Troy Franklin is an A+, most expected him to go early 2nd round
And he played with Nix
Same. Thought he'd go late 2nd.
not only that, bo and troy have played together for 2 years and already have great chemistry
@@agelomarston851 huge plus
This dude is moron, just trying to create content. lame
Coach Payton told the full story on Bo. They took all the short passes out and he checked out still.
completely disagree that Bo nix wasn't the best possible pick at number one. really happy to have gotten him. it gives the broncos hope again. then you add Franklin an excitement is back for the bronco fans.
I think this is a classic case of a guy who looked at the stats and didn’t actually watch the games. If you actually watch the games you would see the Nix actually has a Bigger arm than most people can see
Terrell Davis ran 4.73 but had great game speed....so does this guy!
Like the 40 is overated for certain players
YES!
You must not have heard S. Payton talk about Nix' percentage of LONG distance throws as well?! You mentioned that he is the first overall throwing completion of all college, at 77%! But you missed the fact, Payton says he took out all the Short range and blitz stats, and ran the analysis again, giving him another first place stat considering ONLY long range throws, Nix still came in at first!
But adding Troy and already having Forsyth (ALSO A DUCK), from the year prior, Nix, Franklin & Forsyth already know each other!!
Then Adding Estime who makes holes and drags defenses, he gets the job done!?
I think overall, Denver got a B+ or maybe A-, if you realize the picks chosen may not be the best for everyone's opinions, but I think the picks were the best we could grab, for our NEEDS, and hopefully Sean Payton's expertise comes through!?
LETS GO BRONCOS!! 😎
Might I add ..
FOR EVERYONE...
I commented on the lady who interviewed Nix pre draft...
NEW BRONCO CATCHPHRASE (IDEA)...
scrapping Let's ride, as that was Russ ..
"LETS NIX EM!!"
😁😁🤔😲
Peyton knows how to find the talent and this draft speaks volumes of why he is a super bowel coach. Even if you don't agree with players he has the best supporting staff to coach up players.
Nix didn’t fumble and throw picks. 52 tds to 3 picks is a winner in my book.
Dwayne Haskins threw 50 tds in one season. How’d that work out?
@@JShady7620how many picks did haskins throw
@@realshidd3062 8
You should check out Bailey Zappe’s college stats
@@BroncosTV Didn't he play in a lesser conference though?? With poorer competition. NIX played in the Big10 and was a Heisman finalist
I like the Bo and Troy picks.
And Estime
Love every pick. Nice to feel hope after last season roller-coaster and years of not making the playoffs.
Coach Payton said even if you remove his short passes he has the best completion percentage in the draft.
That's correct. His opinion was based on lack of research on his part. There ARE reasons to doubt Nix, which I have detailed at length on these comment sections in RUclips videos, but doubting Sean Payton as not knowing what college QBs are about since he hasn't previously drafted on is ridiculously silly.
40 year fan here best draft I seen in The last 5 years🎉
I think this might top the Broncos 2012 draft class...🤞
I believe the Falcons scared denver by taking penix. Nix was the only guy left and may be gone by round 1
That simply does not track with what Payton stated expressly about drafting a 1st round QB. He said he would not draft one unless he was in love with him, which means he would not REACH for one if he thought the guy did not have what he was looking for. Whatever the NFL draft gurus thought about Nix, we should take Payton's word for the fact that he didn't talk himself into this. Anyone who thinks he did has not looked closely at the 2006 draft when he had the #2 overall pick. Sitting there for the taking were his choice of Vince Young, Matt Leinhert & Jay Cutler. He ignored all three of them & instead signed Brees, who at the time was not only nowhere near on team's radar for becoming what he would eventually be, but was coming off major shoulder surgery only 3 months earlier.
It's clear that Payton told the truth about what it would require for him to draft a 1st round QB. Whether we agree or not with the choice does not change that. He was not scared into reaching for Nix by Penix going to Atlanta. If anything, that would have made him happy if he wanted a guy like Bowers instead.
Estime is a B at least
B
Bo nix was a 1st rounder pick we pass on him raiders would have got him.. this was a solid a pick.. stop being dumb.. if u were drafting we would suck
He did what was asked of him. I’m positive Sean will get him coached up and Bo will surprise a lot of ppl
I think we had a great draft and I'm glad we got Zach Wislon also.
