- A trip outside of France since Covid hit! Watch as we navigate life without an internet connection, hang a swing and maybe do a bit of complaining...
If you're new to our channel - welcome. We're an American family of four (with several rescue animals) restoring a petite chateau on 40 acres in Brittany, France.

One thing I really like about your chateau is that it’s a beautiful mixture of classic and modern styles. I have this look in my home and it works for me. I think it looks like everything is something we loved so into the house it went! ❤

Your property is absolutely stunning. It is not lost on me that it is more than 2 full time jobs to maintain. And renovations are a bonus💗
That’s what I keep thinking! Just the exterior requires four full time people, no matter how low maintenance you keep it. Household chores keep another two people hopping, even if they can overlook the dust and dirty floor.

Watching the cat drink is one thing, but actually filming it! 😆 That oak is just gorgeous and was begging for swings. I Iove it! What a beautiful place to be quarantined! I believe that all these trials and tribulations (phew!) could easily have found their way into a chapter of Peter Mayle's 'A Year In Provence' only being played out 33 years later in Brittany. Ok, not going to lie I totally LOL when Lincoln sat in the swing on the first hanging attempt. OMG no internet for almost 2 weeks - now that is NO laughing matter. The same with sweet little Guava and her ear and your household's bout with COVID. Glad that you are on the mend, internet is up and we will love little Guava droopy ear or no. Merci!

Oh no, sorry you were sick. I missed your vlogs and thought “your mom had arrived or guests”. You are important, maybe not to the internet fixers or line people, Followers think so. Dublin looks wonderful, I have been to Ireland, Dublin we bypassed for country roads less travelled.🇨🇦❤️

Oh! You had me in stitches when Lincoln first sat on that swing! Then again I hadn't stopped laughing when Lincoln adjusted the height of the swing and I, too, wondered how in the hey anyone other than a basketball player was going to easily reach the seat of the swing to sit on it! I'm still chuckling a little. That was so funny. Thanks for providing a bit of mirth! You have a great voice for commentary - or slap stick comedy - and it just made this video much more enjoyable! Nice you were able to escape for a short vacation. Ireland looks lovely. Even with covid you kept your sense of humor and the days without internet. It's easy to laugh but most would freak out without it.

Glad you have recovered. You need ( actually I need ;) ) an animal cam so we (me) can pop in and watch the fur babies. Love the chateau and the vlogs keep them coming !

I live on Eastern Shore Virginia, pay for 2(TWO!) internet providers and have sketchy coverage at best. I get you Lincoln!

Glad you got the internet back on. Those drop lines for the swings look very thin. If possible I would drop 2 lines down 2 feet apart. Stronger & will stop the rotation. Hope the doggy has recovered. regards from the UK

my cats and dogs get coconut oil and an egg yolk in their food 2 - 3 times a week. no fleas and ticks

Have you got an orange flybox. It uses 4 G. We were sceptical as the phone signal is not great at our place but the flybox works brillliantly. We don’t have fibre and the 4 G is faster than our internet signal and you can move it around and use it in places your livebox ( modem) doesn’t reach.

You knocked this one out of the park. I don’t wish ill will on anyone, but this was very funny, in a sad way. I learned that lesson with one of my dogs, too. I will never again put my dog through that. Fix what made them scratch in the first place and the swelling will go down.
As my folks life in Brittany too, I know of the heatwave and storms you are vlogging about. As they also live in a rural area and quite possibly have the same (terrible) internet provider as you I also can relate to the rubbish service and lack of repair facilities. I loved your little tour of Dublin, it was like seeing the walk I do almost every weekend as thats where I live. Another great vlog, thank you.

Your internet issues remind me of the 1st Chateau vlog I started following a few years ago, also in rural France. (The Chateau Diaries) Stephanie had to drive down the road (usually in the middle of the night) to get on line (and then it took FORever to upload her vlog). She did that for almost a year until they finally got proper internet at the chateau!🙀

At least you had a great trip before having quarantine! Your gardens are awesome! Wonderful to be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor (and very convenient when you can't go anywhere). I will say no wifi plus having covid .....must really suck! Love the swings and sure is a pi tree for it....oh and yeah I'm not a fan of Guinness I've only had 1 ever 🤣

The swings are nice guys but I would have went for a bench out there instead. I think those swings would be better out of the elements.

Glad you got 2 up and the table,etc. Great,. That IS a gorgeous tree and they are meant for the oxygen giving, carbon-dioxide exchange-the lungs of the Earth- but, a great tree with a great branch on a tree, nothing better! You're hanging a swing from that tiny rope?? I mean the hanging chairs are ok, but seriously. I think you need a real swing, two suitable ropes attached to a board so you can get height. A real swing for a perfect tree!
In the US we have pills we give the dogs once a month that kill fleas, ticks and now in the same pill heart worms. Do you have something like that in France. My dog does not get fleas on this and now over time we don’t have many fleas outside. I also can do that for cats but I use a liquid I put on their back from middle of head down spine so they can’t lick it off it goes down their spine to the tail. So they do not have fleas or ticks either
Hi Carol - yes, we have the pills here as well. The vets (both in the US and France) recommend the Seresto flea collars. The fleas and ticks this year are just crazy.
Ireland, like the UK, is gorgeous during spring and summer. But can be very depressing during the fall and winter. Everything is so gray, cold, and damp. Lol
So sorry about the lack of wifi. Just an hour without is like a week without power. Haha. Hello StarLink! Not that I am a fan of Elon or the thousands of satellites he is polluting space with......but... reliable internet is essential. Particularly whith children and business needs.
