@22:34 I come from a very different place on the transgender issue. And also from a different place on how to work through offending someone in a way that still shows empathy. That said, I think the way you addressed the issue did show genuine empathy, not in the way that word is often thrown around, in a performative, politically correct sort of way, but in a very genuine way.

I was screeaaaaming for you to take Apophis at the start lol. Le stronk snek is so OP especially on lower cycles where healing recovers the %7 life loss much more easily. Them or Mardok (beast god) are the favored choices for strength based melee IMO. Mardok first prayer is an AMAZING reusable heal. Oros is probably the most busted god of all, to the point where I no longer build them (it?) because it feels like cheating, it's also rather one-note IMO basically only good with pugilism and conversely the only god you'd ever want to choose for pugilism characters. EDIT: Deeper into the stream now and I just wanna say it was very cool you got Ulfsire on and great to hear yall discuss game dev and about their background. Big ups to Ostranauts as well, I love that game so much and it just got a really incredible new update finally opening up nuclear drives and interplanetary travel! Definitely rec playing it again

this has been one of my favourite games in recent years so i got pretty excited about seeing you covering it again after so long. i don't wanna be a backseat gamer but if you don't mind a bit of advice: on lower ascension levels you can sell and re-buy health potions at a shop for profit if they're on sale/discount. also the wait action you can use to skip a turn makes controlling enemy movement a lot more convenient than queueing/unqueueing tiles especially when they're on cooldown and mastering that was probably key for beating day 3+ difficulty for me oh and there's an inspection mode (alt key i believe?) where you can look at the different special attributes of enemies and what their tiles do

Nice timely video, the full release is coming next week (sep 5th). It's a very fun distilled tactical roguelite game.

Commenting for the algorithmic ways

a majority of indie games these days are roguelikes for a multitude of reasons i feel as a developer i don't need to put too much effort in a story or level design, i just pick a vague aesthetic/theme and figure out procedural generation. if i want to, i can hop on a trend and yeet out a low effort copy of whatever i know is popular in the genre (like isaac or vamp survivors) as a player, i get oodles of playtime for the low price of less than 10 bucks during a sale when i don't want to buy the more expensive triple A games or less than two hour long story games in my opinion, we need a revival of good ol' highscore based arcade games

there really aren't a lot of "roguelikes" where runs actually take this long, it feels more like just a strategy game with a permadeath mechanic. in the last episode on this i really liked how many tight "barely winning" moments you had, seems like the new cards you unlocked made it a bit easier this time. (also the game audio was extremely loud compared to the usual)

Nova Drift feels like such a classic in the genre that i was shocked to know it only got released in 1.0 recently, also hey that's me in the credits yippee

i am just now getting back to this series but it does very strongly remind me of TerraFirmaCraft, if you ever got to play that Minecraft mod. i think you would really enjoy since the mechanics are all there. food preservation, leatherworking, seasons, soil nutrients, stone knapping, ceramics burning and metalworking, etc..

Shrug off is when you take no damage due to your armour. You probably know that by now though.

funny part is that in demo you can in fact go out of bounds abd get really far from the demo area

not the kind of game i expected on here honestly but it looks really fun. i honestly haven't been playing too many shooters besides Ultrakill in recent years, but i think a sort or tierlist or top ten favourite games among everything you showcased on the channel as an annual christmas/new year's special would be a cool idea

also Rename Weapon mod lets pawns randomly rename their own weapons for flavor, similar functionality to what you suggested with animals getting names. On a quick glance I don't see anything exactly like that for animals and I agree that is a good idea.

manhunter from scaria does make them very likely to rot instantly.
