It's because anyone feels this way and says something roosterteeth and the fanboys just call hating and claim you're a hater who just wants them to fail. The biggest problem is they can't take any real criticism and feedback and just call it hate.

Pretty much the same boat. Huge RvB fan from the time it originally came out. I went to events they hosted around Austin with friends growing up. I'll never forget getting to play Halo CE at Alamo Drafthouse on their movie screens (small event, maybe 100-200 people back then). It was an RvB watch along with the creators, great times.

Exactly man. I found rooster teeth when I was 11 years old when I found the shopping list Minecraft let’s play. From then until 2017 I’d watched every single piece of content they released on every channel. Now all I can watch is off topic and RT podcast.

There was a computer repair store by my house, I asked if I could intern there non-paid, the owner told me no, he had enough interns, maybe next year.
Someone else in the store yelled out "Church, check this out!" I said "Church? that's an unusual name" He told me they all got nick names from a web series, I asked him if it was Red Vs. Blue.
He was surprised I had seen it and we talked about the show for about ten minutes.
After our conversation he said "well we've only got one name left, you'll be caboose, come in tomorrow."
It was my first day in my career that I work in now, 14 years later. I still keep the nickname too. That show means a lot to me, it kinda sucks to see it fell off, but you described the feeling we all got from watching it well.

That clip from Geoff really pains me. Hearing how he’s on the verge of tears while also being on the verge of screaming his head off, it’s not only a testament to his willpower, but it hurts to see someone hold that all in, even if it’s for just a moment to sound civil and reasonable.
RoosterTeeth will always be my favorite channel. I may find them less interesting in the future, I may end up despising every video they release, but I will always love them and respect them and owe them my life.
RoosterTeeth helped me when my life was at it’s worst, and they helped me discover who I am. I owe them everything, and I will never forget that, regardless of what content comes out in the future.
I see creators bashing them for questionable decisions, calling out specific employee’s for simple issues, or even making light of their tragedies and it makes me sick. RoosterTeeth, even now at it’s much larger, much more successful self as it just passed it’s 17th anniversary, is still a small company. They may be partnering with DC for some stuff, they may have sold out, but they are still a small company full of loving, passionate creators that will always have my heart.

I found RT just as I was entering middle school. Fails of the Weak was my favorite show and episode 11 was the one that hooked me. That summer I found RvB and binged it a couple times through on my moms laptop. Over the next year or so, I watched just about everything RT had on their site, became a sponsor and even hung out in their chat rooms. In eighth grade, I got an Achievement Hunter hoodie for Christmas, just the normal black one with the logo. I became known for that hoodie. In my Spanish class, there was a shy kid who had just moved and had no friends. I even thought to myself “what an awkward kid” and then one day he came up to me and said “you’ve got an awesome hoodie” we talked about AH and then RT. After that he sat next to me in class, I rode the bus home with him since we apparently lived super close by each other. We became great friends because of a hoodie. The second year of our friendship, we were sophomores in high school and that Christmas, I bought him an AH hoodie, the same one I had worn for years. His was brand new and still a nice dark black whereas mine was sun faded, torn, and stitched in a couple spots. I credit RT for having great content and being a way to meet new people. My closest friend found me because I had a hoodie with some weird green star on it and I don’t think I would’ve ever really crossed paths with him if I hadn’t found RT. I may be on the fence about some of their content now but this video has reminded me of the passion they put in it. That clip of Geoff was a somber reminder delivered on the head of a sledge hammer. I appreciate this video for what it has reminded me of

Geoff honestly seems like the only one of the founders with an ounce of sincerity left in him. Any time some big event happens for the company now, he’s always the one who gets on camera and gets real with the community. Meanwhile Matt and Burnie might as well be invisible to fans, Joel is no longer part of the company and is never given his dues as a founder, and Gus as far as we know just does the podcast. I think the big thing really is that the cast and crew we grew up with just isn’t there anymore apart from achievement hunter whose only super notable losses have been Ray, Mica, and Andy, two of whom never really got significant screen time. But with these newer people also come younger people who have new and different ideas that the older guys probably wouldn’t think of. Some of it works and fans really enjoy it, like on the spot and always open, but for a lot it just seems to fall flat, like the more recent seasons of RvB or their Video Game development history. The thing is they’re trying things to get new audience, but not doing as much for their older audience anymore it feels like, which isn’t a bad thing, but if you can’t please the fans you already have, you will end up losing them.

