I saw Mr Ramdeen Chotoo a few years ago when he was 92 and he was still singing chowtal. My brother and cousin were part of this group. He has trained many in the art of chowtal and phagwah. He was one of the pioneers of this great art.
I remember when my father and some of the older men get together and sing biraha which very much. It kept the villagers together although they had to work they made time to get together