I hate to say it but, This off season was already addition by subtraction (cutting the line on Russ). This draft in relation to that move and picking up the Jets castoffs, who were starters in the league, looks really good.
Let’s Go!!
Estime ran a 4.71 in the 40 at the combine but ran a 4.58 at pro day. 4.58 isn't blazing speed in the NFL, but he's almost 230 lbs, so it's not horrible.
Franklin had an early 2nd rd grade, steal. We addressed the D-Line spot by trading for Franklin-Meyers.
Being a DUCK fan and seeing the chemistry between these two players was breathtaking and you'll see when you get the opportunity go broncos
Maybe I have my tin foil hat on but the addition of Forsyth last year and Troy this year gives some credence to the idea that bo was always the guy for Sean. Stats like last 2 min and redzone really stand out to experienced coaches quite a bit more then the casual arm chair scout
I really like what Denver did in the draft and getting the defensive lineman from the Jets
and Audric wasn't brought in for speed DUH! think Alstatt!
I don't believe in grading draft picks until I see them play.
Bo Nix is a good pick. I'm not throwing any parties or anything, but I'm not bummed out either. IMO, there wasn't any QB in this draft class worth trading up for, and the Broncos resisted any temptations to do that. Overall, Denver did a fine job in this draft, given the modest draft capital on hand.
You guys killed it.. that's my boy Jonah Ellis is 🔥
And Jonah elliss is like a young von miller
Nick Gargiulo doesnt have a highlight tape, but hey we need a center he is a big guy 6"5 318 so maybe our run game comes back to life i hope
HELL YES, WE NEEDED A GOOD QUATERBACK.
40 year fan here I'm very intrigued on seeing what Jared Statham is going to do in his second year of the offense
Who’s that
Fun fact Coach Payton missed Mahomes by 1 pick in a earlier draft and he almost missed Bo Nix by 1 pick. Luckily the Jets didn't take Bo Nix because Coach feels the same way about Bo Nix that he did with Mahomes
I am all for Bo Nix. Saw it in the combine
Well that’s what Peyton likes short passes getting the ball out quick
He checked down in Auburn a lot...different success at Oregon and they developed him very well. He can read defensive sets and makes quick decisions. Already 95% better than Wilson...not that Wilson😉😅😅
I am amazed by his accuracy! Short, mid range or deep passes are right on the money! Even in short passes the accuracy is important to give the receiver a chance at making a play! That is over looked by most people.
J Ellis is gonna be the next Derek Wolfe for us. He’s 20 years old. As men, we all know how much change and growth and increase in size and muscle happens after 20. Going to be a monster.
Do you like the Bo Nix draft pick? Yes or No

If you get Bo and one of his go to recievers was still available in the 4th round, why not get someone he's comfortable with and someone who can produce. Absolute steals with our WR picks.
That was smart to get Troy Franklin for Bo nix he’s probably gonna be his #1 target in games then Sutton then maybe raynolds
I give the draft class an A because we filled every need and got some great players in the process.
Every year we grade our draft an A. It’s ridiculous at this point. It’s a C at best.
@@JShady7620 Call it bias because we Broncos fans got used to not having a first round pick. I think the first 5 draft picks will make an impact this season.
Got bo nix we needed a qb
Vele did a great job at Utah. He is going to be impressive in Denver too! 👊🏼
Good luck Broncos, your draft class looks good!
Does anyone else notice this guy is a Broncos reporter and he has nothing positive, optimistic, or supportive to say? One thing to be realistic. Another thing completely to be constantly negative about everything this team does.
I literally gave Jonah Elliss an A grade😂😂😂😂
His analysis....is terrible. I can't believe this channel is so popular. Any idiot off the couch is better at analyzing picks than this guy.
What has there been in the last 8 years to be positive about. I like the fact that this guy is real and realistic.
Yes I like the Nix Pick it was a smart move for their most needed prospect
Thank you 4 your honest analysis.. Im a homer thats busy, out of loop! Go Broncos!
I like the Bo Nix pick because it is a great pick because he’s a guy who has never give up mentality

Overall Draft Grade: C+/B-
I support all the new draftees. Let's go!