Burnie and Matt have come across as corporate types for years who are giving the answers that are trying to appease people without making waves; I don't feel like either has made a genuine statement for years. Even in his big farewell post, it felt like a politician reading a prepared statement.

    • @loudgoat5241
      @loudgoat5241 4 года назад +16

Geoff has always come off as someone who cares very much about the content he produces. Sometimes stuff is a flop, sometimes something is just a mess, but even then he is always looking at it, willing to be honest with what didn't work, and looking forward to make something great the next time around. Ray was a favorite for many of us who liked AH specifically and when he started losing enthusiasm and then left that seemed to be a breaking point with a lot of fans. Geoff just kept rolling and elevated Jeremy, who turned out to be an excellent choice, and for a lot of people their favorite AH video is UNO: The Movie, which came after all that.
So, I still don't understand what happened that Joel left, or all the details of why stuff is falling apart pretty hard. I don't care that much either really, its not my business. But I did watch that entire pre-podcast bit with Geoff from last year discussing the layoffs, and seeing that same Geoff honesty and care makes me root for him whatever comes next. I hope he can turn it around. Maybe it even has to come in a different format or with different people, but he's the one I'd trust to reemerge with something cool.

Jeremy can be cool and all, but there is nothing quite like the dynamics of the group of Geoff, Jack, Gavin, Michael, Ray and Ryan (before all his controversy came about) from earlier AH. When they started adding Jeremy, Matt, and the rest, the crew turned a bit too young in terms of humor and culture for many peoples' liking, including my own. I can understand the love and respect you have for Rooster Teeth, and I'm not siding with any of the people making angry rants just for the sake of it or hoping they go under. But the main message I got from watching this video is "Don't criticize companies that have made content you love in the past" and that's not exactly something I agree with. You can still criticize someone if they hold your respect, or even if you cherish the memories you have with them. Criticism isn't inherently bad or unwarranted on it's own, it is the context of and what's contained within said criticism that decides that.

    • @NerdOnTheStreet
      @NerdOnTheStreet 2 года назад

@@MauiWowieOwie I agree Season 10 would have been a great ending, it was basically the climax plot-wise. Season 13, the end of the Chorus trilogy which went back to the machinima roots, would have also been a decent stopping point (especially with its intentional indefinite cliffhanger commentating on how the hero doesn't always get to see the end.) Season 14 was basically just a set of bonus videos, Season 15 was a nice one-season parody of the Chrous trilogy that also had a very satisfying ending.
The point is that they've had SO MANY amazing places where they could have ended it! But instead it just keeps going. I stopped watching when they started incorporating live-action. (Which is a little hypocritical, since I turn my head away from people who stopped watching when they started incorporating animation, lol... but the writers also permanently changed around that time, iirc.)

While I agree with many of your points, you didn’t mention some of the biggest controversies they have faced in the last few years, not to mention the last few days (I get this is a few months old but recent things shed more light on the situation). I was one of those people Geoff mentioned during his video. I had a mod points and badges first 10000 to sign up on their websites social media. Yes, most of us changed, that’s life. But RT turned its back on its community and started lowering their quality of content and expected people to pay more for it. I don’t blame them for “selling out” but I do blame them for pretending to sell gold but giving us gold painted shit. More money should mean higher quality but the inverse happened. I will always appreciate classic RT but this new organization is so unrecognizable I can’t in good conscience continue to support them. Which makes me sad. But the truth sometimes is that way.

