I got one of those, a half-stack, back in the early 1990's. It never was more than a toy or a miniature practice amp. Was OK for the time back then, but with all the progress Marshall has made with miniaturization (the current lines of bluetooth speakers sound amazing), you could expect them to bring a more serious guitar amp that sounds like something. But instead they still seem to make the same toys as 30 years ago. :-(

whats crazy to me is that there are very small bluetooth speakers with those weighted speakers that have amazing bass response, and project very well, the mini amp market should just slap a preamp on one of those.
I bought a second-hand MS4 out of curiosity and it works really well as a practice amp with my harmonica noodling. Turn up the gain for that crunchy Chicago sound.

I normally used a Tech21 bass XXL pedal but if i didn't feel like that level of distortion, i would dial the pedal down some and turn the Marshall up .