Love the draft picks for Denver
Russ is not a bad QB, him and Payton just have very different styles. Russ is used to sitting in the pocket with lots of blockers and hucking it way down field, but Payton is a 5 blocker, quick passing type of coach. So they didnt adapt to each other very well. Bo Nix played the 5 blocker, quick passing style at oregon so he fits Payton's style better. I wish all the best to Russ but im excited to see what we can do when the coach gets to pick a QB that fits his style!
Also i feel like no one is talking about Audric Estime??
YES, I see starting potential with Bo Nix for sure. I actually see some comparisons to John Elway. He is slightly bigger than John Elway, is similarly mobile, his father was a College Football coach and he played alot durning his college career.
Yes sir. I like our new running back Estime, too.
BTW petey haven't been to active in the comments but watched every video always love your draft coverage. I know you worry about moss but I think the addition of a cb I see as to small to play outside makes me think it wasn't smoke when they said moss is a starter I think he only sat 1st year because of missing the rookie camps we are a development team and I see us wanting him to get a full install before he sees the field
Cody!! Thank you for the comment!! Can't wait for the season to get here to learn what the Broncos have in Moss
Nice late pick on c.b. sec division great production
YES!!!
I only watch Chat Sports if you are doing shots on video. Please add to the all future videos.
yes
I think he fits the system right on
I think they did okay on D line with the trade. 😂
Good enough 🎉
If you watch Estime's highlights he ran away from people a lot. I watched a lot of his games and trust me this guy is for real!
Great draft broncos
Terrell Davis ran a slow 40 as well.
yes I like it very much.
First of all, I'm not the biggest Bo NIx fan myself. That said however, you're displaying the fact that you failed to listen to what he said when he drafted him. He said they pulled all the underneath passes out of the equation & only looked at the intermediate & deep stuff, & the accuracy figures there for their analytics is what they relied on.
Second, I'll give you credit for saying "who am I to disagree" but why were you assuming that because Payton has not drafted a first round QB before that you should be using that to tamp down his knowledge base for the decision? Go back to the 2006 draft when he was a rookie head coach. Payton had the #2 overall pick & his choice of THREE hotshot rookie QBs all expected to go top 10 were just sitting there for the taking. He clearly knew what he was doing in ignoring all three of them & signing Brees instead. Nobody in the NFL knew Brees was eventually heading to the HOF when Payton signed him. In point of fact, nobody else in the NFL even offered him a contract because not only was he coming off a down year, but he had only ONE good one on his five year resume. More to the point, Brees was only 3 months past a very serious shoulder injury that he himself later admitted he thought might be the end of his career. He actually failed a physical in Miami & the Saints were the only team in the NFL who were willing to risk signing him, very much like Denver did with Peyton Manning.
So clearly Payton knows what he's doing when evaluating college QBs, a fact I concede even though I was not in favor of Nix & still have questions about him. If you're going to express doubt about his judgement here, remember what happened to Vince Young, Matt Leinhert, & Jay Cutler. You need to do better research to come up with reasons for your opinion.
Start with the system that Nix played in for 4 of the 5 years he was in college, find out who designed it, why it offered a huge advantage to the QB, & most of all...how he performed in the one year he was outside of that system. Hint; that system contained the use of NFL pro sets & required the QB to make more than one or two reads.
Yes😊
Ok please no more Let's Ride!..... LET'S GO BRONCOS
I think the Bo Nix pick was a good one
My argument to the Bo nix not throwing down the field thing is what in the rule book says you have to throw deep balls to win games? What if him throwing short 5 to 10 yard balls consistently gets us TD’s and wins? Yards don’t win games points do and it doesn’t matter how you get them
I’d rather dink and dunk down the field to touchdowns rather than try and take deep shots and get it picked off or miss throws
I wanted Penix, but I'm excited for Nix.
Bo is a big plus. Yes.
If you watch Audric Estime tape once he gets up to speed its rare that anyone catches him. That C grade just because of his 40 time is too low IMO
Not many running backs are covering 40 yards on a regular basis...
We will hear a lot of nix-to-franklin! All season if they click ASAP
I like it because Payton likes it
Estime ran the 40 injured look at his game tape he is game speed fast
Really GOOD DRAFT !!!!!!!! GO Broncs.....NO Pic GIVEAWAYS GOOD JOB!!!!!!