My first incident was with support staff before and after the buyout. I made a dumb mistake around 2013, and they (the bearded IT guy at the time) helped me out, I got my money sorted out, and I got my item. Come 2017, I had my credit card stolen, cancelled it, and it didn't auto-renew my RT Sponsor account (I had since 2013 due to that helpful exchange). I sent a message to explain and they (just faceless RT support) basically said "tough luck, pay the new rate" and I haven't looked back since. It's disappointing.

I completely lost interest when Mica started getting shit on by the community constantly. I was a big fan of Michael, but the way he spoke to her made me feel unwelcome in the community too. I remember an off topic podcast in 2016 where she is explaining what racism is like and he talked down to her like she was an idiot. Burnie was right there and as far as we know, he never did shit to fix the problem. And nobody said anything when the comments on that podcast mocked her ruthlessly.
I watched the recent apology podcast and it felt like Geoff was trying to take all the blame to absolve the company of any responsibility. They pretty much just filmed an hour of the company's backbone sobbing and pointing out every one of his personal flaws. RT letting him take the fall is just another negative, not a positive. It was also too late. Not a week too late, not a month too late, but 4 YEARS too late.

I found RoosterTeeth through Michael's rage quits years ago, and then fell in love with Achievement Hunter. I watched for years, and loved it to pieces, and through it I ended up loving RT too. When Ray left AH, I was so devastated. For a little bit, I couldn't watch any AH videos without really feeling the hole that Ray left. But you know what? About a year later I went back and realized that AH was still great. I still go back and watch old videos sometimes, but I love the newer faces in the AH videos. I can't even believe there was a time without Jeremy. RT, though, just seemed so wrong when I came back. I could never figure out what happened to RT, but the content has never struck a chord with me since. I'm certainly less invested in their content (used to rewatch RVB & RWBY, Let's Plays esp. Truth is things in my life changed and the company/content changed, and that's not a bad thing. Like how your friendships change from middle school to highschool to adulthood. There is a whole new generation of the fanbase who love their stuff and are discovering it for the first time (heck, I didn't jump into RvB until Reconstruction and Recreation were out). Fans can bemoan how much RT has changed, but like CE's video points out, RT as a company has shifted and evolved at least half a dozen times before now, just like any company. The only difference is that their fanbase are as invested in the company as they are in the content, and pick apart every bit of news about them.
TL;DR RT has changed and so have I, and that's okay.

I've had a similar experience, but with Smosh. I used to watch their content all the time, and even when they branched out into a second and third channel, I enjoyed those. And then.. it changed, and I was disappointed. I liked Ian and Anthony, and I enjoyed the Smosh Games crew too, and that was great. But then Ian and Anthony stopped being on Smosh Games very much. And then the Smosh Games crew started falling apart. And then Smosh brought in a bunch of new people. And then Ian and Anthony stopped being in Smosh videos very often... And at some point I realized that I watched this channel to see and enjoy the chemistry between two people who are barely there. So I stopped watching. It was disappointing, but I don't hate them for changing. I just move on.
Rooster Teeth was something I discovered via RvB appearing on youtube, probably around season 6 of the show. (2008-9) and I watched through the whole thing to that point, then discovered the RT Shorts, and other things on RUclips. I soon found Achievement Hunter's Minecraft videos (there were like 5 at the time), and while I didn't much care for achievement guides and such, the gameplay stuff had me hooked. Ten years and over 300 episodes later, I'm still watching AH Minecraft and GTA, and a lot of their other videos. In AH, I've enjoyed most of the new faces they've brought in, though Fiona and Alfredo still annoy me sometimes. I am however, far less inclined to watch RT Shorts and live action stuff now, because it feels like all the original people have stepped back from the camera and been replaced with a new group, which I liked okay, and then that team is now gradually giving up the spotlight to a new group which are.. ehh. Gus and Geoff still appear sometimes, and I'm happy to watch them inevitably be the funniest people in the room. But like, a video of Mariel and Christina and Max doing something.. I just don't care. I don't hate them or resent them for making it, nor do I resent Burnie for leaving the company. It's just disappointing. But when there are no more people that I care about, I'll stop watching. Simple as that.
To address the 'turning point' a lot of people had, I didn't have too much problem with Ray leaving. He was good and I missed him, but I very quickly grew to accept Jeremy as one of the team. He fits in super well in my opinion.

