Amon and Zaheer were the only ones who shaked the Avatar(Korra) to their inner core, all of their cycles of lives.
But Zaheer shook her worse because he tortured Korra with poison, nearly killed her, and left her crippled for 4 years. She also kept seeing him in her nightmares for 4 years with him trying to kill her.
That was just beautifully emotional and wow I'm so impressed ;-; Just...woah.
Amon's character was really deep and he would have been an even greater villain if he wasn't so short-lived. :/
And if they show more non benders
amon didn't made up the hatred, it was there, always. He just gave air to the fire.
His ideology was correct and the greatest and beneficial for the whole world for equality ,it was just his wrong path that he chosed that made him fall into darkness and atleast in the end he finally freed himself from the clutches of darkness.
well its nothing about amon per say, the writers just hamlocked him into being an evil liar because the kora had to look like the good guy
@@PowersOfDarkness this. They attacked him as a person in the end by making him a liar, sure he may not be a good person but it was never ABOUT him, was it? All the social issues he brought up we're never really addressed, why? 'Cause they can't admit he was right and bending shouldn't exist
Wehh, Amon was probably one of my favourite things about Korra-- even leading up to his death. He had so much about it and I think a lot of people saw that, but this is the first time I've seen a video that focuses on him as a whole and brings out all those important aspects of the character out. You have always been great at these sort of videos -- character studies -- and it's so great to see them ;; Well done //favs
I'm so glad I came across this, I'm not going to be able to find an AMV that can top this for awhile. Keep up the awesome work!
I hated how book one ended. None of the issues brought up by the equalists were solved. I'm not even talking about book two and the stupid love triangle, the final with giant Pacific Rim fighting Kaiju Vaatu and Jesus Jinora arriving saving the day. Nothing made sense. And the animation, omg, except for the parts with Wan it was also a huge letdown. There were numerous positive messages behind ATLA but I can't find anything similar in the new team Avatar. I agree that Amon is one of the only good thing in Legend of Korra (along with Lin) but there was so much he or at least his ideas could have brought to the show. I'm really fearing book 3 (friendly reminder that every past avatars died in book 2 and I'm sick and tired of the romances).

The Legend of Korra video game that has since been delisted from All Digital storefronts briefly brought the equalists back into the limelight. They were forced back into the Shadows since their leader was a fraud and they didn't have any real means to take bending away from people anymore.

For the time I was thinking "You would think that more people would hate on Fire nation for the things they have done" but I see that this is not really a thing anymore, considering that Kora is already like what, 19-20?
I don't even know the anime but I felt with the characters - this was great :) It makes me fear how Europe is developing and if we might face radical political changes soon.

Preach. LOK has been pretty disappointing to me so far, albeit thee first few episodes were good the rest was sloppy (including season 2) and honestly there is not one character on that show I can say I like. I mean Amon was a very interesting villain but towards the end I kinda got over his biased towards benders especially considering he was one and could've at least knowledge the good benders had done along with the bad but meh.
Amon being a bender increased his credibility to criticize the effects of bending. I don't think amon had to acknowledge the good benders as he was an anti-bending himself. Even the good things that came out of bending didn't do much good to the non-benders. You can say how bending stopped 100 year war but it was also bending that was responsible in the first place.

I admit I used to really like Amon, but then I realized they just took Hitler and made him sympathizable by showing his sad childhood and daddy issues. Looking back, none of what he did made any sense whatsoever. He still has an epic voice though. XD

the fuck are you talking abaut? the character more similar to hitler in this show is kuvira. amon is just a very bad stereotipe of "gooomunism" maked by some liberals/conservatives (and they even failed, for all the show even to the end i belived that guy was correct. he litteraly killed none and its the same stuff i will problably do if i was born in a world where superpowers exist.)
Despite the fact I understand the feeling of not having bending, Amon's method off ripping of a part of a person (tongue, arm or leg, whatever you want as a metaphor) is simply horrible and too close to cold-hearted torture.
Also, thinking once there won't be any bending there will be peace is one of the most stupid naivety I've ever seen. It's human nature, not bending that cause wars.
I can agree but you can't blame the guy for his views as to why he believes that, and it is the nature of the world and how it used its bending or 'limbs' that led him to such savagery. That's what I tried to make the intro of this vid show. How after all the wars and years he sincerely believes that what he is doing will stop the wars.
ThreadstoTwelve I think the reason is simply there was a need for an antagonist, so even if it logically won't change the wars they ignored that just to have an enemy to fight. I see Amon as someone smart, so that he "ignores" that feels forced to me.
