Excited to see where this goes. Running the build as well so best of luck to both of us. I've had terrible luck with mutants but was always a fan of the alternate weapons (Horns/stingers). Hopefully the high mobility will help keep me alive.
I won’t lie, I was quite enjoying the other series. The best part about that is I’m more excited for this one and I’ll almost certainly enjoy it even more! Thank you for being the very best of the Qud community my friend. Keep on being amazing and I can’t wait to see where this build and series go!
hey dude I love your Qud videos, I'm still a baby messing around in roleplay mode but I really enjoy your complete dissection of your own gameplay here, very informative, and yet i DONT feel like I'm having the game being spoiled, maybe thats the nature of this awesome game.
Hello! I commented a little while ago on one of your videos and decided to jump in. I started watching this one and couldnt get the itch to play it out of my head. So i bought it. I decided to try out this build. My first run, ended the second i entered the joppa crack. I cannot remember what killed me but it was so quick. I am really liking the build you detail here. I could not find the proboscis thing - so I think i took the sensing mutation. I am not sure how the mental armor thing works really - and I think i accidentally spec'd into things I should not have... But I am now some where past level 8 and being way more careful about my exploration so i do not run into something that one hits me before i realize there is something to worry about! I am having a lot of fun with this game. Thanks for all the content :)
Fyi, charge also triggers the stinger attack like lunge does. Playing this character with wings and charging across the screen to sting the enemies is very fun!
I bought Caves of Qud a couple of days ago and my first Joppa crack was filled with a pack of chitinous pumas, like 5 at least. I'm playing on roleplay while I get to grips with it so I had a few goes at it, but I evetually got down to like 9 strata and just felt like maybe I should leave when I saw a hostile purple NPC who was "impossible" and now I'm trying to find my way out of the horrible maze I made for myself across heaps of screens. Very good game, I am a horned nomad and the horn is so good. Might try the stinger next time!
I was inspired to start a new classic run with a build very similar to this. I encountered 2 slumberlings, 3 slugsnouts, and craziest of all a polyhumour in the waterlogged tunnel. The build is very fun but this has been a very stressful start. I wonder if the new update has modified some of the zone tier creature populating
How do you manage to update the game and not have previous saves break? I saw you mention that in the other series first video but didn’t hear how you did it. Also I truly can’t believe that Qud is finally going to actually have a 1.0 release
It's a mod, and you need to be running it in the version you're playing in. It's kind of messy and honestly it's better to make a backup of your current caves of qud folder in steam apps and finish your run on the old version of qud
I've found confusing venom to be really effective, even tho id doesn't do extra dmg like poison, in crowd fighting you can get rid of one enemy for a while. And for my stuns I take double muscled. Nice str boost for free and a chance to daze on hit is good. Combined with long blade dmg I've been quite successful as a new player.
Is it a mod that allow you to auto-explore super fast ? I've tried searching for one and couldn't find anything. I would love if it could be customizable, to let you be really fast in settlement, and slower in more dangerous map.
I'm liking my tonic allergy 5 unstable genome scholar with customs and folklore chimera with 3 or 4 sets of legs and usually only avoiding the extra limbs on things like horns, carapace, and maybe basking; after trying to find some of the villages and get a little more amenpur village rep for tinker 3 that I hadn't thought of without 29 int, and wondering if i prosethelyze an ogre ape like I keep trying, if I'll lose my cannibal mayor friend with all these impossible eaters nectar sellin mechanimists hated by all the unknown villages though?; right in the north-east to middle jungle surface with all the 700 xp elder tart beards for corrosive gas 10, nuclear and anti-matter cells I'm trying drain to dissasemble at level 28-29; freezing for like twenty turns at-1000 with 65 cr, freeze mines 3 and a couple blaze with a tonic allergy?; that I haven't been to before; after always grinding down to stratum 20 on top and bottom grit gate, and dying plenty on golgotha falling down shafts and havin my ape die around level 20, and seeming like a pretty good trashy centipede, jilted lover; treasure trove area that's free xp with psychics doin 3 damage and gettin the multiple legs and double muscled before rapid genome and no adrenaline this time. And filters and mirrorshades with many heads and faces?, and takin no tartbeard corrosive breath damage I guess, or my corrisive gas probably?, with dazing and then double muscle short blade stunning the deep slumberlings not makin my favorite friends anyway though I don't think the legendary crocs do the water ritual as I guess it's been awhile; or outrunning the lithofex gaze, while I think about how strong one of these impossible mechanimists could be with one or two and an ogre ape, and I guess basking might not be too bad with regeneration and fasting way after learning about it anyway though? And definitely starting with 18s, a 20, and 14 ego; and probably goin for a little more agility, intelligence, and maybe toughness before golgotha; as I feel out the boosts and not spendin 2 points for 1 early makin less sense on a brawler I think. And wonderin if that nectar recipe can be memorized after watchin ep. 10, and gettin my cooking and tinkering goin pretty early on, oh guess not if you were inspired, and would be op as it is already? Oh refractive on one of my plastifer sneakers is already pretty good, if I could just find more gel for my restraining movement bracelet, and protelityze a chameleon before buying an impossible warden, expecting only one friend, but +4 ego love injector meals seems like a good recipe, and that legendary stingered voider still doin 62 damage in one grab, with my 295 move speed and recalling? Yep, definitely got a pig, a crysteel and electrobow decked out impossible warden, and a hoversled? And would rather wear a steel buckler than a bloody flawless crysteel aegis? Well at least defensive electrobow around acidic purple oozes and aggressive around barathramites might be necessary to preserve rep? I wonder if normality grenades will make this very tough paladin wraith hittable or I'll need phasing, or the phaser rifle though? Or the phase shift grenades, but i think normality, bein rich in bc explosive grenades at $23 sometimes. Oh dang I think my friend might be the wraith-knight summoner??? Or this bounty prism quest first maybe? Ah, traded the phylactery for a hammer?
not to toot my own horn but I have a pretty good beginner friendly tutorial series that covers most of what you'll need to get started! I made it to be short and digestible so you can play along and learn at your own pace :) ruclips.net/p/PLXr3aFsuMON_iAm2Cs6SaFWmKRVpQCA0j
could it be possible that they patched how XP are rewarded? I am currently trying this build and when an Enemy dies to poison it seems I don't get XP for it.
treat disease from physic makes golgatha a joke, super not into it. Now you never have to worry about glotrot if you have physic, which you can learn in the stilt for free.
Three years ago you spent a whole episode getting several characters killed by the bear in the cave. I love how much progress you have made.
Damn that feels like a lifetime ago lol
Excited to see where this goes. Running the build as well so best of luck to both of us.