    Um, I beg to differ.
RT has certainly changed in the last few years. Plenty of people who started the company aren't there anymore. Plenty of scandals, not just the most recent one. They attack their own fans and tell them to fuck off on Twitter. They have declared themselves a social justice company and have hired a lot of political activists. They've even announced that they'll remove all questionable, insensitive and problematic content they've ever made, especially all the stuff you love so much from their earliest beginnings. Say goodbye to pretty much all of the content they've made for the first few years of their existence. Yes, RT has definitely changed, and not in a good way. Most of all, they've long lost the connection to their fans. Yes, Rooster Teeth has certainly changed, but I'm pretty sure people like Geoff see that and hate every bit of it. Some, like Bernie, just leave it all behind and that's fine, because I'd rather see the founders go and not get involved with the current bullshit that's going on at the company right now.

Sure, they may now have a better rotation of games they play, but back during the era of Ray they could pick up any game, make the video hilarious, and effortlessly rack up a million view video. Back then, every video was legitimately hilarious with great chemistry. Now, it seems they phone it in in a lot of videos. They make their GTA, Minecraft, and Gmod videos shorter now, and a lot of times they aren’t interested in the other games they play. They also moved away from gameplay on the Achievement Hunter channel and just do live-action things now, which barely get any views.

On one hand you're right I too have changed since I started to watch them in 2009-2010. But I am not and I never was one of the hate mob. Yet RT is not the same.
Their content still looks the same but doesn't feel the same.
Most of the new shows they are producing are trying to force down your throat their own illusion of how much fun they're having when in reality you can't feel the same goofiness like before. It's like they are chained by what they can and what they can't do or they have a bunch of checkboxes they need to tick.
RvB overstayed their welcome and I hope they'll leave it resting
RWBY is a series that I stopped watching because I felt annoyed by their decision and character development or lack of it actually and the story feels empty. RWBY wasn't the best anime ever but first 3-4 season you could feel the passion, the creativity and the depth. And it's simply not there anymore.
When it comes to AH it's hit or miss most of times... Some videos are golden and a lot of fun but some videos feel like they pushed out a video for sake of pushing out a video even though the quality or entertainment value is not there. Some GTA videos make me laugh uncontrollably but some videos are boring even as background noise. MC let's plays are same. TTT are fun and you really can feel that they enjoy it and they are not doing it because they have to fulfil time slot.

TTT is peak current AH and one of the only reasons I'm here for the company. Some Minecraft and GTA are gold too, and I'm always eager for when they get the Derp Crew on since that's a cast of people AH genuinely enjoys playing with. There's still videos I can't really get myself into though. For every Kamikaze there's that YDYD video of Michael walking aimlessly for half an hour. I love every one of the current cast, although Lindsay's disregard for the rules sets off my pet peeves, and seeing them genuinely having fun together is a blast. I was an OG. Been around since the VERY first video and loved the content of everything they did. To a point. For some their point was when certain people left, or were fired. Or when the videos went from 15-25 minute gold to 45 minute poorly edited talk shows on AH. Or possibly when they were bought out. There are many points and just as many variations as there are people. For me, it started with what they did to Caleb. He tried one time to get into a video and proceeded to bag on him so much that it was like they didn't even want to give the guy a chance. This, along with how they treated others who used to work there and have now gone just didn't sit well with me. Then hearing about their work environment and the toxicity of their animation department and other areas of the company just made me feel sorry for the people who worked there. I hung on for as long as I enjoyed the content, then unsubscribed. I am currently 39, I don't want to believe I aged out but maybe I did. I value my time more and more each day and I don't want to waste it on content that doesn't entertain me or is just filler because of an algorithm I'll never understand. So, goodbye RT. You provided me with countless hours of entertainment, and for that I say thank you. But for what you've become, I can only say that you've lost what little soul you had left and I hope those that are still there now can exit the company for something better, because it's only going to get worse. The only people who can retire at that company are the founders. Everyone else is on borrowed time until their views dip or corporate lays them off.

