gone, Achievement Hunter is gone... IS THERE NOTHING LEFT!?
I forgot about Zaibatsu.....

Red Vs Blue and Rwby helped me fight through depression. I feel like a peace of myself is going with them.

@sweeny60 The dream Podcast crew. Loved listening to them on car rides home as they talk about the turn of the century and rant about apple
