Just wanted t thank you. I am a newish self taught hand quilter and was using my middle finger. Gotta love RUclips. I saw where you use your pointer finger so decided to try it. Oh my gosh. Game changer. It is so much easier for me and my stitches are way more uniform in length. Thanks for the suggestion!
This is my second time with this video and the last one where you showed the simple ones your Dad made. I am starting to wrap my boards right now. We live in a very wet area of Hawaii and things just do not get here, but my knees were just screaming in pain from pin basting on the floor. Using 2 plastic saw horses and 2 boards to start with. Imagine your sewing machine, pins and needles all rust in the humidity. Never occurred to me. The land where everything rusts.
When I hand quilt, I use Aunt Becky; I have 5, so I am not hunting for 1. I put them into a sealable empty Prescription bottle. I love the control I feel with Aunt Becky.
Alex, missed the live production but have watched it now. Thanks for the GREAT advice and tutorial. Question- I can't get more than 5 stitches/inch!!! How can I get to 7/inch??? (PS - bought Aunt Becky's Finger Protector- can't use it. I need to feel the needle when it comes thru.) Love your show!
I don't know if this video chat room is still monitored. But I would like to raise a question. With regards to the twist of a thread, I was recently told (by a non-pro hand quilter) that it depends on whether you are a lefty or a righty which end of the thread you knot. That the twist is dependent on which hand and therefore which direction the thread will be pulled... Any truth to this?
oh Alex I am so sorry you are going thru the mouse thing. :( We live in FL and when we moved into our home They had "remediated" but never sanitized the attic. Mouse urine can cause lung ..C...you know what I am saying? So be SURE to SANITIZE your attic.. it's so friggin' expensive. and have all the pipes in your roof SEALED with wire. :) good luck honey... :( much love
What about making them something like a quote for maybe because not everybody can put money on the go fund me or anything like that so some people maybe would probably make something for him to keep a moment that my husband that she did a football charity last year for Ukraine?

That is something I need to learn. To go in all directions.

I use a Roxanne thimble on my middle finger, using the ball of the thimble.
