    YES!
You must not have heard S. Payton talk about Nix' percentage of LONG distance throws as well?! You mentioned that he is the first overall throwing completion of all college, at 77%! But you missed the fact, Payton says he took out all the Short range and blitz stats, and ran the analysis again, giving him another first place stat considering ONLY long range throws, Nix still came in at first!
But adding Troy and already having Forsyth (ALSO A DUCK), from the year prior, Nix, Franklin & Forsyth already know each other!!
Then Adding Estime who makes holes and drags defenses, he gets the job done!?
I think overall, Denver got a B+ or maybe A-, if you realize the picks chosen may not be the best for everyone's opinions, but I think the picks were the best we could grab, for our NEEDS, and hopefully Sean Payton's expertise comes through!?
    LETS GO BRONCOS!! 😎

That's correct. His opinion was based on lack of research on his part. • @user-zr4km5ns8t
      @user-zr4km5ns8t 28 дней назад +1

That simply does not track with what Payton stated expressly about drafting a 1st round QB. He said he would not draft one unless he was in love with him, which means he would not REACH for one if he thought the guy did not have what he was looking for. Whatever the NFL draft gurus thought about Nix, we should take Payton's word for the fact that he didn't talk himself into this. Anyone who thinks he did has not looked closely at the 2006 draft when he had the #2 overall pick. Sitting there for the taking were his choice of Vince Young, Matt Leinhert & Jay Cutler. He ignored all three of them & instead signed Brees, who at the time was not only nowhere near on team's radar for becoming what he would eventually be, but was coming off major shoulder surgery only 3 months earlier.
It's clear that Payton told the truth about what it would require for him to draft a 1st round QB. Whether we agree or not with the choice does not change that. He was not scared into reaching for Nix by Penix going to Atlanta. If anything, that would have made him happy if he wanted a guy like Bowers instead.

Estime ran a 4.71 in the 40 at the combine but ran a 4.58 at pro day. 4.58 isn't blazing speed in the NFL, but he's almost 230 lbs, so it's not horrible.

Bo Nix is a good pick. I'm not throwing any parties or anything, but I'm not bummed out either. IMO, there wasn't any QB in this draft class worth trading up for, and the Broncos resisted any temptations to do that. Overall, Denver did a fine job in this draft, given the modest draft capital on hand.

Russ is not a bad QB, him and Payton just have very different styles. Russ is used to sitting in the pocket with lots of blockers and hucking it way down field, but Payton is a 5 blocker, quick passing type of coach. So they didnt adapt to each other very well. Bo Nix played the 5 blocker, quick passing style at oregon so he fits Payton's style better. First of all, I'm not the biggest Bo NIx fan myself. That said however, you're displaying the fact that you failed to listen to what he said when he drafted him. He said they pulled all the underneath passes out of the equation & only looked at the intermediate & deep stuff, & the accuracy figures there for their analytics is what they relied on.
Second, I'll give you credit for saying "who am I to disagree" but why were you assuming that because Payton has not drafted a first round QB before that you should be using that to tamp down his knowledge base for the decision? Go back to the 2006 draft when he was a rookie head coach. Payton had the #2 overall pick & his choice of THREE hotshot rookie QBs all expected to go top 10 were just sitting there for the taking. He clearly knew what he was doing in ignoring all three of them & signing Brees instead. Nobody in the NFL knew Brees was eventually heading to the HOF when Payton signed him. In point of fact, nobody else in the NFL even offered him a contract because not only was he coming off a down year, but he had only ONE good one on his five year resume. More to the point, Brees was only 3 months past a very serious shoulder injury that he himself later admitted he thought might be the end of his career. He actually failed a physical in Miami & the Saints were the only team in the NFL who were willing to risk signing him, very much like Denver did with Peyton Manning.
So clearly Payton knows what he's doing when evaluating college QBs, a fact I concede even though I was not in favor of Nix & still have questions about him. If you're going to express doubt about his judgement here, remember what happened to Vince Young, Matt Leinhert, & Jay Cutler. You need to do better research to come up with reasons for your opinion.
Start with the system that Nix played in for 4 of the 5 years he was in college, find out who designed it, why it offered a huge advantage to the QB, & most of all...how he performed in the one year he was outside of that system. Hint; that system contained the use of NFL pro sets & required the QB to make more than one or two reads.

My argument to the Bo nix not throwing down the field thing is what in the rule book says you have to throw deep balls to win games? What if him throwing short 5 to 10 yard balls consistently gets us TD’s and wins? Yards don’t win games points do and it doesn’t matter how you get them

I’d rather dink and dunk down the field to touchdowns rather than try and take deep shots and get it picked off or miss throws

I’d be lying if I said I was a broncos fan but I do like the chat sports pages and from an unbiased perspective I think the draft was decent nix was definitely early anyone saying otherwise is delusional however why risk trading back and not getting the guy? Also what was the contingency plan Zach Wilson? I think in retrospect nix will probably turn out to be a very average qb but honestly Denver just needed something at qb I’d give it a C+ it wasn’t bad wasn’t great however Jonah Ellis and Troy Franklin really pull the draft together both of those are A to A+ picks

It's still crazy to me how you knock Bo Nix for the check downs but you were big on JJ McCarthy lol. We're all guessing at this point but i think Bo will be the better QB out of this draft.

Fair enough. I watch most of your video and I do recall pre draft, you being high on JJ McCarthy as many others in the media were. I just never understood how the same people high on McCarthy then go on to cush Bo Nix for being a game manager....we're all rooting for the same thing (Broncos superbowl). Time to embrace the pick and change the vibes of this organization.

I know Mr. Matthew didn't like Nix dafted by the Broncos seriously who was going to help progress the Broncos a little bit Zach Wilson Or Jarrett Stidham no I got maybe Ben DiNucci why not pick a QB who improved year after year that has a low Interception stat who can move quickly in the pocket and either throw to a wide open WR or TE.I get it he wasn't the picture you placed in your head where all the picks you wanted to go but Nix could be the breath of fresh air I honestly don't know why you kept wanting to trade pieces that can help ZW,JS, or BD for a TE who wouldn't be affective since the three QB would struggle greatly to get him the ball our o-line is pretty good but if the talent is super lame that was going to be a wasted pick even if we got a very good defensive player and no really good QB prospects come out 2025 that's just suffering you and fellow Broncos fans don't want or need. The other picks I grade Broncos draft B

He only threw 30% of his passes at or behind the line of scrimmage, remains the most accurate QB if you take away the passes at or behind the line of scrimmage. And Nix was never going to make it past the top 20 picks even without the run on QBs, they could not move back.

Anyone who truly understands the game of football would have easily seen from the very start that Bo Nix had every piece of the puzzle for Sean Payton! There is not another quarterback in the draft that fit the Denver Broncos! Sean Payton does not want anyone playing quarterback that has the initial instinct of wanting the play to break down so they can make a highlight play! Once again, if you understand the game of football and how Sean Payton runs his offense, you would know that processing and decision making is the number one imperative! If you had common sense you would also know there was not another quarterback in this draft who came anywhere close to the processing speed of Bo Nix. What did the the address are we just drafted say about Nix?
Ellis joins Bo Nix as the Broncos' two 'premium' draft picks in 2024. Elliss knows all too well how fast the Broncos' new franchise QB can process all the required nuances and get the ball out of his hand.
"It's going to be awesome," Elliss said of joining forces with Nix in Denver. "I know he's a quarterback who who threw the ball really fast. It was really frustrating playing against him because any time I was close, he would just get rid of the ball.
