Solid album , after two plays it's got the trademark Flower kings hallmarks . Excellent live band :)

Great cover to this album and yet another very good album in there discography. Progressive Rock just hits the spot for me.

To be honest, I've never even heard of the Flower Kings (cool name btw) but since Pete approves its gotta be good. That being said, I'll be checking them out later.

Get ready to explore a lot more from Stoldt.
He has side projects "Transatlantic" and "The Sea Within", both bands are equally as good, enjoy!

Lodestone3 Good band, own about half their output. Stardust We Are is my favorite - great album. Have not listened to the new one yet.

Love the review and I totally agree that it takes more listens for the great stuff to really stand out. I'm new to Flower Kings, which probably helps me a lot as I have no preconceived notions about what they should sound like. One of these songs popped up in my "discover weekly" on Spotify and I've been hooked ever since.
My one issue (as with many prog bands these days) is that I think they do themselves a disservice by releasing so much music in one fell swoop. This may have to do with how often the members of the band can get together and record, not sure. I just think that shorter releases would serve them better so that the listener can comfortably take in all the music in one sitting. I think an hour and a half is a little too much to ask. There is no way that a band can release that much music at one time and not have it sound somewhat watered down.

Jonas Reingold does stuff with Steve Hackett as well, he is very good.

I have seen their stuff around forever, but somehow never listened to them. I'm going to dive in for sure. Just for something new, if nothing else. :) Thanks, Pete!

I find a album difficult to get into to start with is a keeper for life .. something I get into straight away I tire of .. just how it goes .. Opeth's In Cauda Venenum has done that for me recently .. a superb album after a few listens. I'll give this a go .. and then another ... :-)

This album wasn"t doing it for me either, so after I saw yout review, I gave it another go with ear buds on.
Right again Pete, a lot going on here, agreed, not thier best but still a great record, especially listening with head gear on, it's like it was made to be listened to this way.

Stolt is a great guitarist and this is a grower but it's nowhere near one of their best unfortunately. Got all their albums but the last three haven't been quiet as good, think this might be the last one I buy as they haven't really progressed since Paradox Hotel, Unfold the Future is still their best in my opinion. Stolt seems to have run out of new ideas like a lot of musicians do, still it's not a bad album. I have the same feeling about this as I have about the last Opeth album, good but no progression from the last four albums now. A change is needed in more than just the people in the band.