Whew... This was... Something. Rooster Teeth, too, was a BIG part of my teenage years and even to this day, I miss it. Meeting Gus, Geoff, Burnie, Becca, and Matt were THE reasons I'd go to conventions. I still have my signed DVDs and will forever cherish them. (Even The Strangerhood!) I'll never forget RVBTO where I got to see Trocadero live, watch Burnie cook up and serve some bacon-wrapped jalapeno goodies for us in the park, and the memories I made with the friends I hung out with. Their site was one I'd constant be on, but it felt like as their company grew as did my lack of interest in it.
Even with all the new content (that I wasn't really a fan of) I'd still visit the site, post my journals, and comment on ones shared by my friends. Then the increase in FIRST charges where I canceled my RT sponsorship for the first time since maybe 2005. It wasn't until whenever last year they removed everything and started their site over as a Twitter clone that I finally gave up. The RT that I had grown up with was forever gone. I still check in every now and then solely for Red vs Blue, but literally nothing else on the site interests me. I'm not mad at anyone at Rooster Teeth. Like you said; they've given us free entertainment for a good seventeen years. It was through people I met through their site that I started making RUclips videos of my own. I'll forever be grateful for that. However, it's not my community anymore. They don't make content that appeals to me anymore and all the people I enjoyed talking to have long since gone. I do wish everyone at RT the best though. They've earned whatever success comes their way.

I still watch Achievement Hunter and actually find myself loving the new people more and more, Fiona has quickly become one of my favourite members of the team.
I'm not going to lie and say things are better than ever, with the new, very corporate approach to things, and big names leaving, I'm definitely filled with anxiety. But every time I sit down and question whether to cancel my first subscription, I find far more reasons to keep it going.
Seriously, thank you for making this video. You can tell just how much time has been put into every thought you've shared

They still have passion, but it's not the same people doing the same things.
Bernie, Gus, Geoff, Matt, Joel are not in control any longer.
Joel is no longer with the company, and the original founders that remain don't answer to themselves and their customers, they answer instead, to AT&T.
They went from being their own boss(es) to taking orders from AT&T.
I hope they made bank when they sold RT to another company - which was then bought up by another company, and eventually AT&T.
I'm sure it wasn't their original plan to be owned by AT&T but once you decide to sell out, you are no longer in control.
Why do I keep mentioning AT&T? Answer me this. Do you think any of the higher ups at AT&T give a bowel movement about RT or RvB or Achievement Hunter in any way beyond $$$? I wish i could have grown up with them, watched rvb when i was a kid, like you, and moved on throughout all their new adventures, but I'm glad to be watching them today. They've inspired me to create, find friends through the community, and share my passion for their content with my own family. Though i dont know how much longer they'll be making content, or rather how much longer I'll enjoy what they make, these past two years have had a constant light shining through them from this one tiny company. Thanks for not bashing them because of your own opinions, and thanks for sharing your story. I hope there'll always be a version of RT for people, something fun and inspiring, even if it isnt a stupid internet company.

I started watching in early 2004 as a kid, I grew up with them in their early years before the golden age and saw the start of the horse series, all of the guides like ones for just cause 2 and loving every video that started with “what’s up guys it’s jack and Geoff” I didn’t know it at the time but while I was in middle school, the company, through almost all of their forms of content, helped me grow into the person that I am today. I always faced a moral dilemma when it came to watching their content these past few years and was almost upset with myself at times for not knowing what happened. But you’re right, I changed and my experience as a fan has never changed and never will, they hold such a special place in my heart and I thank them for that. Thank you for making this video

i remember Burnie doing a short video on how RT is run. They had to do things in order for the company to survive for good or bad. For a company like RT that relies on subscriptions and merchandise to survive the world financial crises and its (still on going) recovery, youtube issues and the current pandemic just show how good of a business RT is. Just like in life RT have had there hits and misses, they have messed up on occasions and i hope they learn from them. As with the current event with Joel , untill more information or statement is made by Joel or RT im not going to comment.

