  • Hi Everyone, Lennie and I are preparing to sail to Mexico. The boat is ready and so are we! San Diego was one of our favorite stops in California and it is bittersweet to say goodbye to my home state.
    You all know we came here for nostalgia and to take my dad sailing on San Francisco bay. Mission accomplished. Now we head back to the tropics on the Baja HaHa rally. We miss warm water and air. We look forward to the Sea of Cortez.
    Please enjoy the episode and send us a like and comment. If you haven’t subscribed please do!

    Hey Randy & Lennie. Not sure what we boaters would do without your guidance and tips on how to properly maintain a yacht. Thanks. Liked the idea of the saildrive boots. First I have heard of that and the correct glue. Also, a big thank you for the quick meet up and foto at the Annapolis Boat Show last month. I was touched (and Lori also) at your remembering her issues and need to be here in Florida ... yes, we have now been here for 2.5 weeks ... and, no, I have not forgotten my promise to send you the foto. You guys are the best. Richard. 😊👍👌⛵️⚓️🍷

    Good night Randy. Man that was almost highway robbery for the bottom job etc... I used to think Key Largo was bad. Not anymore. I always enjoy your video's so much. The maintenance tips are very good and help break up the video. Really excited for the trip down videos. BTW, your music is so good as it relates to the subject scenes. Overall just another very nice(great) video. GOD bless you guys. Will pray for a safe passage for you. JC

Remember though, there are updates to every chart after it's published, so you need to download the update and manually mark the new hazard on your paper charts. And if Richard is ever unavailable to make a delivery for you and you're looking for a back-up delivery captain, let me know. regards,

    If you love your YETI tumbler You will love the RTIC tumbler...but...FAR,FAR LESS EXPENSIVE!!!! RTIC also makes the same terrific ice chest coolers...also at a fair better price. There is an interesting story about these two companies, but this is not the place for it.

      @@SailingSVHappyTogether Thank you for the response. I have had good luck on the Chesapeake and Cape Cod with Petit Trinidad on my 37' cutter. BTW, several RUclips catamaran sailors bash directly into head seas and then complain. In my monohull I rarely headed directly into short interval 8 to 10' seas. I "quarter" them. Power boats quarter them. Faced with proportionately larger seas, ship quarter such seas. Catamarans are ill-suited to bash into head seas. Pretend that you are tacking and quarter them one way and then "tack" and quarter them the opposite way.

    • @SailingSVHappyTogether
      @SailingSVHappyTogether  5 лет назад

      Hi Rcrogers, I agree. We never bash our cat and always 1/4 off the seas both running and going to weather. Randy

    Yikes! I'm still trying to fathom the $12,500 for a San Diego haul out! Did they kiss you first? As a Californian, I am ashamed at those who over-charge for this kind of service. By you "outing" them, folks will be all the more cautious when thinking about using someone like this! God will, karma will get them big time! How long will you be in San Diego or have you departed on the HA HA cruise by now?

      Hi Ed, I agree it was pricey but in fairness the rates were published and I knew what I was getting into. I could have waited for LaPaz but i am a perfectionist and wanted everything done before I sailed 1000 miles. Still it is very high compared to most boatyards. They did a great job though. The haha is over and was a blast! Randy