I’d be lying if I said I was a broncos fan but I do like the chat sports pages and from an unbiased perspective I think the draft was decent nix was definitely early anyone saying otherwise is delusional however why risk trading back and not getting the guy? Also what was the contingency plan Zach Wilson? I think in retrospect nix will probably turn out to be a very average qb but honestly Denver just needed something at qb I’d give it a C+ it wasn’t bad wasn’t great however Jonah Ellis and Troy Franklin really pull the draft together both of those are A to A+ picks
It's still crazy to me how you knock Bo Nix for the check downs but you were big on JJ McCarthy lol. We're all guessing at this point but i think Bo will be the better QB out of this draft.
When did I EVER say i was big on JJ???? I always said I would not draft him in round 1
@@BroncosTV
Fair enough. I watch most of your video and I do recall pre draft, you being high on JJ McCarthy as many others in the media were. I just never understood how the same people high on McCarthy then go on to cush Bo Nix for being a game manager....we're all rooting for the same thing (Broncos superbowl). Time to embrace the pick and change the vibes of this organization.
I know Mr. Matthew didn't like Nix dafted by the Broncos seriously who was going to help progress the Broncos a little bit Zach Wilson Or Jarrett Stidham no I got maybe Ben DiNucci why not pick a QB who improved year after year that has a low Interception stat who can move quickly in the pocket and either throw to a wide open WR or TE.I get it he wasn't the picture you placed in your head where all the picks you wanted to go but Nix could be the breath of fresh air I honestly don't know why you kept wanting to trade pieces that can help ZW,JS, or BD for a TE who wouldn't be affective since the three QB would struggle greatly to get him the ball our o-line is pretty good but if the talent is super lame that was going to be a wasted pick even if we got a very good defensive player and no really good QB prospects come out 2025 that's just suffering you and fellow Broncos fans don't want or need. The other picks I grade Broncos draft B
I want the short passes but we know he can still go deep. Raiders would’ve stolen Bo if we didn’t pick him
Bo Nix QB1 WilsonQB2
I love Bo let’s GO!
I’ll take Bo roll the dice I think he has the necessary tools and with some arm strength work he will be good enough
Saints were coming for Bo as well, They took Rattler
You'll be eating your shorts next year by this time with your take on Bo and Troy. How much tape did you watch?
Someone with an Oregon O in their bio surley will be objective
@@BroncosTV Just wait and watch.
👍🏻
Yes on Bo
I give them a B+
He only threw 30% of his passes at or behind the line of scrimmage, remains the most accurate QB if you take away the passes at or behind the line of scrimmage. And Nix was never going to make it past the top 20 picks even without the run on QBs, they could not move back.
Bo nix Will do great 😮
😢
Anyone who truly understands the game of football would have easily seen from the very start that Bo Nix had every piece of the puzzle for Sean Payton! There is not another quarterback in the draft that fit the Denver Broncos! Sean Payton does not want anyone playing quarterback that has the initial instinct of wanting the play to break down so they can make a highlight play! Once again, if you understand the game of football and how Sean Payton runs his offense, you would know that processing and decision making is the number one imperative! If you had common sense you would also know there was not another quarterback in this draft who came anywhere close to the processing speed of Bo Nix. What did the the address are we just drafted say about Nix?
Ellis joins Bo Nix as the Broncos' two 'premium' draft picks in 2024. Elliss knows all too well how fast the Broncos' new franchise QB can process all the required nuances and get the ball out of his hand.
"It's going to be awesome," Elliss said of joining forces with Nix in Denver. "I know he's a quarterback who who threw the ball really fast. It was really frustrating playing against him because any time I was close, he would just get rid of the ball.
Going Running back was stupid. We need better O-Lineman. We got good RBs already.
Grade the Broncos 2024 NFL Draft! A, B, C, D or F
B+ solid..
I give Broncos a grade B+ great draft
Well if broncos didn’t pick Bo nix I believe the raiders may have took him since he was the last good qb in the draft honestly
Let's Bo Franklin
Should have taken Brock Bowers and traded for Bo Nix the roster is really thin