I remember watching RvB, Let’s Plays, and whatever else they had to offer only 6 about years ago. Monty came in and made some actual life changing parts of RvB for me. Then he created RWBY, and he became my inspiration for digital art. His passing hit me really hard. It was a bit after that that I started watching their content less and less. Not because I felt that without him I didn’t fee connected, but because after period of moving and hoping things would get better after him, it didn’t. The Vic controversy came up, and nothing but all this hate for the company and this want for them to crash and burn. I love RT, so seeing it coming to this hurts me as a long time fan. I will have hope things turn around some day and as a fan, I’m not giving up. People can hate something someone said or did, but don’t hurt everyone else around them.

      What was the Vic controversy?

    • @sibsart2039
      @sibsart2039 4 года назад +4

SnakeEyesss Clone Not aware of it? Vic Mignogna was one of the more famous anime dub voice actors. He was famous for characters like Edward Elric and Dragon Ball’s Broly. He was also Qrow’s VA for RWBY between volumes 3-6. Last year when the Broly movie came out it was a major hit. But days after the movie came out in theaters, stories of Vic being a sexual harasser and a pedo started coming up. Things like this are common, people saying horrible things to try and ruin someone successful. But then another voice actor accused him of being harassed by him. Vic was quickly and publicly fired from Roosterteeth, Funimation, and cancelled from Conventions. A lot of people started supporting the woman who accused Vic. Some other Voice actors like Christ Sabot and Sean Shemmel started supporting her. But VAs started supporting Vic too, like Todd Haberkorn who was once in some sexual harassment trouble and was proven faults. Vic started to get a lot of hate, despite many things like said voice actors very recently having fun with Vic, showing and even saying they liked the guy. A lot of inconsistencies with stories, such as a witness that was said to have been in her story saying he doesn’t remember anything bad happening. Many of the harassment stories being nothing but Vic being loving guy who hugs and kisses a lot of his fans since he’s Italian. And a lack of proof he actually did anything illegal.
Just look up kickvic and I stand with Vic videos for more information. They go back to January 2019.

While I didn’t stop watching because Ray left, I had stopped watching around that time because I had felt that the company had lost or was starting to lose its initial charm that had drawn me in years before.
But it hadn’t, the company just evolved and grew in a way that had grown outside my interests. I’m sure that new generations of viewers will come these days and fall in love with what the company is doing, like I had years ago, and I’m sure the time will come when they too grow out of it as the company begins to evolve.
    Nothing lasts forever

I think my rose tinted glasses for them dissapeared when AH stopped doing the Let's Watches. I still enjoyed the Let's Plays but the Let's Watches were comforting to me. I used to watch my brother play story based games and when I left for college it was something I really missed, the Let's Watches kinda made me feel less homesick. I watched every single one. When they stopped doing them and people asked why Jack said on a podcast "we really enjoy doing them and we'd love to keep doing them, but they don't get enough views. If you want us to keep making them you have to actually watch them." and I don't know to me it just suddenly made the point hammer home that this wasn't a few friends making videos together for fun anymore, it started to feel more to me that RT was now mainly driven by viewcount and profit margins. Once I got that feeling I just stopped enjoying their content. It felt less genuine. To be honest I probably just grew up from the parasocial relationship I'd formed as a kid. I still appreciate all the content they gave us throughout they years, but their content isn't for me anymore.

I feel like while they've obviously always tried to be successful, in the old days it felt more like they were just doing what they thought was funny/good and thankfully it worked but these days it feels like the main factor is "what will the RUclips algorithm like" or "sponsors like" or "social media" like and then they try to figure out how to make that funny. I think that's why its been a long time since I watched any of the rt stuff, I mainly watch the odd ah video if its a game I like or the ah based podcasts as those generally feel a little more like friends just being funny and not trying g for views etc..