I think it should offer you a lot of forgiveness! Just throw some early points into multiple legs to let you dance around goons
I just started playing Qud recently and watching you play is very educational. Thanks!
I'm glad I could help!
cool! was just watching your older tutorials for some basics of understanding the builds. crazy how much the game has changed even in just that time
Oh boy am i looking forward to this series. Cant wait to see what the new update has.
Very excited! New around here, and thankful to have an ongoing series to watch!

I appreciate that! Yeah I'm sorry about losing the other series, I was also enjoying it but I lagged behind the curve a bit with the qud buds series

I just got the game a couple days ago too, and that's about how my first run went too
Don't fret about the joppa start, I don't mind watching it, I just can't stomach the wire quest when I'm playing myself.
Hard to believe that 1.0 is within sight at this point
honestly its been such a long road since it originally came out. feel like a proud dad
Been a long time, getting from there to here

Fodder for the algorithm beast. Great stuff, keep it coming!
thank you!

you def don't need to go that deep! ah!

oh that is brutal! I don't think the creature tables have been altered at all by my knowledge
RUclips need more Qud content. Great Video!
Yeaaaah new Qud!
Will you do a guide on the new mechanics, like skill rebalancing and mechas?
That's the plan! Though I don't know if they are super complex, what I said about choosing shields or duel welding is just more true now heh

thank you for watching them and the support!
I’m excited to see what your new favorite build is. 😁
I think you'll like it!
i pray to the algorithm!

in options go to automation and choose maximum auto-moves to (infinity sign) - this make autoexplore super fast
@@AS-mt7vp you've just re-increases my love for CoQ a million time more, thank you so much ! It's such a time saver 🥹

I think you get the XP?
not even 5 minutes in and you already killed of the first run?! ;)
lol does it count? 😂
Proboscis? Has this been changed?
Oops variant 😂
How dangerous are slugsnouts?
Pretty dangerous at low level!
Í never know how to spend my mutation points
I covered methods for spending points in my part 2 mutation tutorial if it interests you, I try to keep things pretty simple
@@BigSimple thanks i will watch that :)
