His Uncle Roger character is insult comedy at its finest. Comedy should never be taken seriously. I think people who get offended by him just doesn’t understand the nature of comedy. He was roasting the chefs. That’s pretty standard for a comic. You’re right actually, he is very smart in how he puts the skits together. People should take these Uncle Roger reactions not as standard reactions, but as skits. That’s what they are. 🤣❤️ Excellent reaction again! Thanks!
We loved uncle Roger because he sounds exactly like a racist uncle that everyone has. We hated uncle Roger because he sounds exactly like a racist uncle that everyone has.
actually he's Malaysian; most older chinese people talk like that. he may be in the UK now, but he is most definately Malaysian, fuyooh and aiyah is actually an amalgamation of malay and chinese which is very common to hear esp in the morning markets. the way he sits is reminiscent of old chinese men in the coffee shop having their breakfast.
The Uncle Roger character's accent isn't just Chinese, but he's Malaysian-Chinese or Singaporean-Chinese. But his humor is definitely relatable to a lot of us of East/Southeast Asian descent.
His accent when speaking English isn't even a typical Chinese accent. His exaggerated accent is based on SE Asian accents combined with a very exaggerated Cantonese language. The majority of Chinese people don't speak Cantonese but speak Standard Mandarin, which would result in a completely different English accent.
@@Intranetusa that's why mainland people who speak mandarin won't understand what is wok hay 鑊氣, because it's pronounced differently in mandarin. But as someone from Hong Kong, speaking Cantonese, I immediately understand what he meant. And how his accent sounded very familiar, even though he is from Malaysia.
He nailed the accent because it's basically his own accent and his family's, he just exaggerated it a lot compared to how he normally talks, but even out of character you can still hear small bits of it if you listen carefully, and apparently his dad really has the accent that strongly.
It is not a 'Chinese' accent however, which is really surprising coming from the two Asians in this channel. It is a Malaysian, Singaporean accent. Saying it is Chinese is like when people claim Texan, Scottish accents etc is a Caucasian accent. It also happens to be a contagious and easily mimicked accent. Spend enough time in Singapore and you will catch it, lol. Just start with high tones and end your last word(s) on a lower tone, while pacing each word separately.
I think Gordon Ramsay made the video when he was recording 'uncharted' for National Geographic channel. He was learning to make Rendang from one of Indonesian best Chef
He’s basically doing a stereotype of his dad and the fathers of his Indonesian friends. He said the phone case, polo shirt, and dark pants/shorts are practically a uniform for the dads he knows.
He's a comedian so most of the insults are just for the jokes to make the video funnier but he did praise gordon alot so the insults are probably just for comedic purposes only
When i first saw uncle Roger's video, i immediately thought "is this guy malaysian?"..coz being Malaysian myself, and having lived there my whole life, i instinctively recognised that accent.. and i was spot on
This guy went to the edge of the world to learn about all kinds of local food. Great fan of Ramsay! He can't make carbonara thou if his life depended on it ... probably never been to Italy.
Indonesian " wok " has 2 ears, not one handle. And is called or . I use in my nasi goreng ( I am from the Netherlands, but Indonesia used to be a colony, so Dutch people are used to Indonesian food )
Yes..you guys are right! insulting (exposing) your culture or any culture for fun in the comedy world is HEALTHY as it rid barriers that actually creates the insult.
I'm so glad both you John and Lulu found Uncle Roger! He's kept my partner and I highly entertained over covid lolol he's a delight❤ also, keep up the awesome work and content guys, we love you!❤💋❤💋❤
Love you guys, brilliant reaction videos. Uncle Roger is hilarious. I grew up in Malaysia and egg fried rice has to be done right. Gorden only British chef that knows his stuff!!🤣
Hahaha.. this got me an idea of a Filipino version of you Uncle Roger.... "Tito Isko" hehehehe.... u nailed so much about Asian culture... cheers and more power...
A lot of people don’t know that he is very well known stand up comedian. Everyone is like he is getting famous from being uncle roger and getting good career out of youtube. Jeez
I believe Gordon once said that he wanted to know the ingredients like where they came from and use them to the upmost potential an ingredient can give. So that is why he is very knowledgeable with the ingredients plus he respects every culture where he is going! And still to this day he is learning how to perfect every dish!
This is not an insult, but a real reflection how older generation talks in english. I am asian myself, and my parents, most of my uncles and aunties all talking the same dialect as he does
Uncle Roger covers every thing with his comedy even putting his leg down most Asians will reference to this with regard to how the way they sit. Wang is a tongue and cheek reference to a guys private part. Love your reaction video stay safe.
Gordon Ramsay actually commented on Uncle Roger's video! I swear if those two are able to do a collab of any sort, that will officially be the best thing to come out of 2020
Hi. I was recommended your video/ channel today. I guess must be because of Uncle Roger's videos... Well many thanks for the reaction... Especially to Lulu's laughs...😍
You should watch making rendang session of Gordon Ramsay. You may find natural moisturizer that uncle Roger talked about. Btw rendang and nasi goreng are top 2 of world's best cuisine according to @CNN in 2017
I think these guys are not watching the video of uncle Roger in sequence! That has not sense, because it seems they don’t understand some comments of uncle!
That’s Malaysian Cantonese English accent, the typical Malaysian English accent is entirely different. We say a lot of ‘lah’s. Eg. Today you can come to my house or not? Can lah. You want to go eat roti canai or not? Don’t want lah.. and we use the word ‘already’, sometimes shortened to just ‘d’ to indicate past tense. E.g I watched that movie already or I watched that movie d.
Even about getting the right ingredient...I'm 0retty sure chili exist in the uk not as a jam. It still doesn't excuse jamie for using a JAM and shredded tofu!
Ok this is the 3RD TIME I see this video. Juicy Reacts, His and yours. Gordon Ramsay KNEW Uncle Roger watches. Actually, Ramsay gave his comment and UR pinned it. Another Legendary in RUclipsr.
I feel like his comedy is the same as when Gabriel Iglesias (fluffy) makes jokes about Latino/Hispanic culture. You can’t take it seriously it’s all in good fun, as a Latino myself I find fluffy hilarious and have never though his comedy to be offensive. I can’t speak for Asian people but I do understand that uncle Roger is just trying to make people laugh, not trying to be offensive in any way
Good comedy offends you and then reels you back in with a laugh. Like, child abuse isn't funny, so if I talk about hitting my son with my car on purpose it isn't funny...until I trip him by kicking one of his crutches. Then everyone laughs. ❤
Getting the right ingredients isn’t that hard I have a Asian store right across the road where I can get any of the ingredients in this video and I live in Australia

The only problem I saw with this is that the subject matter was Gordon Ramsey who is an "A" -hole...otherwise I think Uncle Roger could make a cow giving milk funny.

He did respect culture and use local ingredients correctly.

Mostly dads of chinese descent people or dads of any other middle to upper class families
He's actually Malaysian, but close enough
Despite all the insults, Uncle Gordon still wrote a comment on Uncle Roger's video to thank him 😂😂😂
I bet uncle Gordon were Honor because his egg fried rice got approved by uncle Roger 😂
I think Gordon laughed his ass off watching this tbh 🤣

Well I mean he hardly insulted Gordon he maybe said two things that could've been insults
Oh, that's not a stereotyped character. That's the typical informal way of some Malaysian/Singaporean Chinese talking amongst friends and relatives.
Yes and no.. he did exaggerate the accent but it's basically that
Definitely very Malaysian! I believe he's original from Malaysia so he knows just how to exaggerate the accent!
React To The World yeahhh and his style (with the phone belt) is from his father and Asian friends’ fathers.