Exactly this is what I've felt with AH lately. I resubbed to them to watch YDYD but almost every other game series they put out feels so forced for the sake of views. GTA, some Minecraft, Gmod, the thumbnails themselves scream that they're seeking that algorithm and trying to get kids to click. Half the time I can't even tell what game it is I'm seeing in my sub feed.
Very rarely do I get the feeling that they're having fun and it's not fun to watch them force comedy. Guess it all feels too cooperate :(

This video honestly made me quite emotional. I think the reason I drifted out of RT's content a bit was that as my life got busier and more stressful for a period of time, I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of content they had from all their various channels and I didn't feel like I was enjoying their content as consistently as before. However, I realise now that it was just because I was so overwhelmed with everything going on in my personal life that I didn't give the content that felt less familiar as much of a chance. Loved the respect and love you showed RT in this video and thoroughly enjoyed it; very well crafted and thought provoking! Thanks so much for making it and putting in the amount of effort you did :)

i really love this video- you can tell all of the work you put into it and how deeply rooster teeth has affected you. i only started watching rooster teeth content in 2017, so i will never really understand what it means to grow up with it and be so deeply affected by it, and then have to see it change in ways you don’t like. i, from only being a fan for about 3 years now, love a lot of what they’re doing now, but when i watch older videos i can see how much it’s changed and if i had started watching earlier i don’t know how i would feel. nostalgia is just like that i guess. i’m sure in 10 years when there’s a whole new achievement hunter cast i’ll miss my “good ol’ days” with fiona and alfredo and the rest of the crew just like you guys miss ray. either way, i respect you so much for growing and changing over the course of making this video and seeing everything from a different perspective- it shows a lot about a persons character when they can admit they’ve changed, especially when it’s about something so important to them. anyway, this comment got away from me, awesome video.

I get the feeling the fandom and the company has more trials and tribulations that they’ll have to overcome

im really glad you ended on the note you did. it's seeing geoff's passion in that exact clip that has kept me following and supporting them. it's knowing that, despite all the hard choices and adversity they face, they still fucking love their job and their community. i remember some of the shakeups before they had to layoff those 50 employees, like ashley voluntarily leaving; that move alone saved about 2 or 3 jobs. they try to make the sacrifices they feel are right to keep their company going, not for money, but for the love of it all. i love the idiots at achievement hunter, and follow them daily, even if the content isnt that good, because i want to keep investing myself into what they do. i may not follow the main branch of rt as much any more (really need to catch up on rvb one of these days), but i still do what i can to keep that ship sailing. it may not be the golden age at the moment, but they could always hit another one soon

I came to know RT through RWBY in 2014, and it's a truly life-changing experience to watch it grow while Monty was still creating it.
I made many videos about my feelings about RT's handling of RWBY since Monty's passing, with each video representing a change of perspective. At one point I wanted it all to burn too. It felt like the words of those of us who didn't like the change was falling on deaf ears, and probably still are. But in the end, it is what it is. RWBY belongs to RT, regardless of how it's handled, so the most we as fans can do is hope for the best, and adapt, and create our own stuff, the way that we like it. The company is going through controversy after controversy, so it's hard to say how it'll end up, but I still hope they can turn things around.

Can't watch them with the same amount of fondness I used to have, knowing what I know now. Same thing; can't put it into words but it all just feels so tainted after everything that's happened.

Your effort can't go unnoticed. I haven't been checking most of rooster teeth' work however I was always hooked to Inside Gaming back in the days of Machinima and then I kept following the guys till they ended up in FunHaus, then rebooting IG again and now most of them are gone. Can't say that I hate the new guys, I still watch their content but I don't genuinely laugh at their content as I did in the days of original staff (I know there were others before them too).
Seeing all that content for free for different phases from my life is definitely a privilege and I'm at the point where I'm planning on doing my own content, not for the money but just as a hobby to keep all the inspiration I saw throughout my life "alive". I have to say its people like them and YOU who really motivate me to spend tons of effort on something I like without the immediate need to monetize content.
Thank you for your thorough video and for speaking your mind out loud. If it's any consolation it really did help shape some of my thoughts and helped to inspire me as well. Whether you're going to carry on making videos or not, I really do wish you the best.
