Can you please show a picture of the stuff you sewed on the tarp? The s-rings? Size of the s rings?
I want to copy the tarp contraption you had. Do you think that aluminum poles would work too?
I didn’t sew anything on the tarp.
I’ve used aluminum poles, and they’re fine if there’s no wind. However, I had 4 telescopic poles bend 90° a few months ago during a storm.
Where do you get the S rings?
Did you use all 8 poles or just 6? 2 tall ones in the middle plus 4 shorter ones in the four corners?
The S Biners are from Amazon.
Two of the poles are taller, yes.

You mentioned that you slept in this cot for over 100 nights. Were those nights spent in the similar setup as in the video, ie, a tarp overhead and a cot?
I’ve used that cot well over 200 nights now. I’ve used many different set ups over the years from a canvas wall tent to various tarp configurations. Most of these setups can be seen in other videos that I’ve made.
80+ nights! that is a lot of nights Jamie Wayne!

If it’s really bad, I’ll use a permethrin treated mosquito head net.

Would this work as a permanent bed at home?
Hmmm. That depends. I’d be fine in it long term, but I can’t say how many years it would last. It’s pretty solid, though.

I've had one for about six years and sleep on it nightly. Due to a bad weld one of the buttons popped off but after some JB Weld I haven't had a problem since.
I'm thing on a cot as a bet too, mind to say what got you in that path of thinking?

I just use the whole vista 1 system. this video got wild after a pretty standard cot review lol.
Looking at this for minivan camping and my wife would like to join me occasionally. For one night would it be ok for a couple. I’m pretty wide but my wife is very small and petite.
Possibly, but it might be rather cuddly.
@@jamieschmotzer I ended up buying this with the sleeping pad to go with. If we lay with our heads opposite of each other there is plenty of room for the both of us. The other way is a bit cuddly lol.

How does it sleep if you sleep on your stomach?
I can sleep on my stomach on it no problem.
Def couple it with some kind of pad. its basically the same if not better than your home mattress at that point.
I often use a thermarest or even a few wool blankets underneath me. It’s comfortable.
