George Formby in 'The Friday Show' - December 1960

George Formby pays tribute to his home town, Wigan, in what was to be his final television performance. The Friday Show was shown on BBC Television on the 16th December 1960, a few short months before George passed away.

Lewis,you are an absolute star! I paid my respects at George’s grave in Warrington last year before visiting his former home in Lytham St Annes. I have always enjoyed the sound of the uke and purchased one last year. My new banjolele arrived yesterday. I’ve just tuned her up and can’t wait to start practising , following you’re expert tuition of course! Keep up the good work sir!
